Name: Greg Cho
Age: 25
Trainer Class: Gym Leader
Blood Type: AB+
Ethnicity: Japanese
Favorite Color: Green
Birthplace: Saffron City, Kanto
Physical Appearance: Greg stands in at 5' 7" and weighs 152 lbs. He has short stringy black hair, which is kept short, neat, and trimmed and has black eyes. He is toned and muscular, and through persistent training, he has kept a lean body. For facial hair, Greg has hair neatly running along his cheek bone which merges with the jaw line to the chin. On the chin, there is long hair much like that of a Billy goat, which is kept neatly together with a black hair band close to his chin.
Accessories & Apparel: Clothing-wise, Greg like's to keep things simple, relaxing, and more importantly, flexible. A pair of black jogging sweatpants and green shirt with a white stripe down the middle is all he needs to properly train as well as fit his own tastes. He wears black and white running shoes for footwear, and also has a sword holster on his left side to hold his katana. The sword's handle has groves to hold his six Pokémon, three on each side.
Personality: To most, he would be what could be considered the traditional martial artist. Greg is very stern, silent, and very focused on the task at hand. Incredibly disciplined, he is not prone to fits of anger and has been seen to be quite gentle with his Pokémon and the trainers who patron his Gym when outside of battle or training. With ten years of Pokémon training under his belt, he is looked up to for his wisdom in regards to training Pokémon efficiently without stressing them out beyond their limits. Due to his upbringing, Greg is slightly sexist, and is shown by the fact that he only trains male Pokémon. This flaw, however, does not present itself when training female members of his gym and is more of a personal feeling. His seriousness does not make him the most joyful person to have a conversation with, though he does posses a miniscule amount of humor.
History: Born the only child to middle class family consisting of a martial artist father and gourmet chef mother in Saffron City, Greg was raised in a very traditional household. With his father's influence, Greg had an early introduction to the ancient forms of combat. At the age of six, young Greg started to train with a Scyther his father had caught him as a birthday gift. Daily, they would train together at the fighting dojo which was overshadowed by Sabrina's gym filled with psychic Pokémon. At the age of fifteen, Greg received his black belt in three forms of martial arts; Taekwondo, Kung-fu, and Karate.
With fifteen being his family's age of 'manhood,' Greg was tasked with the same goal as his ancestors before him; to venture out on his own and become a reputable fighter in his own rights. As Pokémon battling had been a common show of strength for numerous years now, he received approval by his father to drop out of high school to venture out and compete in the Pokémon League. For years he traveled and trained with his Pokémon in the various regions until he felt he was ready to face the Indigo Plateau.
A Kantoen at heart, all the Pokémon he uses in battle are from his homeland with the exception of Bastiodon, who was included into the ranks for its shield-like qualities. Greg trained his Pokémon expertly to the point of them learning to obey attack commands given by the various sounds Greg makes with his sword. His Pokémon are all male, as his journey is a test of his masculinity, Greg feels that it is only right that his Pokémon be male so that they may go through these trials together.
At the Pokémon League, Greg fulfilled his family obligation to become a recognized fighter. After long and atrocious battles with other trainers and then the elite four of Kanto, he won the whole enchilada and became the Champion for that year. Afterwards, Greg took more time to himself to train, either with his friends at the Saffron Dojo, or by himself. Four years passed by very quickly as he continued his daily training routines with his Pokémon, who have no since evolved to their strongest forms. Recently, he received a letter requesting that he take a position as a gym leader in the region of Almia for the outstanding discipline possessed by both his Pokémon and himself.
Using it as another way to test him, his Pokémon, as well as the next generation of trainers, Greg accepted and became Gym Leader of one of the five Gyms. His specialty revolved around weapon using Pokémon, substituting claws for weapons in the case of his Kingler, as well as insisting that a shield is just as important as the sword. Greg also keeps Alakazam on the team, being a strong supporter of the notion that a strong mind is the mightiest of all weapons.
Goals: Greg has already completed his goal to prove himself as a man, and now seeks to simply train with his Pokémon to improve on their abilities. As a Gym Leader, he hopes his teachings will inspire and allow others to follow the same path he has chosen.
Gym Layout & Challenges: The Gym Greg resides over is fairly simple and resembles a typical dojo. It is a stone rectangular building with a red shilling-clad roof. There are large windows near the top of the walls to allow sunlight into the interior. There are a few rooms within. The first room is a small cafeteria where trainers may eat a healthy meal of rice and other assorted energy yielding foods. Then there is a small weight lifting room to help tone a trainer's body. Greg has a small office in the back of the Gym. In the center, and also the largest room, is the training/battling arena. To face Greg in a Gym match, once must simple battle three trainers. After being defeated, the Gym trainer will give the badge seeking trainer a pre-set challenge. After successfully completing the third challenge, the Trainer will earn the right to face Greg in a battle in a 3-6 Pokémon battle
Type: Weapon users. While not a type, Greg uses Pokémon that use a weapon, blade, or claws.
Badge: The Weapon Badge. It is a bronze circle resembling a Spartan shield with a claymore long sword and halberd axe crisscrossing in the center.
Reward: As an extra bonus to his Gym Badge, Greg also presents those who best him with an imitation sword of his own, made with common stainless steel as opposed to the special steel used to make his and other katanas.
Starter: Scyther
Pokémon Team
Scyther:
Greg's childhood friend and sparring partner. A gift from his father, Sycther has been by his master's side the day the two met. While normally an aggressive species, Scyther has learned to control his rage through years of training, which has given him tremendous discipline. At this point, he chooses not to evolve into his more powerful, yet slower form, as he has been trained for years to use his speed to his advantage.
Marowak:
Originally a cubone, this Pokémon ventured out on his own for months after getting separated from his parents. Malnourished and weak, Greg found him on the side of a trail on a hot summer morning. Giving the young Cubone water, he offered it to join his party and to grow strong. With no other ambitions or goals established for himself, the Cubone accepted. After toiling for weeks training to the point of exhaustion, Cubone finally evolved, and learned to master the bone he wields in battle much like his master does the sword. Now with a set goal, the Marowak wishes to become an expert fighter almost as much as his master does.
Alakazam
An odd addition to Greg's team of fighters, the sword master wanted to have a thinker on his team. Greg stumbled upon him by accident while he was sleeping as an Abra. Wanting to get the jump on him, Greg ordered his Cubone to hold the Abra down while he got out his Pokeball. Abra woke up and teleported onto a tree branch to mock the trainer and to show his own superiority of the human race. Not defeated yet, Greg skillfully slashed his sword in a few precise movements, triggering his Scyther from 15 yards away to perform a quick attack. Before knowing what was going on, the Abra fell to the ground and Greg caught him. Since then, he has been a great addition to the team. With his telekinetic powers, Abra was able to transport the team to choice training locations, as well as communicate with the trainer directly through thought alone. As years went on, Abra evolved into Kadabra, and then finally into Alakazam. Out of his six Pokémon, Alakazam is the only one who does not take orders through sword slashes, and instead chooses to read Greg's mind. This ability can also be used to act as a translator to other Pokémon, although he finds lowly jobs of this manner to be below his skill.
Kingler
Kingler was caught as a Krabby along the beaches of Vermillion during training on the beach. The Pokémon snipped Greg's foot, and then proceeded to rampage around to mark the dune they were in as his own. Using Scyther, Greg easy caught Krabby and trained it into a Kingler, who is now his most docile Pokémon by nature.
Farfetch'd
Farfetch'd was won in a tournament that Greg took part in. His kingler was in a match to determine which Pokémon was the strongest. Kingler's grip barely managed to beat a machamp who had a four armed advantage. Farfetch'd was intrigued with Greg's swordplay and started to imitate him on his own before taking any formal training. Now trained, he acts very prideful of his abilities and enjoys boasting to other Pokémon.
Bastiodon
At Mt. Moon, Greg found a Dome fossil. When at Cinnabar Island to have it resurrected, a trainer from another region wanted to trade. Greg came across this trainer in the past and he shared food with Greg and his Pokémon when Greg was low on supplies. The trainer had an Armor fossil and wanted to trade for Greg's. While not liking non-Kanto species, as well as wanting a Kabutops, Greg accepted the fossil trade as a sign of gratitude to his acquaintance. Now resurrecting a foreign fossil, Greg was surprised that he had a defensive Pokémon in the form of Shieldon to compliment his offensive ones. It evolved into Bastiodon and is very grumpy by nature, giving off an old man persona.

Name: Lawrence 'Slim' Fox
Age: 22
Trainer Class: Elite Four
Blood Type: O
Ethnicity: American. Part Irish, Scottish, English, Cherokee Indian, Dutch, and German.
Favorite Color: Yellow
Birthplace & Hometown/Region: El Paso Texas, moved to Fuchsia City, Kanto
Physical Appearance: Lawrence has long dirty blonde hair that goes down to his shoulders, which is usually just kept hanging and messy. An average height for his county, at 6' 1," his father would call him a lightweight, seeing as he weighs 173 lbs, which makes him a bit skinny, compared to the rest of the family. From working on a ranch all his life, his genetically light skin has taken an almost permanent farmer's tan, with the area his wifebeater is worn and his lower section being the only pale areas on his body. He has snakeskin boots with spurs on the heels. Lawrence has dark blue eyes and a fairly muscular build and has no facial hair.
Apparel & Accessories: Lawrence dresses like the typical cowboy and is never without his leather cowboy hat. For comfort, he wears blue jeans tied with a black belt, featuring a prominent buckle with a bull's head being featured on the buckle's face. He wears a wifebeater while toiling out in the sun, but casually wears a plain red shirt, with a tan cowboy vest ontop. Around his neck is a black bandana which is brought up to his face when caught in a sandstorm. On his hands are tan hide gloves used for hard labor. Around his waist is a special holster band capable of carrying two of the items he's famous for; the Poké-Revolvers. (Operation is described below.)
Personality: Upon a first impression, Lawrence gives off the notion of being a talkative jokester with an almost obnoxious sense of humor. He is incredibly light hearted and won't miss a chance to either crack a smile or try to get others to do likewise. Incredibly outgoing, he attempts to become the life of any party, and to most, is fun to be around. Having and adventurous and competitive spirit, it won't take much to get Lawrence to try something new, especially if he thinks he can conquer it, making everything into either a challenge or competition of some sort.
History: Lawrence was the oldest son to a family of ranch owners. At an early age, he was working to earn his keep, starting with the small jobs such as collecting chicken eggs, to increasing more difficult chores. Lawrence regularly attended school like most children, but was no interested in actually learning as he was becoming the class clown. He was the exact contrast to his little brother Dwight, who was an all honor student. While growing bored, Lawrence took up many different hobbies including juggling, gun slinging, unicycling, karate, and lassoing. Lawrence was naturally gifted with great hand-eye coordination, which allowed him to master juggling and gun slinging, but his balance and lack of patience and discipline forced him to abandon karate and the unicycle. He tried out for youth sports, and was mediocre at best in terms of athleticism. These traits were often to bud of jokes from Dwight when they'd argue, who would insist that Lawrence should join the circus and marry the bearded woman.
When he turned thirteen, his family moved to Fuchsia City, which is where he first experienced Pokémon. He thought they were "fun lil' critters," and wanted one for himself. His mother father took jobs at the Safari Zone, and it wasn't long before he followed suit, wanting to see how these creatures compare to animals, and to stretch his legs in the Zone's immense plot of land. It was here where the Kanto native workers taught Lawrence about the various types of Pokémon, their strengths, and their weaknesses. After hearing about the Pokémon League, Lawrence thought of his brother, and how he was always cooped up in his house studying and learning like some sort of knowledge mole. With the best intentions in mind, he traveled to Pallet town, retrieved a Squirtle, and presented it to his little brother. His brother was astonished and happy, although sad. His parents broke the news to Lawrence; that Dwight was accepted to college at a very early age, at fourteen with a full scholarship paid for by Silph Co. and was thus unable to take part in the League.
Lawrence didn't want the new partner to go to waste, and started the journey himself after parting ways with his family. He found it easy for the most part, and living out in the open made him feel alive. Along the way, he encountered many Pokémon and paid a second visit to Oak in Pallet town to explain the situation. Oak then gave him a Pokedex, and asked him to fill up as much of it as possible in three weeks, challenging him to catch 45 different types. He accepted, and took a few trips into the Safari Zone, free of charge thanks to him being close to the owners, and caught every type of Pokémon found the area. He then ventured out into other areas of Kanto, finding even more Pokémon. At the end of the three weeks, Lawrence return to research lab with a Pokedex filled with information of 44 different species. Lawrence lost until he noticed a pokeball on the counter that Oak had laid out for him to take. Opening it, he found an Eevee, which brought his number to 45, and thusly completing the challenge. After this Pokéhunt was over, Lawrence started the gym challenge. He spent a year training and winning badges. On his first League challenge, he managed to go all the way to the top, beat the Elite Four, and somehow managed to lose to a Greg Cho, or as Lawrence called him, Greg Chump.
When returning home, Dwight surprised his brother with a pair of very special items that he developed with another intern at Silph; the Poké-Revolvers. They were shaped and acted like revolvers, but used pokeballs instead of bullets. To load it, the gun opened up like a standard revolver, and pokeballs in their portable (smallest) state would go into each of the six chambers. The gun has two modes, catching and releasing. Catch mode will shoot out the pokeball that is loaded into the chamber much like your typical gun, extending the range and accuracy of the pokeball compared to simply throwing it. The Release mode is used to send out already caught Pokémon for battle and such. In this mode, tiny mirrors surface from the inside of the gun, and redirect the red beam that releases the Pokémon out of the barrel, with the Pokémon forming around ten feet away from the trainer in the direction it is shot out at. The design was not made by Silph, and was an invention conceived by both Dwight and some other intern….something Harrow or some other such nonsense.
After his defeat, he decided to venture out into Johto. When he arrived, he saw even more Pokémon that he never seen before. Here, he decided not to catch any, and continues to use Kanto Pokémon, as it's what he's use to. While not really liking the Pokémon in Johto, he saw no reason why he shouldn't beat the hell out of them, and took part in Johto's Gym Challenge. Once again, he went to the finals at Indigo, and this time emerged victorious. After returning home with the title of Champion, he started to compete in tournaments and gained a reputation, and his Poké-Revolvers became a huge part of his popularity. Years after his win at Indigo, he received a letter in the mail, asking him to be a member of the Elite Four in Almia for his adaptability and adventurous training style.
Goals: To live life to the fullest and to eat the world's largest chicken Caesar wrap….and maybe president of some country.
Years Champion: 4 years ago – Kanto
Gym Layout & Challenges: Lawrence's room is a metal room with an arena in the middle. For the battle, he hands his opponent a Poké-Revolver to battle with. Each trainer loads their opponent's team into the gun and then spins it before handing it back. The trainers, not knowing what Pokémon is in which order, battle without being allowed to switch their team in or out.
Type:None
Winning Reward: Winners will receive a Poké-Revolver as a prize, courtesy of Dwight.
Starter: Squirtle
Pokémon Team
Wartortle- Male- Ted
Received as a Squirtle. Lawrence named it Ted because he thought it would be funny. He is loyal, as well as one of the team's powerhouses, although Lawrence likes to tease him and tells him to grow up so he can carry the 'big guns,' referring to Blastoise's water cannons.
Eevee - Male – Kip
Given to Lawrence by Professor Oak. He is the most loyal, and looks like a dog, so he received a dog's name. Kip has picked up his trainer's habit of liking jokes, and likes to nip the heels of others as a 'joke.' Kip also enjoys walking with his master instead of staying in it's pokeball
Golduck - Female – Dopey
Caught in the Safari Zone as a Psyduck, it got the name Dopey from "always having a stupid look on its face." After evolving, its increased intellect found the name irritating and demeaning, and she cringes with every order he gives her.
Golbat – Male – Screech
Caught as a Zubat in Mt. Moon, he got his nickname after using the loud move of his namesake. After evolving, Lawrence's favorite joke on Screech is to tell him to shut his big mouth after using the move. Screech doesn't mind, as the stupid gag isn't hard to deal with in return for free meals.
Rapidash - Buck –Female
Traded as an egg, which he traded for his dratini, although the trainer who originally had the egg did not know the Dratini's name was Noodlebutt. The egg hatched into ponyta, and has been his was to get around for years. Lawrence had a special fireproof saddle made so he could ride her comfortably.
Tauros - Male – Longhorn
Caught in the Safari Zone, the Tauros has the least character out of all members of the team, but is usually angered and likes to be left alone when outside of battle. Lawrence only gained his trust after bull riding him for fun, and Longhorn grew tired and was unable to shake him.
