A lot can happen in seventy years. In what would be the depths of winter for the rest of Altica, Vallckran was hatched to one of the dragonlords of Acanthus, a Garchomp and a purist named Ratimir Vor'lero. Ratimir's bloodline was pure Garchomp, and it made sense to him to mate with another Garchomp with a pure bloodline. Vallckran's mother was Tihana, whose bloodline was comprised of dragons, if not just Garchomps. Ratimir had little interest in her once he got the one hatchling.
Vallckran had little chance to learn what 'fun' meant, nor was he allowed much of a purely social life. His life was composed of training under his father's tutelage, combined with an education heavily bent toward painting dragons as supreme above all other creatures. This continued until Vallckran was about sixteen years old, when his training culminated in an early evolution. Seeing that his son was now a Gabite, Ratimir decided to take it a step further by forcing Vallckran to learn to fend for himself, through trial and error. Vallckran was thus dumped in the lower reaches of the Montajo Range, away from settlements.
It proved difficult at first, considering the change of scenery and the resident Pokemon who hadn't yet learned how vicious Vallckran could be. After a few weeks, one of the few Pokemon who wouldn't leave the Gabite alone was a Fraxure named Viktor. He was the only other sentient dragon in the area, apparently a hermit whose range centered on the banks of a river that flowed north toward Tri-Way Town. Vallckran drove Viktor away whenever they met; he also raided Viktor's hunting grounds whenever the Fraxure seemed to disappear for days at a time. Another irritation in Vallckran's life was an Espeon who took an interest in stalking him almost from day one. She wasn't scared away like most other Pokemon; the only good that came from her presence was the occasional hint that Vallckran was being watched. It irked him to not know who would spy on him or why.
Vallckran never got the chance to see if his father would return for him. After a year and a half of living solo, he came across a group of twenty or so Pokemon. Hunters, search party, soldiers, lost travelers...he didn't know who they were and didn't care, as he'd grown more feral than civilized due to isolation. Vallckran hadn't lost his sanity, though, he was smart enough to tail them from a distance. However, the wild Pokemon in the area had begun to become scarce for the season, and that Ponyta looked tasty... As each day passed, a Pokemon or two would disappear from the group. A week and a half later, others came across the remains of the last seven or so Pokemon in the group. Another week passed before Cyalans were able to track down and trap the responsible Gabite. Vallckran never answered the question of whether he'd eaten those twenty-odd Pokemon, whom he was charged of killing.
To his surprise, Vallckran was approached by Viktor with a message from Ratimir. Vallckran's mother, Tihana, had an illegitimate son, Vallckran's half-brother named Jalal who was close to his age. The message basically told Vallckran that if he wanted his punishment to be lenient, he would hunt down his half-brother and bring back Jalal's Shell Bell as proof of his death. Vallckran was given two weeks of freedom to finish the hunt; after that, he'd be hunted down himself. In short, the hunt lasted a week and a half. It was the first real challenge in a long time for Vallckran, who was placed in the Cyalan army. None of this deterred the stalker-Espeon from following Vallckran.
The Gabite didn't gain much prominence in the common ranks until the age of 21 or so, when a civil war broke out with Aion leading one side. Though he'd had time to relearn how to live with other sentient Pokemon, Vallckran never lost the instincts of a vicious hunter, which were now coupled with both his father's previous training and the soldier's training he'd received. The Gabite showed no mercy to the enemies he fought, left no survivors if he wasn't held back. Through experience, Vallckran learned how to defeat his opponents, how to lure Pokemon here or there and trap them. In a way, war was simply a larger version of hunting to him, even when Vallckran was promoted into having soldiers under his command. Not a big position, but his efficiency soon spread to those under him.
The first highlight of Vallckran's career came toward the end of the civil war. Skyhaven was taken by Aion's armies, which moved on to other battles and left a contingent to hold the city. It wasn't long before enemy troops returned and surrounded Skyhaven, threatening to take it back. It was Vallckran who first proposed a trap. Zoroarks and a few other Pokemon among Aion's soldiers created a convincing illusion of dragons coming to rain fire upon the enemy troops, who turned and began to flee. In their confusion, they'd been cut off by the majority of soldiers from Skyhaven, spearheaded by Vallckran and a few other leaders. No survivors were allowed to live. It was this, combined with Vallckran's overall performance and a recommendation from his father, that drew Aion's attention to Vallckran in particular.
Soon after the end of the civil war, Vallckran accepted an offer to join the Crimson Company; being a dragon and hunter at core didn't sit well with being any sort of officer in the Cyalan army. In the years since, Vallckran looked forward to the challenge in assignments akin to hunting, gaining both a reputation and experience. His success allowed him to rise through the ranks of the Company over time, becoming first a Garchomp after several years and then a Crimson Captain around the age of 54. Some years into his new position, Vallckran had been pinned with the title 'Warlord', and for good reason. During the Indrasil rebellion, Vallckran and a contingent of the Company remained in Skyhaven to keep an eye on the city's residents, as they were not trusted at the time.
About two and a half years ago, a fanatic Cloyster attempted to assassinate Vallckran. Though the Garchomp killed the Pokemon, he was left with a limp and an obsession over somehow overcoming his weakness to ice. Vallckran made little headway in this regard, and time passed before he was given his next big job. Leading a small Company research team, Vallckran headed for the cold reaches of Coldarra in search of the Ice Plate. He paired up with the local Fire Tribe for a time before moving on with his mission.
A few months passed, and Vallckran returned to Cyala as the sole survivor of the Company research team, only telling King Aion that he failed to acquire the Ice Plate. Being a dragon that returned from Coldarra alive added to his reputation as the Warlord, as Vallckran waits for the next assignment.
