ATHLON VS CONTEST WHICH IS BETTER?

    Pretty much what the title says, the question is:


    Which did you prefer and why?


    I honestly liked the Super Contest better because it didn't really stress me out as much as the Pokeahtlon did. To be honest, I found the Pokeahtlon very difficult

    Pokeathlon > Contests. It takes luck to win a contest, but it takes skill to win in Pokeathlon. I have a bit more of the latter.
     
    Why are there options for neither and both for 'which one is better'?
    Anyways, Pokeathlon easily for me. Although 3rd gen contests give the Pokeathlon a run for its money they were less enjoyable in the 4th gen (boring dress-up part added, dancing bit was 'eh' and a more limited less-strategic main part to it), while the Pokeathlon had far more variety and was imo more fun as well on the whole - and less reliant on luck as mentioned.

    BTW editing thread title so Pokeathlon is not Pokeahtlon. =p

    Super Contests were cool and all, but not only did I have trouble winning them, they weren't nearly as fun as Pokeathlons were. As Bobandbill said though, they were much better in the 3rd gen, when they weren't as 'super' as D/P made them. I guess I just prefer the pokeathlon because it focuses more on action and competition than mechanics.

    Pokeatholon > Super Contest

    Pokeatholon was very fun to participate in and a challenge.
    Super Contest ruined the whole awesomeness of Contest in R/S/E.
    Dressing Up/Dancing was very stupid.
    In 3rd Gen you had different places to participate in, Super Contest in one Huge Building.
     
    Super Contest because Dawn is a Coordinator and she is my fave anime character. I'm shocked the Pokeathlon got more votes. I enjoy playing my SoulSilver but Pokeathlon is way too fast paced and made me get strain in my arm.
     
    Well, i do like super contest but i'm more for pokeathlon cause its more fun and you can do more.
     
    Contests. The idea of putting my Pokemon through some sort of athletic competition doesn't appeal to me in the least. Stylus-based minigames aren't my thing either.

    Yeah, 3rd gen contests > 4th gen contests, but neither was as frustrating than trying to properly control my Pokemon during the Pokeathlon.
