"When I get out of here, I'm taking a nap," Luther mumbled to himself. For the first time in ages, he was very tired. He had been walking for some time, tracing his steps back to the cavern entrance. "Why does the way back seem longer than the trip inside?"

Suddenly, he saw light. The outside world. And a figure stood at the entrance. Obviously, Luther had only one choice. He ran towards the entrance. If the figure was hostile, it was going to meet Luther's fist. If it wasn't hostile...well, Luther hadn't thought that far ahead. Surely he'd think of something before he reached the figure.

Before Luther could make it out of the cave and just as soon Mace entered, a sudden earthquake came and closed off the exit and enterance to the cave with stone and earth, whoever is inside the cave of origin is now trapped within.

Just then, an echo can be heard in the cave, within the mist and darkness. It is the cries of wild pokemon gathering, something big is happening and something even more worse is about to start so very soon...

"Oh that's just great!" Mace mumbled. "I knew coming back into the cave was a bad Idea. Now I'm locked out!"

When Mace heard the Echo he bagan to quiet down. "Something is in there." Said so himslef staying close to his Arcanine, Barker.

"Always be prepared," Rain says, moving her coat, there is an electric spark surrounding the pokeballs at her belt. "What caused the problems is an EMP, any technology I have is polerized to resist any electromagnetic weapons."

Jake nods, though he has no idea what Rain is talking about, other than that she protected her Pokeballs. Jake asks Rain, "are the Pokeballs themselves protected, or do they have to be on your belt? If they work on their own, can I borrow a few?" Houndoom looks pleadingly at Rain as well, while Jake is expecting an answer.

Mace got nervous being stuck in the cave with no way out. "Barker use Firle Blast on the rocks to see if you can get us out!" The Arcanine opened it's mouth and shot out a great big blast of fire which slamed into the rocks. A few broke but it was still in the way.

Just then the cave shook and rumbled. Luther and Mace was flung back and forth by the violent earthquake. Just then the ground beneath them shattered and they fell into a hole to the bottom chamber of the cave.

As they landed the ground shook again and the earth cracked and moved greatly forming a sort of valley within the cave itself. At the end of the valley way stands a figure... Tommy.

The two were brought through the valley by wild Machokes to Tommy. They stood before the virus infected boy,

"So, you have come this far.." His voice trailed off. The voice did not sound like Tommy but more of an omnipotent being where its voice can be heard all around the person.

Tommy turned around to face the two trainers who have been freed by the Machokes and stand infront of Tommy,

"Only the two of you showed up? Hmmm.. I can sense the other two.. around... Fallarbor town.." Tommy smiled.

"Your pokemon looked cramped with their pokeballs, why not I let them loose?"

The pokeballs hovered away from the trainers and opened releasing their pokemon. A Grovyle, flygon, Ninetails and a Scizor appeared facing their trainers and all looked possessed, they would not obey their trainers. Even Mace's Arcanine, Barker, started to act strange, there may be a chance to save him before he is completely taken over.

"Pokemon are living, breathing creatures as well who have feelings and hearts. Do you think they enjoy hurting themselves and battling each other for a human's amusement?" Tommy asked.

"Look how they were easily manipulated, they seem to enjoy this feeling. I can sense it within them. My brothers, fight the humans which turned you into slaves. And you two humans, taste the pain and suffering you give your Pokemon in a battle." Tommy said.

The five pokemon all look like they are taken over by the virus and begin to prepare themselves to battle their own trainers...

"Okay isn't this a little overboard, Tommy?" Mace said to him stairing sat the Pokemon. "I mean, umm.... Tommy are you okay what's gotten into you!?" said randomly.

Mace grabbed his Pokenav and typed a message in then put it away.

The message was sent to Jake and Rain, it Read:

This is Mace, Luther abnd I are trapped underground in the Cave of Orgin. Tommy has gone mad and is trying to kill us with our own Pokemon!

The message Mace tried to send did not go through. Such a waste of time, electronic devices no longer work.

"So you think you can call them for help? What a waste of time...." Tommy trailed off.

It is as if he knew what Mace tried to type on his electronic device.

The Pokemon seem to take steps forward awaiting a command.

"You silly humans and your need for tools." Tommy grew angry

"You view Pokemon as tools, don't you? I can read their minds. You never once used them other than battling or to do your bidding... I have yet to see a bond of true companionship!" Tommy explained.

Electricity emitted from Tommy and jolted across the cave. The Pokemon howled.

"BROTHERS! HAVE FUN WITH YOUR TRAINERS!" Tommy shouted.

The Pokemon began to circle their trainers.

"Farewell... trainers.." Tommy said trailing off.

He slowly hovered above the ground and went back into one of the many tunnels. He seemed to have gone through the one with a big "R" stamped on the wall.

Luther smiled. For this was to be a true test of his inherent awesomeness. He cracked his knuckles, stretched his legs, and prepared himself for the coming battle.

"Just like old times, eh boys?" He said with a grin, before turning his head to look at Mace. "I used to wrestle my pokemon all the time, back in the day. This sure brings back memories!"

The circle of pokemon surrounding them had grown tighter. Now was not the time to reminisce. Luther struck another dramatic pose. "It's showtime!"
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Meanwhile, in in the Saffron City Pokemon Gym, a young male trainer had just challenged the local Gym Leader, Sabrina, to a match. An Alakazam stood by her side. The young trainer threw a pokeball, which somehow still functioned due to convenient storytelling, and an Eevee emerged. It crouched, ready for battle. A battle that would never commence.

The chamber shook for a moment, before the ceiling burst. A hail of debris rained down from the upper structures of the building, conveniently landing in harmless spots around the two trainers and their pokemon. A large shadow filled the room, and rapidly decreased in size as a large creature fell into the room.

At last, Luther's Dragonite arrived at its destination. The shockwave produced by its impact with the ground knocked out the young trainer's Eevee. Sabrina, surprised for a moment, recognized the pokemon immediately.

"...I'm guessing you're here because Luther's got himself in trouble again? Fine, fine. But next time, please use the door." She sighed, knowing that Dragonite wouldn't listen to her anyway.

Her opponent had other thoughts, though. "But what about our match?"

Sabrina, now seated comfortably along with her Alakazam atop Dragonite, glared at the boy, with cold eyes. "Eevee can no longer battle. You lose." And with that, Dragonite took off once more, now heading back to the Cave of Origin.

Mace began get nervous. When he looked at Barker it was one time he rather have his old Growlith back. Mace sighed then stood behind Luther.

Then Mace got angry. "Wait isn't Tommy a trainer too?" He asked. "He kept his Pokemon in Pokeballs and battled with them too."

Mac smirked and then grabbed something from his Pocket. "There is something being a coward is good for Mace said throwing the object to the floor. It was a Smoke bomb. The Smoke filled the circle of Pokemon as Mace dashed out inbetween the middle of two of the Pokemon in the circle and began running toward the tunnel that Tommy was in. The one with the "R". He stupidly left Luther Bhind. Mace couldn't help screaming as heran thorugh the tunnel. It had to be so loud that anyone or anything in the cave could hear him.

Mace followed Tommy through the tunnel he went to leaving Luther alone to fight off the Pokemon.

Mace entered the tunnel in which a group of criminals onece used to teleport from one place to the other, the teleporter within the tunnel seemed to still be working, possibly due to Tommy allowing it to still function. Mace was immediately teleported from the Cave of Origin to Cerulean Cave.

The teleported led to the bottom chamber of the Unknown Cave. Where Tommy awaits. Electricity can be seen around him and waves of jolts zapping into the ground.

Before he can get close enough to him his Arcanine jumped above Mace and landed in front of him. It turned and greeted his trainer with fangs dripping of saliva. Barker looks lethal. It began to slowly walk towards Mace to start an attack...

Mace moved to the side able to dodge Barkers attack. He was lucky he was able to. "Barker it...me Mace...." Mace said scaridly "Tommy..must be controlling you.."

Then Mace turend to Tommy while inching away from Barker. "What's gotten..i..in to you!?" Mace yelled still scared. "You're...evil."

"From everyone that could of made it this far, I am surprised that it is you." Tommy laughed.

"You're so pathetic... look at you. You are scared stiff. Now tell me, how does it feel to be treated like how you treated him? He is acting on his own accord. All he wanted was love and affection... good job giving that to him. Look at your precious Barker now!" Tommy pointed.

The infected Arcanine tackled Mace throwing him away from Tommy.

It turned to face Mace and continued its pursuit against him.

Rain picks up her cell phone. "Yes, Rain Skylark here."

"Skylark, we might have the cure you are looking for," a deep voice says on the other end.

"Who are you, and what do you what in exchange?" Rain demands.

"Only a battle, but be warned, this cure isn't in mass production yet, so it will have effect on only a small group," the voice says. "Meet me at the weather institute."

Before Rain can say anymore, the man on the other end hangs up.

Mace ran toward Tommy about to punch him but Barker bit his cape pulling Mace away. "Barker you were one of my best Pokemon!" He said. "Tommy is controling you, you have to break free!" Barker did not reply, it's face still angry.

Mace detached his cape and took another Smoke Bomb out of his Pocket, He threw it against the wall making a hole. Mace ran through it and hid in an area covred with rocks.

Think Rain, think, there has to be a faster way there than flying, she thinks, and then it hits her, she activates the device she uses to transport her Pokemon, and switches two of them. "Hehe, I forgot all about you, go Auora!" She says, and an Espeon appears out of the Pokeball.

Jake looks outraged. "RAIN? HELLO? MAY I BORROW SOME POKEBALLS THAT AREN'T AFFECTED BY WHATEVER'S GOING ON?" Jake thinks he was being ignored, and is trying to get Rain's attention, while Houndoom is barking loudly out of frustration.

Tommy laughed,

"Is that all you can do? Hide?" Tommy asked.

Barker looked around through the smoke and saw nothing. When the smoke cleared he only saw a rocky wall. After looking around for a bit, Barker heard a rock fall from a part of the wall. It grew angier and opened its mouth. Fire began to swirl around its fangs until it shot out a powerful fire blast shooting it towards the wall and shattering the rocks to pieces with Mace flying out of the debris.

"You have to do better than that!" Tommy suggested.

He hovered higher into the air and began to shoot out more electricity to the ground.

"How did it feel? Hiding in a small prison from a battle. It's not pleasent now is it? Now you know how your Pokemon feels when they are in a pokeball. They are forced to hide in such a small space from battles." Tommy explained.

"And just as you drag him into battles, so will he. Look at how he wants to battle. Doesn't that make you.... happy?" Tommy asked.

Barker turned to the fallen Mace and tackled him making him fly across the ground and hit a reef on the other side of where Tommy is. It seems that there is an underground river in the cave.

Barker turns around and begins to run towards Mace...

"What makes you any diffrent!?"Mace yells to Tommy. "You say we are horrible to are Pokemon but you do the same things too!" But before Mace can continue Barker smacks right into Mace pushing him to the floor.

Mace got up and began to get angry. "I'm not hideing anymore!" He yelled. Suddenly a surge shocked threw Mace's body. As he kept getting angry he got shocked more. The ground began to shake through the cave his eyes furned tunred pure white. It was almost as if Mace's soul was not there anymore something else was. A giant blast shot out of his mouth and headed right for Tommy.

Meanwhile is Mace's head he felt like he was trapped. "I don't feel like I have control over my body anymore." Mace said to himself.
"Of coarse not." A Voice said in Mace's mind.
"Who are you!?" Mace yelled in his head.
"I am yourr Dark Side... I have lived in your body for years. And if something almost causes you to die I have to take over at my own will only to insure that I live with no care to what hapens to you."
"Get out of my head!" Mace yelled.
"Why, you created me through your anger." The voice relpied. "Through hateing your brother."
Mace did not reply.

Back outside of Mace's head the blast was still being direted toward Tommy.
