Ruby hack: Pokemon Infinity

Thanks, guys. I've currently changed the grass/ground tile to one similar to the HGSS one, in that it has a less visible pattern, yet is still textured so it doesn't look blank. I've also changed that flower tile to one more colourful. Currently, I'm mapping a forest area. I've re-thought a bit of the story, and some map ideas have changed accordingly.
It should also be of note that Manipulation has offered to script for Infinity, so when I actually send him some script requests I'll have some good screens for you. I will of course continue learning scripting myself, so I won't always have to rely on him for them, therefore avoiding possible delays (nonetheless, thanks alot, Manipulation :) ).
An update of the first post is coming soon- I've done enough to be able to replace ALL of the screenshots there with their new Ruby-based counterparts, so... Yeah :P
 
Your graphics are wonderful, but I have a question.
Why did you switch the Rombase from Emerald to Ruby?
 
Well, I didn't really have a choice on the base. I was adamant about using Emerald, but when I'd write scripts, the Map data would become affected. I'd be able to write maybe two NPC scripts, then when I write the third one, the game would be affected. No matter what offset I pointed the scripts to, or whether I used 00 or FF as the free space byte, the maps would corrupt in-game. After expanding the Rom, I couldn't actually compile the scripts to the expanded area, as A-Map and XSE didn't support 7 digit offsets. So my only option was switching base. I could've used Fire Red, but there aren't many english Ruby hacks, and I like it as a base, anyway. The extra OW slots were also handy, as there are a good few different characters in the story that require custom OWs as opposed to recycling the NPC ones.
 
Sorry for double posting, but I decided to go back on my word and show another map. It's the Player's hometown, Budloom Town, It shows the house tiles (edits of FR ones) as well as the new Flower tiles. The red one is the main animated one, the white/yellow ones are the ones that looked like concrete before.

Your choice of palettes makes it appear as if the imaginary sky is a gloomy gray.

Is your region a rainy one? That's kinda cool, because where I live the clouds are always gray, and I always feel at home whenever the clouds are like that. I liked how in Pokemon Platinum, if you play around the Jubilife routes during morning, the environment really looks like the clouds are gray.

...being honest, I hadn't noticed. But I didn't picture Ohmma as being a particularly sunny place, no. There will be various dark/gloomy/rainy places, such as the Avast Woodlands, which are yet to be revealed. Though there's also sunny beach areas, such as Coralshore City (mapped, but also not revealed yet). I plan for various terrains to be in Ohmma, but I'm taking it slowly, to make sure everything is geographically possible (ie, you wont be going from a desert to a snowy area or anything like that). Even though the world map was the first thing I planned, I've had to make some changes because of the different terrains I've planned.

EDIT: I wasn't lying about changing the flower tiles, I have better ones. Here's the same mapshot, but with the other red flowers:

This hack looks awesome so far. It's also nice to see a Emerald, or at least Ruby for now, base, because, as you said, it's different.

Is there anything that I can help out with? I'm good with storyline stuff, and I can (sorta) sprite, and (maybe) edit the titlescreen (need practice). So if there's anything I can help with, just tell me!

Anyway, yes, as some of you may have noticed, Infinity has been locked. Well, you will now, anyway, but- okay, to the point-

Since I returned t school I've been busy as heck, and rarely get near the computer. As such, progress has slowed drastically. I'm locking this, because... well I don't really see the point in it being open at the moment.

I will be continuously working on Infinity when I have the time, however the next time you see it will be a total surprise- no sig-teases, no... Sig-teases...

So yes, Infinity has a future, it's just distant.

I would appreciate if people would not contact me regarding Infinity, as I'll simply ignore you and I dislike having to ignore people, generally :P

On that note.. Closed~
