    For lack of a better name.

    Does anyone else feel guilty when they trade for pokemon because you get the exp boost? I kinda do but my first starter makes me feel better. haha
     
    ...I didn't even know the EXP boost thing until recently. But I do feel guilty if I trade one of my more precious Pokemon, like my starter or my first Pokemon ever...I know they're just pieces of data, but it's almost like I start building a bond with them while playing for a long time XD THerefore the only time I've traded my starters were to another game of mine.
     
    Going to move this to Pokemon General Gaming as this wouldn't just apply to HGSS.
     
    Since I'm mainly playing on emulators, I rarely ever do trades (only sometimes for Kadabra and such, even though I leave them as they are most of the time) and instead hack Pokemon into the first route if necessary. And I don't have any problems with that.
     
    I've never found an emulator which could trade with others, if that's what you mean D: What's the name of it?
     
    The extra EXP given is a rather big welcome, so I don't feel guilty about trading my Pokemon from other games over.
     
    I've never been able to trade, simply because of the fact that they had to make those stupid Wireless Connectors only for FR/LG. I never got my hands on a cable, simply because I didn't know there was a Gamestop like a mile away until I got my DS.

    Anyways, the exp boost doesn't matter to me, simply because I can just grind.

    I want that exp. boost, especially in GSC/HGSS where grinding is a pain in the ass. So no, I don't feel bad about it at all. Gotta trade for certain stuff sometimes, ya know.
     
    In Platinum I needed to trade over some Pokemon to put together an in-game team I could live with (added Persian and Flygon). In SS I probably should have, as I didn't and spent half of my playing time grinding :/

    Personally I have no qualms about it. Even with the boosted EXP, my Pokemon still aren't that much higher in level come Elite Four time.
     
    Hmm, I only tried this once on my Emerald. Bad thing is I grinded a *traded back and forth* Lv. 31 Marshtomp (mainly for exp. boost and I loved grinding until my Poke is like twice the level of trainers around a certain area, of course, except for the latter part of the game) and I only had one badge... It didn't listen to me and kept sleeping >.>
     
    I do the exp boost the other way around and send them to Platinum with an exp. share :p
     
    I don't feel guilty. I usually breed stuff on my brother's Pearl, then trade them to my HeartGold exactly for the EXP. Boost. It's an useful gimmick if you have a brother or a second game and DS.

    About emulator training... I'm not even bothered. Kadabra, Haunter, Graveler and Machoke remain like that, even if they're weaker.
     
    I don't feel guilty, I usually ask a friend to breed some Pokémon for me and recently I used my Pearl version to trade some Pokémon over to HeartGold. I don't trade my starter though, they tend to be useful. xD
     
    I don't feel guilty. especially when you are just trying to fill pokedex slots so you get the first evo and just want to evolve it. but both times I've done that I have ended up using them in the team so yea. but either way long as they have a purpose idc
     
    I never feel guilty as I normally trade my starter to a different game, start again on that first game and trade it back for exp boost on both games. It just annoys me how a traded egg doesn't get boosted exp.
     
    I'll be honest, I feel a little guilty when I trade a Pokemon away or stick them in the PC. I know I shoudn't but I guess that's what I get for spending my entire childhood watching people build bonds with fictional creatures.

    Exactly the same!!! I don't really care about the boost though.
