what I mean is it seems like the PokeCommunity forums hasn't has as much activity than before, post views go up slower, it takes longer for someone to make a first post on a newly created topic, not just with mine, but it seems with others as well, I have been real active the last couple of weeks, but it seems the last three days or so business is slow here, I've noticed a decrease in activity... is it me, or is anybody else noticing this?

Activity goes up and down. Give it a little while and it'll fire back up again when something interesting happens. :(

692 people online at the moment is hardly a decrease in activity. And generally when you post it takes longer to load the post then it does if you are just browsing the forums in general. It has been slow the for the last two days but it happens here or there.

692 is that active sessions? or people actually browsing, because my session is still active when I visit elsewhere, so I am still logged in but not currently here, if my session would end, I would need to re-log in when I return... but when I return I am still logged in because my session is still active...

It's Currently Active Users. For example, I'm always logged in as well but I was on the chatroom and someone pointed out that I didn't show up as online, because I hadn't done anything on PC for a while. I'm not sure what the cutoff is, but it's not too long so these people were active within the last couple of hours.

Every time you load a page on PC, it counts you as being online, until you haven't loaded a page for at least 15 minutes, then you're offline.

You must have a pretty slow connection: No problems here for me.
But even if you have fast Internet connection, server problems can still weigh down the speed. I dunno how to fix this, only a staff guy can fix that. But I don't have problems with the speed at all...

The first post and even the thread title states that he's not talking about page loading issues or the like, just the general acitivity of the forum. =p

As said every forum and indeed specific forum sections have their ups and downs with activity. I'd say after the hype of the release of B/W (been a few months now) it's only to be expected that it's died down a bit, and in more short-term views a lot may have just gone into the recent Get Together rather than the rest of the forum.

Some sections also tend to be more concentrated in activity than others. The ROM hacking sections tend to have a lot of posts in a day, while other sections like the main Fanart Gallery takes several days sometimes for a single response.

Yea posting has been a little slow over the past few days... but oh well... not like it's a big prob or anything.
And like bobandbill said... the Get Together had something to do with how active things were. PC got a little spike the first few days of the Get Together.

Point is, if you (or anyone, for that matter) is concerned about the forum activity, make posts that positively provoke people to post (wee alliteration :3). Nothing really can go wrong if you try to be active in an effort to encourage other people to be active, too. :)
