Merry Chirstmas, also thanks for ignoring my post Luca ;)

Merry Christmas to you too! And I did? Oh....sorry I did :D. I see what you mean with the bars and stuff. But I'm not going to worry about it too much now, in my oppinion it's not that big of a deal.

Merry christmas Luka! May you have many many presents, and I hope them to be pokémon-related. :)

Yesterday I decided to redo the Essentials Pokedex. Since the Pokedex script Poccil originally wrote is something I really don't understand, I decided to do one from scratch. Now....I'm sorry if I sound cocky, but I'm just in love with myself of what I've done:D Anyways...I've managed to replicate the exact Pokedex (few things are different of course) that is presented in Pokemon HG/SS, and this is the end result:

This was by far the biggest wow I did (in my opinion) and the scroll bar is surprisingly accurate too :)

It's still not fully finished which is why the bottom buttons haven't been filled up yet.

VERRY PREDDY! LOL :D but seriously, it looks really good. Is this like the same as the HG/SS Pokedex? I haven't paid much attention to that yet.

I personally dont like the DS lay out, you have more potential if you do a layout similar to commercial PC games like Maplestory or Oblivion, fallout and games like that. LIL pop up menus for item and pokedex. not changing the whole screen. And you have to keep in mind you are devving for the PC not GBA and DS, make it full screen.

Jaw promptly falls to the ground in sight of this well lets say it epicness.
Blue chrome is so good looking well i don't know where to start...
Well what i can say is that this isgoing to give Nintendo a run for there money.
Because this is just magnificent.

nice pokedex, but are the white spaces on the bottom going to be actual buttons to search a specificate pokemon?

Thanks guys for the nice feedback. But since I am Luka, I like to complicate everything with my designs. So I made it look more PokemonBlueChrom-ish. The Pokemon sprite is animated and loops every 10 frames to the second frame and then first and so on. Also color changing is no exception here so it returns to the Pokedex.

actually, this looks way better then the first pokedex you post.

Keep up the good work :D

Even better you are making a stupendously great effort to add many a unique twist to this game. Of which i am very proud to see.

Do you know what would be awesome? If you made the speed of the animation depend on the Pokémon's base speed. That way, a slow Pokémon like Slowpoke would animate slowly, while fast Pokémon like Ninjask would be more active.

That's a really nifty idea acctually. Honestly....I'd never think of it. I might just do that, I'll have to look into the whole data method first though.

That would be slick!

Anyways, yeah Luka, those were the shots I was waiting to see. Once I saw you had your code work done, I was looking forward to seeing what twist you would add to it graphically to fit with your game.
So I held my breath waiting for those.... Luckly you didn't take too long :P
Looks nice. Very clean and clear.

You're using the pbOpenDexData and pbDexDataOffset methods to get info such as weight and height already, right? The base Speed is also stored in the dexdata.dat file at an offset of 13. It's a single-byte value; however, the lowest and highest Speed of existing Pokémon are 5 (Shuckle, Munchlax) and 180 (Deoxys-S). I would organise it using ranges; for example, 0 to 50 Speed would be very slow, 50 to 70 quite slow, 70 to 90 average, 90 to 110 quite fast, 110-130 very fast, and 130+ ninja :P
