Who thinks GameFreak should come out with a remake of these games in current or future generations?

I don't believe that there will be another first-generation remake any time soon. Right now, we've got OR/AS coming up in a couple of months, and once that'd done, many are expecting to follow up on their pattern and start developing remakes for Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum.

Once DPPt remakes are finished, it will eventually lead us to remakes for Black and White, I feel, as well as Black 2 and White 2. Later, it would more likely be X and Y. Would I personally like to see something again for Red, Blue, and Green, though? Sure, why not? They were my favorites, and while I did experience them again with updated features and whatnot in FireRed and LeafGreen, it would be even more fun to play with X and Y style of graphics and mechanics.

What would be even better, in my opinion, is if they were to create remake Pokémon Yellow. I understand that it was made just to tie-in due to success of anime and so forth, but it shouldn't hurt to give it a shot once more.

I see what you're saying. Think about this though. Ruby and Sapphire are being remade right now. They're third generation games! Maybe FireRed and LeafGreen are next! It is almost the 20th anniversary of the game's first release after all.

EDIT: I think it would be really cool if they made it so you could go to Johto either before or after the game has been beaten. It would be awesome to see what Johto was like before the player from Gold/Silver/Crystal began his journey. Who agrees?

EDIT AGAIN: Endless, a remake of Pokemon Yellow would definitely be cool as well.

I think a remake of Pokemon Yellow on the 20th anniversary has the most chance of happening imo.

A remake for FR/LG? I don't think so, dude..they currently working on OR/AS...why would they jump back to the beginning...but i do believe that they gonna do a remake for Yellow...but i don't think they gonna do another remake for FR/LG...like Endless mention, they probably gonna continue making a remake for Platinum/Pearl/Diamond and further generation...

I'd love to return to Kanto. But with a different story this time around. There's no reason they can't completely switch it up and make it fresh again since I don't really understand the point in remaking a remake.

Actually, that's a pretty good idea. They've got a ton of regions out there so far, and instead of adding more continuously, it be more wise to use their previous ones every once in a while, I believe. One plus side of it is, this would allow them to limit themselves from injecting more Pokémon into the games, whose number is growing day-by-day, making it even more tough when it comes to completing PokéDex and whatnot.

I think we have a rather recent thread about there being Red/Blue remakes on 3DS, but nevertheless, i'll try to answer this.

I don't think this is something I would really want to see. They can't keep remaking the same region over and over just to please the nostalgia freaks. If I want to go to Kanto I still have FRLG and even HGSS, even if the latter's not the same. I even saw an article naming franchises that need a reboot, and they said that after Black 2 and White 2, which they said were the biggest signs of how much the series was declining and how out of ideas they were (which is horse s***), that Game Freak should go back to the original 150 if they want to keep the series prime. (That was before XY were released, though.) What a joke.

Sorry for not noticing this until now, but as the above poster had said, there's already a thread similar to this, which could be found right over here. Due to that, I'm afraid I would have to lock this. Could we all head there to continue our discussion, please? Thanks!

    Thread locked.
