Despite being featured continuously in the anime and manga, Pokemon Contests only made it's debut in game with the introduction of RSE at the Contest Hall in Liliycove. Since then, the only other time it's made an appearence in game was the DPP era, in the form of Pokemon Super Contests in Hearthome City. I personally am a big fan of contests, and the introduction of ORAS which will bring back the contest system will definitely generate some discussion with regards to it. Do you like in game Pokemon contests? What do you think you would like to see changed / implemented in the ORAS remake with regards to contest mechanics and whatnot? Discuss away, this is not limited to ORAS, but rather Contests in General.

I really liked Pokemon Contests, and although I was a huge fan of the Hoenn ones, I think I find myself liking the Sinnoh ones more. The three stages were pretty fun since they were all different and not too difficult, although I never really got a hang of pleasing the audience in the dress-up stage (just a minor wrinkle, because I still won a lot anyway!), so if I had to change anything I would probably tweak the first stage a bit. The concept of three judges in the final stage just added an extra, yet not too difficult challenge. However, probably my favorite addition of all was the dress-up accessories, and how you could collect more as you progressed through the game.

I don't think I ever beat every contest level, but I probably came somewhat close since I remember spending a lot of time playing contests in DPPt. I would love for at least the dress up and three-judge stage to return in ORAS, however, I would be fine with just remaking them as they were originally.

Yeah, DPP was definitely a step up from Hoenn. I could never do the second stage whcih required tapping, but made up for it in the third stage through appeals, and the main part of the contest. Yes, maybe some tweaks to the system would be great. But contests were by and large fairly smooth in my opinion, so don't need to fix what isn't broken. I would like to see an expansion to the accessory system as well, it adds an entire new layer of novelty to the whole thing.

I really enjoyed taking part in the contests in RSE, it was definitely the facility I've used the most of any of the Pokemon games. I loved Berry Crushing, earning Pokéblocks, Ribbons and I just found the whole concept really fun. I'm intrigued to see how they re-create (and perhaps expand) upon the Contests in ORAS.

I personally wasn't such a huge fan (you did get rewarded with ribbons, but they weren't exactly necessary or important in any way), but it still was a fun thing to take part in.

I'm very interested to see what changes they bring to this system in Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, if at all. It'd be great, I feel, if things were more animated, and everything were shown as if it were some short movie clip, if that makes sense! This'd give it a more anime-like feeling, and make Pokémon Contests a more enjoyable experience all together.

Yeah, it took me a long time to grind that perfect Pokeblock, and I was probably a master at doing it by then. Ribbons were something that I really enjoyed, they gave me a real sense of achievement once getting them. I remember when I won the Master Rank Beauty Contest, the feeling was pure joy.

Yeah, it was definitely fun, and more importantly, a break from the usual training and battling that every game boasted. If they do the animations right, contests would be a really enjoyable experience. I also hope that they intensify the difficulty of the AI, and hoepfully with that more guides pertaining to contests would pop up, and I'd love the idea that one day contests would get so popular that people would be breeding Pokemon solely for the contests.

Contests weren't really a main aspect in my RSE journey - I did play with it a couple of times, but I never took it really seriously and I don't think I've ever won in a contest before. xD It changed in DPPt, I'm not that serious with it still but I did play it more often and had tons of fun. The fact that they added dressing up and dancing was amazing, and made it really feel like a contest, although it wouldn't hurt to add a few tweaks here and there! I fell in love with the anime contests as soon as I first laid my eyes on an episode and I'd really like it if they made contests like that, but that would probably be too much to ask for haha. Maybe a spin-off?

A spin off would be great, but I don't think they would actually even think about doing it unless contests really took off in ORAS, something it's never done before. Not many people love contests, but nobody knew that Mystery Dungeon would be such a hit when it first came out.
