So, just to make it clear, I'm not talking about the video game mechanics with the formulas of catch rates and all that good stuff.
Instead, I'm talking about what the mechanics behind the differences of each type of pokeball could possibly be in the Pokemon universe. So, why are some pokeballs more effective at catching pokemon than others? What could explain those differences between them? I ask because I've never really seen this discussed anywhere. Any wild theories are welcome to the discussion. :P
So my theory is that if a Pokemon is put into a pokeball while it's not in a completely weakened state, it still has enough strength left to try and use its attacks inside the pokeball to break out. Maybe since the other pokeballs are more expensive, they are made with higher quality materials and better engineering, so they hold up better to the attacks? And so then the master ball must be made with the best quality and materials, which is why they are so hard to come by.
That seems sound enough, but then how does it explain dusk balls? Why would they work better in the dark?
