Okay this was a very weird thing when I first read it....

I have the June 04 issue of New Type USA, and within it it has like synopsis's of upcoming episodes on TV in Japan, and I stumbled upon Pokemon. AG episode 69's summary says this (In exact words...)
Satoshi and his friends finally arrive at Touka city. Haruka and Masato were looking forward to seeing their parents again, but then their mother tells them that their father is cheating on her!
That's a storyline that really isn't like common in Pokemon, y'know?

I'll bet that Kids WB won't air it here in the US...

Anyone heard of this or got a comment?

    ohh what is it?
it must be a joke ahahah^^

As far as I know that is right, in that episode their mother apparently suspected Norman was having an affiar with Nurse Joy since he was spending a lot of time with her, but really Nurse Joy was helping Norman with some suprise for his wife.... that's what I heard anyway, I never managed to get the episode myself.

it's true. it's the episode right before ash and norman's gym battle.

caroline (norman's wife) is really upset because there have been rumors in petalburg that norman is flirting with joy, and ash witnesses this. there are mentions of divorce and cheating in this episode, and probably 4kids will ban this like they did with the safari/boob episodes

Well i've seen the screencaps for that episode and the summary proves true...though...i really don't think this sort of storyline will cause problems...it may be uncommon but i don't think it'll be taken that seriously.

wow everybody knows about it o_O

Well we might as well put this episode on the ban list right now -_- I'd like a mature storyline for once, but WB is spineless when it comes to this. Either they'll rework it to say that Norman's wife was worried that he wasn't attending the gym enough or it'll be in the can. A real shame, it sounds like a great episode.

4kids may ban this or (more likely) they will destroy the storyline with some new one that makes barely any sense, such as she is worried his Pokemon are really sick or something.

THey might just change the sotry around a little bit, but i wouldent be surprised. This isent the kinda thing you want 6 or 7 year olds seeing si it?

I wouldn't mind if Mrs. Norman's Wife (is her name Caroline or something like that?) was made in the American version a slightly toned-down version of her worry that he was cheating on her...something softer like she was worried since he wasn't spending enough time with her, or bring up something even more childish, like a "best friend" deal...but they better not ban it, although likely that's what they'll do. Y'know, now that the anthrax scare's been over for two and a half years they could probably stand to air The Ice Cave now, but that's probably out of the question too =/

Ice Cave had another reason for being banned too :/

It was because a woman protested Jynx which is why all bits with Jynx in recent episodes have been killed and the Ice Cave ep is gone too

Oh, cool, drama! I love drama. I hope they air it, seeing as it would a change for the BETTER, hells yeah! We need more mature episodes and storylines!

Im all with ya on that Nick, they should have a second Pokemon series, a more mature line with real villians, real relationships, more drama and deeper storyline! lets poke the creaters of Pokemon until they do that :P

    I doubt that'll ever happen...

Actually, before I knew it was a storyline like that, I knew a site where you could download AG Ep 69, but for some reason I cant download from that site anymore... I could try again, but uh yeah...

EDIT: Blah, still no luck, apparently they removed all their complete episode downloads for some reason, its their 404 Error page that comes up.... I shall look still for the episode.

Heard about this a while back on Pokemopolis. Anyway, it'd be cool to see, but [sarcasm]God forbid that we show anything that could show kids anything that could provide them with a picture of real, mature things! At least if it's foreign![/sarcasm] Either it'll be severely toned down (Beauty and the Beach, I think it was) or banned. Just a little parental pressure, and all th cool stuff goes straight out the window.

I'm looking forward to see that day arrive. Advanced Generation is coming close to that with Team Magna/Aqua (real villians) but not as near as the Raikou Special IMO.
But back to topic: I highly doubt the dubbers are going to leave it as it is, they're probably going to change the storyline into something else (it's quite amazing how creative dub writers can twist a storyline around).

As for being banned. I'm having faith that it won't happen. The dubbers made Brock's mother die where as in the Japanese version she simply abandoned her family. So, why don't let this episode in while their at it

I read about that on tvtome.com. I agree that they'll probably butcher the script. You know, they wouldn't have to if they just slapped a higher rating on (i.e pg13, tv14, 15+). Of course, then they would probably have to show it on cartoon network's adult swim at like 3:00 in the morning or g4tv's "anime unleashed" at around midnight, so they would probably lose a lot of viewers. If you really think about it, keeping the material kid worthy is the best thing for the people making the show, even if it really stinks for everyone out there who watches it that's over ten.

    Yeah, it is completely stupid.

Samuria Jack is meant for kids, yet it has all this cutting creatures' heads off,
and other voilence that abuses me. If the Dratini episode was banned, why not the entire series of Samuria Jack?
