Pokemon from previous regions in BW?

As many of you might already be knowing, apparently, we won't be seeing any of the Pokemon from the previous regions in the BW Anime except for Ash's Pikachu and Team Rocket's Meowth.

Do you as a viewer, want some of the older Pokemon in Unova? Also, do you think Ash would use any of his Pokemon from the previous regions participating in the Pokemon League?

I'm kind of half and half on this :P

In a way I want this region to be seperate, without any other regions pokemon (not incl. pikachu/meowth of course) so that it feels asif it's starting a fresh as I felt Sinnoh relied far too much on past generation's pokemon.

However, I do want to see Ash's pokemon come back in the pokemon league, and to see how the people of Unova will react to them. :)

    Spoiler:

Not really, and I think it is quite a good idea. It does follow the games views a lot, it's like a whole new start. In the BW games, you didn't encounter an old pokémon like in the previous games, for expample; Zubats, Magikarps, Geodudes, Pikachus - They're all new pokémon (untill you finnish the main story and get the national dex) but yeah, like the games - a whole new set of pokémon.

I would like to see some of Ash's other Pokemon in the Pokemon League. He'd have a huge leg up as not many people would have seen those Pokemon before. However if we do see another non-native Pokemon it will be for a very special reason not just a cameo. We may see some Hoenn Pokemon advertising the remakes.

If we get RS remakes we might see a Hoenn trainer, and towards the end of BW we'll probably see some 6th generation Pokemon as well. Those are the only ways I think we'll see previous Pokemon. I have a feeling Ash isn't going to use his older Pokemon for the league, considering that he's very likely to catch more than 6 Pokemon this time. This is a bit off-topic, but I really want Kingler back. He swept an entire team in the Pokemon league all by himself, yet Ash never uses him.

Do I want to see some of his pokemon come back sure. The likelihood of it happening I really don't see that so much, since this is a new start and all. And if Ash really is going too have a revolving rotation then he will probably catch a decent amount which means he will have a two team rotation(hoping) around the time the league comes around. If they have a Saga like Battle Frontier then I could see that happen, were past pokemon make a reappearance.

I don't think we'll see any of them. It's kind of sad in a way but I suppose it's good to show off the new Pokémon too. I like how they make Unova completely seperate but I hope they don't act like none of the others ever even existed.

    Spoiler:

I'm really hoping he doesn't go the Hoenn League route and use only Unova pokemon (with Pikachu of course). Back then I believe it was said that he would have a leg up since Kanto pokemon are rare in Hoenn as well. So who knows?

As for other trainers, IMO it depends on how many new pokemon we see leading up to the Unova League. If we haven't seen most of them (which I suspect we will have seen most) then most of the competition will probably be using Unova exclusive pokemon. But who knows? Throughout the entire region though I highly doubt we'll see any as the show will want to show off all of the new Gen pokemon as much as possible.

I'd love to see every one of his pokemon he currently owns in Unova sometime. Especially the old gang together like when he faced off against Brandon: Pikachu, Bulbasaur, Squirtle, and Charizard. Gible should get it's chance to evolve, and poor Torrterra needs a win under it's belt (Team Rocket doesn't count).

Just a question, do we know FOR SURE if he's having Professor Juniper look after some of his pokemon? I mean it's not like sending them to Professor Oak is that much of a hassle. Or maybe I missed something?

Honestly, I wouldn't mind if a non-Unova Pokemon appeared in BW. To me, the point of Gen V is to give a rehash of the very first series.

Hmm...that "alternating teams" might annoy me as Best Wishes goes on. It was OK in Kanto and Johto during leagues, but now it just seems weird. Especially since he apparently ditched all the Unova starter Pokemon for a Sewaddle (unconfirmed, though). I hope we get some decent Unova evolutions and Kanto Pokemon cameos, though (Charizard FTW). I'd like to see the Unova citizens' faces when they see a Charizard wipe the floor with its foes in the Unova region. :D :t006: I'll wait and see how Ash's alternation of Pokemon works out as BW progresses...

I know you say "unconfirmed" but how is that even remotely possible? If anything there is more proof to saying he sent Pidove to Professor Juniper (or Oak) for Sewaddle since all three starters and Scraggy are in the preview for the next episode minus Pidove.

Huh...? Where did you get that info...?
To tell the truth I don't see that coming ;)
He probably sent Mamepato to Araragi-hakase in order to have Kurumiru. And he will probably have Meguroko and he'll give Zuruggu to Iris (according to beta arts)

Yes ;) Have you seen episode 18? It had been said there =)

I forgot to mention that they mistook Tepig for an Umbreon already so there's definitely a possibility. I doubt any of Ash's Pokémon will return but I think there's still a chance other trainers might use some of the older Pokémon (to a much lesser extent than the last four regions though). They'll probably either be really spread out or else a trainer from another region will show up with some of the previous Pokémon.

The only place I'm getting the "unconfirmed" thing right now is from Bulbapedia. Currently, if you go to Ash Ketchum's Pokemon page and look at the template at the bottom that showcases his current party, only Pikachu and Sewaddle are confirmed to be "on hand" in his party. A few other Pokemon, including all of Ash's Unova starter Pokemon, are listed as possibly left with Professor Juniper. I'm only on the first 2 episodes of Best Wishes, so I guess people who watch the Japanese version will find out the actual state of things in BW019.

Well in a preview for BW019 it shows Oshawott and Zuruggu and Snivy so they most likely will stay. The writers probably won't choose the region bird over a starter pokemon and since pidove sucks, ash keeps tepig.
Pikachu,Scraggy,Oshawott,Snivy,Sewaddle,Tepig < most likely the team.

Yes, I have seen that page and noticed the party listing is only Pikachu and Sewaddle. I think it is that way because we know for a fact he sent one of the other pokemon to Professor Juniper but we don't know which one. The preview for the next episode strongly suggests Pidove was sent.

I'm sure we'll see some eventually. Pokemon can probably migrate like animals so we may just see some later on in the season. Besides, Ash normally switches some of his older pokemon in for special battles anyway

I always thought it was awkward how Pokemon from the previous regions (Japan) are extremely rare in Unova (New York City). It's miraculous that no Pokemon from our previous regions were ever introduced to Unova by humans or that none ever migrated over there themselves or on human vessels. I guess Unovans are just xenophobic. They're all-American!
