I'm almost done with the graphics, really. I just need to finish Birch's Lab and your house. I could release some mapshots right now, but they would be very outdated, so I'm probably not going to bother to do that until I finish the new tileset.

Excellent, thank you for the banners.

I've now finally finished the outdoor Emerald tileset, and inserted it into a dummy ROM. All the new tiles are HUGE improvements over the older ones. As of now, I can't release actual screenshots, as the block data isn't yet. Yes, there's always something left to do...

Would anyone here just like to see pictures of the new tiles? Not actual screenshots, just how they look with the correct palletes.
 
This one's an interesting hack. I like the idea of using 2nd gen with story and everything from 3rd gen. I hope I can get this running on meboy...

And I would also like to see those screenshots...

im waiting 4 this too, because i have like 2 or 3 hacks in my phone :P
 
So are the tiles ready for public "consumption?" XD

Of all the up-and-coming hacks this seems like it has the most going for it... clever idea, skilled and dedicated hacker, etc etc
I don't think I've seen anybody do a successful "premake" yet
 
I have the tiles completed, but several of the tiles, such as Birch's Lab and Your House need some work, so I won't release everything, but here's a short example of what the new tiles will look like.

Please keep in mind that is just a preview, and several of the tiles have improper palletes, such as the Mart Door.
 
yes, we know that are few tiles, but it looks amazing, the pokemart is better than i imagine

Thanks. Also, there will be somewhat of a new story. I'll keep the storyline very similar to Emerald, but a lot of new events will be added in. For instance, G/S/C has a night/day system, along with Weekdays, which R/S/E did not. There will be a lot of easter eggs and minor events that will strongly rely on that feature. Beside that point, I'll also be adding in major events. I really don't May was too much of a rival, so there will be a new rival that will make several appearances, the first one being in the Demo. That person will be an entirely new person. However, you can expect cameo appearances of older characters, and full-on events with older characters. I'll be posting some new tiles soon, possibly several maps.
 
There will be double battles in it?? They would be hard to put in
 
I just wanted to give my support. I'm really interested in this, so remember to keep up the good work, but don't work too hard. We don't want you getting burned out from stress. :)

I'm seeking an alternative to double battles, as they would be nigh impossible to add them in. As for the Battle Frontier, I'm really not sure. I've actually never played Emerald before. I originally owned Sapphire cartridge, and played it then. At that time, I had a really crappy computer that couldn't run any Pokemon games past Ruby/Sapphire without hovering at 50% speed. That's actually why this project was originally called "AncientRuby" However, I recently got a brand new laptop, which is why I changed this to a Emerald premake, as my laptop could easily run those games. However, I just haven't had the time to get further than Petalburg in Emerald, but I can assure you I'll do a full playthrough of this game on an upcoming long car trip.
