    Hi everyone!

Sorry if this seems a little unconventional. I did not see anything of the sort on the list of what would generally be seen amongst the articles, though I am interested in writing about the psychological effects of playing Pokemon and related games (i.e. Pokemon Go), and somewhat how it relates to how relevant it has stayed in current culture.

Of course, I totally understand if this would be something that was a bit much. I just think it would be interesting! Though, also, I realize that I am also pretty new :,) I had been kind of lurking as a guest at most, and I would totally get that that would be a reason as to why this concept is a little bit more out there.

Hi there, and welcome to PC!

I am open to that topic for an article. Could you please describe some more specifics about those effects that you wanted to write on, and how the article might look like?

    Hello-hello!

I kind of wanted to talk about the fact that Pokemon GO, especially, have assisted a lot of people in becoming more social and helped people get out of the house more often, or how Pokemon as a whole has impacted people throughout. I also intend to cite articles.

By "how the article might look like?", do you possibly mean the structure of it, or something? Just to clarify so I know better how to answer the question.

Sounds like a good topic. Should be a good amount of resources to point to for that topic.

And yes, loosely speaking. Structure, how long. Needn't be determined right now/can change as you write it as well. The topic is the main thing and I like what you proposed for it.

    Okay, really cool!

I think it should be maybe mid-length, so I am thinking about 300-500 words long? We'll see, of course. Not too sure about the actual structure though.

This is very cool! A +1 from me!
Are you a psychology student? Have you any interest in adding some eventual things such as changes in the brain as well? (I study Neuroscience). I heard but never really read about some brain changes in Pokémon players, especially about memory.
Let me know if you need any help, even with scientific articles.

I'm not a psychology student; I actually plan on going into CS and Anthropology as my main fields! But, I used to be very interested in psychology (and I still am! - just to a much lesser extent, since I have not had the time to really pursue that interest), though specifically I was interested in the effects of trauma on the brain as my main thing. For me, I have mostly read literature on how Pokemon has helped players be more engaged to their life and how it has been able to increase their social interaction. But I would love to chat and find some articles!

I think we have a good base for the article, and confused_piplup also posted approval, so idea approved!

@poisonsting Please PM me a desired username and email address (can match your account here, doesn't have to) so I can make you a Daily account for drafting the article in.

In the meantime, we probably should also muse on what to use for the cover image. At worst something from the many images for GO could be used given that's a focus of this article?
