Chapter 1: Shining Adventures in the Werstoh Region
Footsteps....careful footsteps....then...BOOM!
A wall had shattered on the outside of an ancient-looking temple. Behind the pile of rubble stood a man. The man walked into the temple. Giant walls stood before him, and in the center of the empty chamber, a pedestal. The man walked over to the pedestal, took a pocketknife,
and made a small incision in the palm of his hand; just enough to bleed. He used the blood to trace a strange symbol on the pedestal. at first, nothing happened, but within a few minutes, the walls began to glow. The man studied the glowing writing, as if searching for something.
The person tapped two fingers on two certain symbols; the Japanese Symbols for Hate and Love; and stood quietly.
The chilling breeze let in by the ruined wall behind him had given the man a slight pause. Then he murmured a string of strange words. Upon saying the words, a passageway revealed itself far in the dark corner of the chamber. The man fearlessly wandered on, through dozens of thin narrow hallways. Finally, the man reached a ladder. You could tell it was an old ladder, but it looked sturdy enough. The man climbed the ladder, which led to the ledge of a small hill inside the temple. The man turned to examine the labrynth he'd just escaped, but only for a moment, then he continued on. Finally, the man saw what seemed to be the final room in the temple.
It was a large room, and the darkness seemed to go on forever. In the center was a pedestal, making this room similar to the first chamber. The man fit a strange gem of some sort into a groove in the pedestal. The gem began to glow with a blinding light, revealing the rest of the chamber. Through squinted eyes, the man could make out a large statue at the end of the room. The light from the gem instantly shot towards the statue, which began to crack. The whole room at this point was in a huge tremor, whilst the man was standing in the center of the chamber, calm as could be. The statue cracked and cracked, shooting beams of light from every hole made in it. The man remained calm meanwhile. Finally, a monster of some sort emerged from the pile of shattered statue. It was large, almost as tall as the temple itself, and had glowing red eyes filled with hatred.
The man uttered the same strange words he had said before, and the creature picked the man up onto it's back, and took off, bursting a hold through the temple's wall. "GRRRROOOAAAARRR!!!" it shouted, as it quickly disapeared over the horizon.
"W...w...was it....a....dream?" said a boy laying in the grass on a small cliff. This boy was Chris Treamonte, a Pokemon trainer. He had recently defeated the Sinnoh Pokemon League and had previously beat Kantoh and Hoenn. "Swa?".
"No, I'm alright Skipper, it was just a dream." Chris was talking to Skipper, his Swampert. Chris and Skipper had been partners since the beggining of Chris' journey, and thier bond was an inspiring one indeed.
"Pert?" "You're right, we should get up, it's almost morning." Chris opened up his backpack pocket and dug around for a map. He found it, and opened it up on the ground. "There! Our next destination is...Freshlife Town, which according to the map should be...right on the foot of this cliff!" Chris looked at the map, admiring the many cities and landmarks and such with wide eyes. He rubbed the sleep from his eyes. Then got himself dressed and cleaned up.
He wore a blue sweatshirt, with a yellow "C" on it. The "C" stood for Chris, obviously. In the center of the "C" was a pokeball. He had blackish-brown hair, glasses, and a light mustache. He wore baggy cargo jeans and Nike shoes. Skipper was awake and anxious to go. "C'mon Skipper! The Werstoh region awaits!" The two raced to the tip of the cliff, taking in the beautiful sunrise as they ran. From the top of the cliff, Chris and Skipper could see way across Werstoh's horizon. Almost directly below was Freshlife Town, lit up by the morning sun.
The two made their way to the grassy field below, and headed for Freshlife. "There it is, Skipper! According to my trainer guide, Freshlife is where I'll get to choose my first Werstoh region Pokemon!".
The pair set foot in Freshlife, and almost instantly they felt a fresh sense of adventure surge through their bodies.
The town was small and peaceful, with maybe 10 buildings surrounding a small town sqaure with a Werstoh Region map in it. "Ah, you must be...Chris Tramontee?" said a man standing in front of a large building. "Uhh...yes that's me!" Chris replied back to the man, realizing it was Proffesor Pine. Prof. Pine was the Pokemon Prof of the Werstoh Region.
"So, do I get to choose my Pokemon now?" "Ah, an energetic young lad you are, but patience is the key to new doors, and your Werstoh region adventure is one of them..." said Pine, looking proud of himself.
Great, my first day in Werstoh, and I already have to figure out an old man's sensless riddles....thought Chris. "HAHAHA!" laughed Pine. "My lad, I'm merely pulling your leg! Do you really think I'd make you wait for your very first Werstoh region Pokemon!?" chuckled the Prof. "Oh....uhhh...yeah..." said a very confused Chris. "Follow me, young lad.". Pine led Chris towards the large building he was calling Chris from before. Skipper happily followed along. "Here they are! Narshark, Patchief, and Pygola!" said the Prof, pointing to three Pokemon.
Narshark looked like a small fish, with a brilliant horn erect and red markings on it's face. Patchief looked like a small feline, half green, half white, with a brown marking on it's shoulder, and yellow around it's eyes. Pygola looked like a pangolin, but red and brown with a large round tail. It was finishing it's breakfast, and didn't look too interested in anything going on around it. Pygola looked up towards Chris. "Pygo!". Suddenly Pygola pushed it's way through Narshark and Patchief and hopped into Chris' arms. "Hey there Pygola!". "Pypypy!".
As strange as it was, Pygola did seem happy to see Chris, as though they had known each other forever. "I guess Pygola will be coming with me!". "Golapie!" replied an excited Pygola. Prof Pine handed Chris Pygola's Pokeball, and a Pokedex. "Use this to record data on Pokemon you encounter, and good luck!" shouted the Prof as Chris, Skipper and Pygola darted towards Route 001, ready for the dawn of a new adventure. A Shining Adventure in the Werstoh Region...
