Pokemon...Government?

So like there are the powerful Pokemon who reign over the weaker and it is a mutual agreement between each being?

Yeah, Anarchy is one thing.
At one point I think the Pokemon League runs the whole region. The Champion serves as the Furor or something like that... The lowest ranks must be the Gym leaders or Officer Jenny-police. The whole "Defeat all eight, Conquer all four and Replace the Champion" must be the voting system. I see everything as a military ranking system...

There are mayors to each city(At least ibn the anime), and monarchs.
What about the president of the Pokemon League/assosciation(not the champion), maybe he is like the prime minister or president.

Mr. Goodshow? I think he's just...like the company president...otherwise, Mr. Stone would be PM of Hoenn xD...

There's a central government, because all the regions are one country.

It seems the whole idea of war among nations/country isn't present, of course, it is a kids show. Team ___ seems to be the public enemy of sorts, although all teams have different goals. I don't see any military forces besides the occasional Officer Jenny (who might I add is fabulous). I don't know, I know I'd like to vote for Slowking in 08!

Really? Where does it say that? Didn't Surge fight a war in America?

im not sure about monarchy, because if you played pokemon xd for game cube then you'll remember that the towns do have mayors. so if there government is like ours then what are the rules? the only law we all probably know is that you can't abuse pokemon

Hm, well... it seems a lot FRIENDLIER than our world. Theyhave some executives, but no Kings nor Precidents. I think the basic economy in the Pokémon world runs through the funders. People chippin' in to help Pokemon... because everyone seems to LOVE Polémon, regardless

At some point, though, I hope we see the "Earth" of the Pokémon world, and perhaps its leaders
Ah, about the no Kings thing...well, I'm thinking about the 8th Pokemon movie, Lucario and the Mystery of Mew. Sure, that kingdom doesnt run the whole world, but...

But no there isnt much of a goverment in Pokemon...yet again, the creators want us to be stupid enough to not think about these things so they can continue with the ever present and growing old 'IMABECOMEAPOKEMONMASTERANDGETPWNEDEVERYLEAGUE!' theme

Who knows, but, what about religion?

Really? Where does it say that? Didn't Surge fight a war in America?

In Diamond and Pearl, Prof. Oak explains that Sinnoh, Kanto and Hoenn (and probably Johto and others) are part of a larger country.

i always thought it was a system of tribal confederacies, much like the persian empire under the rule of Darius 1. each province ruled by a satrap or governor(mayors) with generals(gym leaders) to moderate the major's power.

I made a thread like this waaayyy back in August but no one replied. D= Oh well here's what I put. ^_^

-----------------------

Has anybody looked into the form of government the Pokemon World contains?

I've noticed these:

Anime: The Pokemon League at the top of the hierarchy with the Juunsa' (Pokemon Officers/ Officer Jenny) and the Pokemon Center for health-care. Various monarchies...but pretty vague on others

Manga (Pokemon Special): Now this rendition contains the most coherent form of government for Pokemon. The Pokemon Association (Council) wields most of the authority in this rendition (All three branches of Government essentially) with a separate one for each reagion. With the Gym Leaders acting as proxy/guards (Ambassadors and Protectors of the various cities). With education under the Pokemon University in Celadon City. And WHAT??? They have Universal Health-care under the Pokemon Centers (Talk about socialized medicine LOL >_<)

Wow even though it's subtle the Pokemon World is a lot more progressive compared to ours. There form of religion is "Harmony with Nature" (Hearthrome City's "Communal Center?")

Oh well add you're thoughts on the PokeGovernment no matter how subtle.
Also if you see other governmental agencies please add.

Here in Britain we've had Universal Health care for 60 years, lol. Most civilised countries do nowadays.

Seems like the only form of ruling there is in the Pokemon world, by humans, is being attempted by Team Rocket/Magma/Aqua/Galactic, etc..

The Pokemon world has no Government, and it's better off than our world is. xD;

ah very true, very true. but still there's gotta be someone that governs it. i mean if they have a police department they've got to have a legal system governed by someone

The Pokemon world is better off than ours without a real government because it's fictional. That and they have a herd of 10-year-olds running around to take down anyone who does anything wrong ;)

I knowz...heh RL Politics has been in the forefront for me in this US election . UHC! UHC! We want UHC! XD

Anywayz, at least I know somebody read my post since the answer to the Religion question is there too.

So yeah nobody replied to my old thread about this. D=

But the anime is very vague on this. At least PokeSupe answers some of our questions (Especially the RS arc) EMERGENCY LEVEL 9! =P
