Pokemon...Government?

I always just assumed that the League was the government. I can't think of any other group of people besides a government that would actually make it legal for animals to battle each other. Not to mention, every single police agency in the world seems to be connected to Pokemon and the League in one way or another.

ive nevere thought about it, but id say like brock is the leader of Pewter and the league are the main goveners who overrule (sp?) Gym Leaders wo make a bad descision
 
Does anybody actually have a job that doesnt envolve Pokemon in anyway in the anime?

I agree what type of goverment think its normal for 10 year olds to be able to leave home and not come back for years???
 
I think the e4 lead all battling affairs for the regions, gym leader's under them, and the leaders (If it could be called that) are the professors.
 
I have another government theory Pokemon league is the highest government it rules over the gyms and the poke centers and the police force the poke centers control the poke mart and also the Pokemon trainers the police station also helps govern trainers Because it is a huge deal on the fact that there are ten year olds running around carelessly The Gyms also control the poke centers

Well maybe since they do have police and mayors there is a functioning government system.
 
Idk... I think the world is kind of run by the Pokemon League officials. I mean, you don't see any war between the regions which means there can't be any politics. The world of pokemon seems to completely revolve around pokemon. There economy and everything. I mean even beasuc services like building bridges and stuff is done by pokemon. Its kind of like the yugiph anime. There entire economy was based off of the card game... god that was a dumb show...
 
IDK. There was that mayor, and the Mirage Kingdom royal family, but I do wonder how they managed to keep the Pokemon Centres free without government funding...
I guess it's kinda... Communist.

At one point I think the Pokemon League runs the whole region. The Champion serves as the Furor or something like that... The lowest ranks must be the Gym leaders or Officer Jenny-police. The whole "Defeat all eight, Conquer all four and Replace the Champion" must be the voting system. I see everything as a military ranking system...
