Um. My comment was in Bold. (Not the one below the first Bold comment). As for everything else, it was part of boo836's Post. So yeah, he's the one you're lookinhg for. :P

yay octillery!

octillery@leftovers
ability - suction cups
nature - quiet
moves -
1. substitute
2. surf
3. fire blast/ice beam
4. energy ball/hp electric/charge beam

worked well for me, energy ball with fire blast already has a great coverage, and the common electric/ice type coverage. substitute is to get by how many things octillery is outran by. surf is for stab

Octillory: @ zoom lens **medusa
Trait: sniper
Evs:124 def, 136spatt, 124 spdef, 124 hp
Energy ball
charge beam
Fire blast
Surf

I also thought of a funny flail set but is just useless.

You can put Focus Energy on that set as it allows it to deal huge amounts of damage with sniper, it also raises Crit hit ration by X2 which is nice.

Also you can put Scope Lense on it to raise crit hits *Gets Shot* but seeing as its a hax item and therefore banned, i wouldnt advise it.

i just use plain 252 SP ATK/252 HP choice specs octillery. it's quite bulky and never disappoints with its attacks.

Octillery works well with Speed Passes.

Octillery works well with Speed Passes.

Not choice sets though.

And masquesrain? Woah...hold on, I have an OLD set from an old Netbattle NU team of mine...gimme some time to dig it up and convert it to 4th gen terms, lol

Could be a NU special tank.

Masquerain-Leftovers
Calm-252 HP, 182 SpDef, 80 Special Attack
Haze/Ice BEam/Agility
Hydro Pump
Roost
Stun Spore/Air Slash/Baton Pass

AgiliPassing or Hazer or attacker

if they would've retained its bug/water typing, it'd be well worth the use. since it isn't, the only thing i can imagine giving it is a wide lens or choice scarf set. the wide lens set would revolved around switching it in on physical attackers so it can intimidate then use stun spore or retaliate with hydro pump/air slash. scarf would be focused on hazing and getting in ice beam/bug buzz to sweepers weak to it.

could also run choice specs, but that's a long shot given its bad speed and mediocre defenses. could probably do well against bulky waters and grounds, but it has difficulty everywhere else.

Masquerain: @Wise glasses
Nature:Modest
Evs:252 spatt, 252 spdef, 6 hp Don't know but this is a try.
Energy ball
bug buzz
air slash
ice beam

Also,it could maybe be a phazer.

Possibly a weaker special tank in NU. (Well it's not really a tank because it still has bad hp but don't all NU pokes?)

Edit: Wow, I didn't see that midnight winged already said he could be a tank.

Meh, Masquerein is tricky to handle.

Masquerain @ Petaya Berry / Leftovers
Trait: Intimidate
Nature: Timid / Modest
EVs: 252 Speed / 252 SAttack / 4 HP
- Substitute
- Agility / Baton Pass
- Stun Spore / Bug Buzz / Toxic
- Haze / Whirlwind / Swagger

oh how low this thread has dropped.

This thread MUST be updated. I have no idea what's going on.

Masquerain

trait: Intimidate
Moveset:
Agility
Bug Buzz
Air Slash
whirlwind/baton Pass/roost
Items: Focus Sash
evs: 216 spd/252 sp.atk/36 hp
nature: modest (+sp.ak,-atk), timid (+speed,-atk)

Abysmal stats and pretty bad typing but it's movepool isn't too bad and has a lot of options in the final moveslot once it hits agility. It doesn't have the special attack to sweep but it can do a little bit of damage with stab special attacks air slash and bug buzz. As for the final moveslot you can either whirlwind your opponent away if you don't like the matchup, use roost to recover damage or the most viable choice, baton pass the agility to the next pokemon in line. Whirlwind can just give a worse opponent, or masquerain can just get knocked out before it can use it. As for Roost, it doesn't have neither the HP nor the defenses to use it effectively

Sorry guys. Been really busy with other stuff, but will get to it. Big changes coming for this thread soon, so don't worry. However, I have a new Pokemon for everyone:

Grumpig

THANK YOU! This thread does need it's constant supervision.

YAY! GRUMPIG! He is a very valuable team member of mine. Here is my set:

Grumpig@Leftovers***Lumas
NAture:Calm
Ability:Thick Fat
Psychic
Charge Beam
Rest
Magic Coat/Thunder Wave
EV:252 HP, 52 SP.ATK, 200 SP.DEF

This is the Pig on my permenant team, & it works wonders. Magic Coat is just a personal favorite. It is very fun to use, especially on those bastard Flinchkiss & dumbarse Dusknoir who always try Will-O-Wisp. It even stops Metal Sounding Heatran (Har har! You know who!)

Thunder Wave, though, is the superior choice. Less situational. I'm not only the Vileplume/Noctowl man, ya know!

Been DYING for Grumpig, I have the funnest set I've been running with that thing that is really lol and fun to use.

Grumpig @ Macho Brace
Trait: Thick Fat
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SAtk / 252 SDef
Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Trick
- Psychic
- Reflect
- Light Screen

My preferred choice for the massacre of mixed infernape. Macho Brace will slow down anything, and is also great for Hera switch-ins.

Then it pseudo-passes to a sweeper to allow it to takes hits while you wipe out a pokemon or two. You can also run the likes of Grass Knot over Light Screen for attacking options against swampert and the likes.

Oh, Gengar will always try to shadow ball you, which will result in quite the speed drop lol

EDIT: As is Twave, sims' post reminded me of that :P

EDIT 2: Thunder Wave is actually really good for slowing down an entire team.

But also, if you're lucky enough to trick macho brace onto a choice item user, you can use a trickband strategy later. For example, if you trick with a specmence, you can come in later and use trick to put choice specs onto something like a steelix. It's fun to play around with.

anti, no offense, but i don't see the point in tricking macho brace. it's a moot choice of item when it has thunderwave. risking the chance of getting a choice item or an item bad for it in exchange for the opponents speed being lowered... eh.

Or, if you Trick Macho Brace onto Forretress. Not so fun there, huh?
