I just recently stopped by Gaming World and saw your posts in the forum. Obviously those guys love your game, and w/ good reason :). This is looking very promising, definately one of my top 5 games around here :)

Good point. I don't really want to start all the stats coding from scratch when it's already being done. I'll hold off for a bit.

Hopefully this demo will be as near to perfect as I can possibly get. I've released two demos of this game and neither one was particularly great.

Thanks. Yeah I've been getting positive comments on GW, which can only be a good thing. Those guys are brutally honest, when they don't like something they let you know in the worst possible way.

EDIT: By the way, I've finally started work on the breeding system. I should have it working with at least 4 different Pokemon for the demo. Other than that, I've just been building up the maps and routes. Heres a new screen:

Those guys are brutally honest, when they don't like something they let you know in the worst possible way.
I know i made a pokemon game posted it their and it was locked >_<

If you want help with the breeding system, give me a shout - I am the resident breeding expert here, after all. :-)

But I have to say, this is looking sweet. Although I think the PC CBS might blow you away in terms of variables ;-)
 
Awesome screens phoenix! Where are the trainers going to be?

LittleFacistPanties- I think the trees were supposed to be the thing that would represent the bug part. If you think about it, there's not much Pokemon chipsets that are just meant for bugs.
 
Well I think it looks great. The inside of the gym looks like it's 90% themed to Fire though. Maybe you should add some stuff to represent the bugs XD
Yeah I thought the same. I can't think of what else could be used to represent bugs other than trees without anything looking out of place.

Thanks. There will be 5-6 trainers. 2-3 will be placed enroute to the leader so you have to battle them and the others will be placed around the gym where you can choose to battle them.

The chipsets aren't a problem as my graphic designer, SaintBeast, can do great things with chipsets, we just don't know what else to add.
I've written some pretty cool sidequest story scenarios recently and it's going to be a lot of fun programming that so should finally see some screens of the actual story pretty soon. That is after I can fix the font in my rm2k. I had it fixed before but after my computer got wiped out it's gone back to the crap style. I've downloaded the font patch but it doesn't make a difference. I think I've got a crap copy, anybody got a link to a good one?

Use FrontPage or some other HTML editor.

Good idea. I've got a layuot done and added most of the info I have, it looks a bit(lot) plain though. Hopefully SaintBeast will sort that soon.

On to game news: I've just programmed a cool little Rock, Paper, Scissors sub game into Hidden Depths. I thought it would be something cool that you can play with npc's instead of just useless chat. It's supposed to work similar to YuGiOh Sacred Cards where pressing one button will chat and the other will play the game. You can win money from most people but some special ones will hand over TM's and Pokemon. Let me know what you think about this, I'm not sure if it strays too far from the series.
I might post a screen but it's not really much to look at, at the moment.

The Rock-Paper-Scissors thing sounds like a cool idea.

I think it would be funny to have some Rock-Paper-Scissors Guru hidden deep in some cave or something :P
