Gym Badge Challenge: The Dream Themes
Dream Theme Challenges:
Enough Choices to Make It The Happiest Place on Earth
Intro: Welcome to my challenge thread where there is a lot more than 1 or 2 challenges with simple rules. Here there are many choices with different difficulty levels and fun combinations. Welcome to my party, you can have some awesome hardcore Pokemon Teams if you want to.
Rules / Notes: Unless otherwise stated, most of these challenges are considered completed once you defeat your game's E4, in HG/SS/H/S/C you have to have all 16 badges.
You may also suggest challenges for this thread. If I like it, it will be added to the list. When using this thread to suggest themes, make sure to read the other challenges in both my forum and others. I try to make themes based on fiction, other video games, or whatever floats into my head.
The requirements of each theme will be laid out in an order showing the challenger the required Pokemon, types, colors, egg groups etc. There might also be moves or types banned in the challenge so keep a look out for that.
Challengers, if the challenge you take up has move restrictions or requirements please update with your Pokemon's moveset I love reading frequent updates, but if your posting more than 3 images, or writing more than 4 paragraphs remember to use the /spoiler to shrink down the forum size a little.
You may use a hack for your challenge as long as it is completed enough that it has an Elite 4, or something that leads to the credits.
Unless the challenge requirements say otherwise trading and hacking are only allowed if none of the required Pokemon are available legally before the first gym.
Unless the challenge requirements say otherwise emulation is just fine.
In order to participate in this challenge you need to say your username or name you want to go by, the theme you are going with, and the pokemon you know will be your starter/first attained.
Unless the challenge says otherwise, no legendary Pokemon will be permitted.
BADGES / ROAD TO CHAMPIONSHIP: Each Challenge is worth a certain amount of badges, if you manage to get 8 you are the champion of this thread, of course if someone gets more badges than you than you shall be dethroned, but you get to remain in the Hall of Fame.

The Challenges
Easy Challenges (Worth 1 badge Each)
Intro: These challenges are meant for the casual player who is just looking for something fun to do while replaying one of their favorite versions, so they can try a few Pokemon they haven't played with in a while.
SAFARI CHALLENGE *image removed*
Grab your gun, or Pokeball, I won't judge you, whatever you're into. We are going to hit the dry plains and see what Pokemon you can't hunt down.
Rules:In this challenge pick an established Pokemon game (meaning not a hack), it doesn't have to be the version you are playing for the challenge. Look up the Safari Zone for that game, any of the Pokemon that are catchable in the Safari Zone (Minus Pokemon that can be caught surfing or fishing, there is no watering hole on this Safari) are available to your team. You may only pick one Safari Zone, meaning you can't have R/B/Y Safari Zone pokes mixed with R/S/E Safari Zone pokes. Also allowed on your team is Donphan, Giraffarig, (that Zebra thing from Gen V D, Stantler, Chatot, and Primeape.
HEART OF A LEGEND
Oh I bet you're thinking "Finally a challenge where I can guilt free use a legendary Pokemon" Well you're wrong. You can't. I'm not that nice of a person. Instead your team reflects everything about the legendary Pokemon without having that Pokemon on your team.
Rules: Go to your favorite sprite site, I am using Pokemon Elite 2000. Pick a legendary Pokemon and I'm going to use Kyogre for this one.
First you may only play games from the generation that Pokemon is in. So you load up your R/S/E game. Right away I can pick out three colors from this Pokemon. Red, blue, and white. So 1 pokemon in my party has to red, 1 blue, and 1 white. You may only have 1 of each when it comes to colors. No more no less. Since you are required to have four or more Pokemon in this challenge let's look at it's typing. Kyogre is a pure white type, so for the rest of the slots on your team you may use any water types. Also no TMs may be used in this challenge, all your Pokemon's moves must be obtained naturally.
COFFEE
Another very simple theme I've come up with for the easy category. It is celebrating the thing that helps me get through some of these Pokemon games. Coffee.
Rules: In this one the rules are simple. Your party may only contain electric types, and Pokemon that's primary color is brown. If it's not an electric type it can be no other color. The party starts from the coffee bean. For a few added rules none of your Pokemon may know sleep powder, yawn, hypnosis, or rest. That would defeat the purpose now would it? Also: Psychics and Poison types are completely banned.
HUMAN INFLUENCE (Contributed by Brewds567)
Pokemon are part of nature and the very essence of their world. At least that is what someone very ignorant would say. Not all Pokemon are created equal. Created being the key word. This challenge celebrates the Pokemon man made through either genetics are some unique engineering.
Rules: In this challenge your list of available Pokemon is extremely limited. You may only have a party that consists of Magnemite, Porygon, Shedninja (only a trainer can assist in its evolution), Rotom, Ghastly, Trubbish, Grimer, Unown.
All these Pokemon are allowed to evolve, and you are only allowed to hack one in (at a level lower than 10), or trade for an egg of the needed Pokemon if you cannot obtain any of these before the 2nd badge.
Average Challenges (Worth 2 badge Each)
Intro: These challenges are still no "Nuzelocke" but will result in several trips to the Pokecenter as you struggle to keep your team well balanced and strong as your moves, and even evolutions are restricted
Nintendo Challenge *image removed*
In a world where 3 different consoles dominate the video game world forcing gamers to pick and choose sides and debate with one another, remember, you like Pokemon, so just keep on filling Nintendo's wallet. Sony and Microsoft silliness put aside Nintendo brought us some of the most iconic video game characters, and this theme celebrates that.
Rules: 6 Pokemon will be required for this challenge, each have their own requirement that relates to a Nintendo character, some will also have a move requirement. Each Pokemon must be named after the character they represent. The party layout is as follows:
MARIO: To celebrate the man that represents Nintendo one of the Pokemon in your slot most be red, (the offical color chart can be found on bulbapedia, no shinies) as well as have any fire attack for when you find that special flower power.
YOSHI: Where would Mario be without his faithful lizard? In this slot your pokemon must not only be green, but also be a lizard/have scales. Sceptile, Turtwig, Snivvy, etc. Make sure to post in the forum if you are not sure that your Pokemon qualifies.
3. DONKEY KONG: If this Monkey didn't exist and insist on capturing Peach and throwing barrels there would be no Mario. Celebrate Donkey Kong by using a monkey Pokemon (Primeape, Infernape, etc.)
PEACH: If only this girl would stop getting kidnapped. Use a pink Pokemon here, and your pokemon representing the Princess cannot be male.
LINK: That sword weilding homie? Of course I suggest you use a green Pokemon for this- oh wait it has to be harder. NFE green Pokemon since Link likes to start out the game as a lil boy. Just unlike Link I don't see why you should grow up.
PIKACHU VS. KIRBY: I wanted to use Kirby, but the Peach challenge already requires you to have a pink Pokemon. So either a Pink Pokemon for Kirby, or a Pikachu (Can't evolve to Raichu, but feel free to use Pichu) the ultimate Nintendo Gangsta
Lore of the Fairy *image removed*
This is what happens when a girl makes themes. I love all the pokemon from the fairy egg group (which can be looked up on bulbapedia), and one of my favorite Pokemon is Butterfree. So with this challenge we will be recreating a beautiful fairy garden.
Rules: In this challenge there is a small array of Pokemon you are allowed to use. You are not allowed to use any other Pokemon that do not meet the following requirements: Any Pokemon from the fairy egg group, any Pokemon with bug wings (Butterfree, Yanma, etc.), or any Pokemon with flower petals (Roselia, Vileplume)
Adventure Time
No. Not that Cartoon Network show. I'm thinking of all the typical fantasy stories and have come up with an epic adventure for your trainer to embark upon. LOTR got nothing on you!
Rules: In this challenge you have to keep your starter, but once they evolve into their 2nd form they may never evolve again. (make sure to get an everstone or save often, if you mess up feel free to breed it to get another). Why do I require this, because the best hero is always unlikely. Duh. Now your hero needs a loyal steed, so a horse Pokemon. If Ponyta or Rapidash isn't in your game any other 4 legged hooved creature will do. Now for a sword, you need a steel type of course, but only one don't get greedy. If playing gen 1, when such a thing didn't exist, you are a primitive cavemen and will be required to have a rock type. The rest of your team is open to any dragon, fire, or bug.
Rainbow Road ~ Contributed by Alternative
Monocolor is always fun, but how about a nice array? Only catch is one per color and in order.
Rules: In this challenge you must have a team of 6 Pokemon, and each 1 must be a different color to represent all 6 colors of the rainbow. (Red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple). The must also be caught in order. You must have your red Pokemon by the 2nd gym, (if your starter isn't red you may use it for help up to the 2nd gym. Even if it meets the future color criteria you may not use it again as it isn't a catchable Pokemon). You must have 3 pokemon by the 4th badge, and 6 by the 7th. NFEs are allowed, and no legends. ALSO all 6 pokemon on your team must be caught with a different pokeball, so no 2 pokemon on your team can live in the same ball (unless you're playing R/B/Y or FR/LG for you may use 2 pokeballs, 2 great balls, 1 ultra ball, 1 masterball).
Digimon Crest Challenge ~ contributed by Digimon Kaiser
I won't lie I love Digimon way more than Pokemon, even though they are just Pokemon with a whole bunch of guns strapped to them. Digmon has offered a lot of great RPGs as well (Digimon World 2 being the best), but Pokemon has more going for it. So to make it a bit fun though and add some variety you're allowed to pick one crest, and depending on the crest effects the team you must complete the game with.
Rules: Pick a crest and follow the rules for each crest. 6 Pokemon must be on your team
Courage: 2 Pokemon on your team must be fire types, 2 must be orange, and 2 must have scales on their body (meaning lizard or fish). TYPES BANNED: No Grass types, no grey or white Pokemon
Friendship: 2 Pokemon on your team must be ice types, 2 must be blue, and 2 must be a four legged sprite (Absol, Lillipup) TYPES BANNED: No fire types, no yellow or brown Pokemon.
Love: 2 Pokemon on your team must be flying types, 2 must be red, and 2 must be a Pokemon that evolves with the power of love (if an earlier game 2 fire types). TYPES BANNED: No water types, no blue or yellow Pokemon.
Knowledge: 2 Pokemon on your team must be bug types, 2 must be purple, and 2 must be a steel type (if an earlier game Magnemite and Voltorb is all I'm giving you). TYPES BANNED: No flying types, no green or pink pokemon.
Sincerity: 2 Pokemon on your team must be grass types, 2 must be green, and 2 must not exceed the height limit of 6' 8' https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wi...mon_by_height TYPES BANNED: No ice types, no red or orange Pokemon.
Responsibility: 2 of your Pokemon must be water types, 2 must be white, and 2 must be a Pokemon that has a tail BUT YET has no wings. TYPES BANNED: No flying types, no purple or green Pokemon allowed in this club.
Hope: 2 Pokemon on your team must be normal types, 2 must be brown or yellow (1 color no mix and match), and 2 be a NON-BIRD flying type. F those Pidgeys It's all about the bugs and dragons
Light: 2 Pokemon on your team must be normal types, 2 must be white or pink (1 color no mix and match), and 2 must be a FEMALE cat Pokemon (If an earlier game where this isn't possible than just 2 more normal types)
Hard Challenges (Worth 3 badge Each)
Intro: These are challenges where there is going to be hair pulling, angry resets, and many trips to the PC to maybe deposit your Pokemon forever.

3. If a Pokemon in a family is extinct, you may not use that family again.
4. You may breed a dying family (they must have fainted twice) and use the egg as a replacement. That egg must go by the same rules as 2. Trades must be in the same family as the dying Pokemon and must follow the same rules as 2.
