Kreep was surprised, to say the least, at Max's behavior. He had just expected the conversation to move on. That's what he had been aiming for in the first place. But, still, for some reason, he was glad that it didn't. Even if he was a little angry at Max for saying he looked sad, Kreep had to admit he was probably right. Besides, even though Max didn't seem like the type, here he was offering Kreep a chance. Usually, Kreep would have already started a fight with someone by now, or they would have judged him. This fighting type, however, would let him talk. But, Kreep just couldn't. He was the big guy, the tough guy, the bruiser. However, Kreep wouldn't mind being able to let out his feelings in another way. "Thanksh... Shat guyth ovfer theresh, we thidn't getsh ofsh to a goodth shtart. He doesthn't liketh me, and I shdon't really likesh himf. But, that doeshn't mather. Howth abousht a shmall shparringth matchsh?" Kreep asked, his moods already lifting a bit. When he put it into words, the situation didn't really seem like that big of deal anymore. He was tough guy. No matter what happened to him, he could surely just muscle through. So what if Shierk liked Rani. She didn't really like him... No, that wasn't the way to think. It doesn't matter what she thinks, because he didn't need her. Kreep was a tough guy, and someone like Rani would only hold him back. As for Shierk, he was just a nuisance. They didn't have to really be at each other's throats all the time, even if the show off, wanna be bad boy elekid did get on his nerves. Everyone else seemed like they would be good allies to have in the fight against Darkrai. He would be fine. Kreep looked at Max expectantly, hoping he would agree to having a small fight. This could be exiting.

So it was some sort of unrequited love triangle. Max felt kinda bad for Kreep, I mean how would you feel if you crush/love didn't like/love you back? It seemed pretty sucky, but Max couldn't relate, never having fallen in love with anyone and others tended to steer clear of her most of the time so she was pretty sure no one crushed on her. At the offer for a small spar, Max's eyes lit up with glee, finally she'd be able to fight someone. "Hehe I could probably perfect my Close Combat too, sensei did once tell me that a Pokemon often learned new moves when fighting" grinning Max nodded "Sure! I've been itching for a fight all day!" Max clenched her fists together eagerly, before glancing at Mack, her grin slowly faded and she looked at the Magnemite apologetically "Oh shoot Mack I'm sorry, I said you could help me train and we were gonna have a spar weren't we, but it'll be okay for now if I hold it off right? I promise after this we can train!" After saying that, Max stepped a few feet away from Mack, she didn't want to occidentally hit him while she and Kreep were sparring, she felt her muscles tense as she got into a fighting stance, the effects from her earlier Meditation had not worn off just yet, so her attack power was definitely higher than usual "I sure hope you don't bruise easily dude, I have a habit of leaving my opponents in pain, so don't say I didn't warn you!" Max grinned at Kreep and waited for him to make his move.

"Alright!" Len said happily when Haley got water gun down. "Good work. geez that was better then my aim" He said to himself. "Alright. Lets keep shoting targets with our attacks and..." Before he could continue he could hear a scream coming outside saying "R-R-RAAANIIII!!!". Len, Sounding sort of ticked said "aw geez, are they REALLY killing theirselves out there?" Len took another peek ouside the window only to see alot of stuff happening. First was that Elekid who, from len's view, Was talking in his sleep, with Rokan trying to wake him up. "Geez, He must be having some dream out there..." Len thought about the whole dream thing for a second... "....Nah... He doesn't even know we exist I bet. There's no way he could be the cause..."

As much as Len wanted to think of the positives, It was really hard to with all of the dramatic action going on outside. Not to mention he still had yet to find out half his teamates names. Actually, He was sort of glad he chose to practice in a target range away from everybody else. Getting involved with anything going on outside would just discourage him, And he needed all the courage he needed to avenge his friend. "revenge before pleasure..." He whispered to himself...

Len hopped down from the window looking at haley and alexei. "Don't worry about whats going on out there. It's nothing we need to be concerned about." Len went back to his normal position and prepared a bubblebeam. He tried to fire another shot at the target but got the same result. The bubbles he fired wouldn't stay in the beam he was firing. "Gah, What am I doing wrong? "

The tranquillity of the sound of the water running and the calm of finally feeling it wash over her body didn't last long as suddenly a cry pierced the air.
"R-R-RAAANIIII!!!"
Suddenly pulled back to reality, Rani immediately looked over at the source of the cry. She couldn't see very well through the water that was running past her eyes, but she knew that the cry must have come from Shierk. She didn't know why until her eyes cleared and she saw that he was still asleep, his eyes shut tight, tossing and turning. He looked like he was in great pain.
She made to get out of the fountain, and saw Rokan, who was closer, run over to him and try to wake him up. She even went so far as to start gnawing on one of his prongs. Still, he didn't wake up, and Rani jumped out of the water. However, not used to the extra weight of the water that was still in her fur, she tripped over the side and fell onto the ground. So much for the bath; now she was dirty again, but not quite as much, she hoped.
But that wasn't her worry right now, Shierk was. She began to run towards him, cursing the weight of the water that slowed her down. As she came closer, a horrifying stench slammed into her, stopping her in her tracks. It was the smell of fear. She hadn't ever experienced anything this strong, though. It was coming from Shierk and Rokan, and Rani reeled at the overwhelming smell overpowered her. She cursed her sense of smell, and started running again. She came ever closer to Shierk, and she could hear his whimpers and see the tears that ran down his face. What on earth was happening? Why was he having such bad nightmares?

Finally, she reached Shierk. Rokan had now pulled him away from the tree and onto his back, staring at him in dismay.
"Shierk!" Rani yelled at him, "Wake up! Come on, it's just a nightmare!"
She shook her herself, getting some of the excess water droplets to fall on him, then nudged his cheek with her snout. At once an electric shock coursed through her body, helped by the water that covered it. She screeched in pain and pulled herself away from him, gasping for breath as the electricity dissipated. Her legs buckled, and she fell down, weakened greatly by the zap. She hadn't realised that his fur was now totally electrified. She heaved herself to her feet and dragged herself over to stand next to Shierk's sleeping form, warily watching in case, in his writhing around, he accidentally touched her and shocked her again. She didn't know what to do.
"Shierk," she pleaded weakly, "Wake up. It's not real, whatever you're seeing. It's not real."

Shierk was collapsed on the floor with the Electivire walking closer and closer towards him. When Shierk realized that he was probably never going to see Rani or Rokan again, he whispered their names, and conjured up a mental picture of both of them. As Shierk finished his final goodbyes, he felt water hit his fur, which resulted in a large spark jetting off of his body in some random direction. Again he felt as if he were being recharged. Shierk stood up, and looked at his foe, but more importantly at the poke'mon behind her. Rani stood there, freely shifting from Growlithe to Arcanine. Shierk locked eyes with her and he heard "Wake up it's not real. Whatever you're seeing it's not real!"

Shierk took a step back. "What was that? Was that from this world, or the other one?" Shierk looked back at the Electivire that was just watching him, almost warily. Shierk looked at Rokan, and then at Rani, and felt the fire on his fur grow larger. All of the Quicksand melted away, and Shierk began running towards the electivire. He leaped towards it, and prepared to punch, with his fist covered in flame. Motor Drive was still in effect, and the Electivire easily dodged it. Shierk grimaced he could not land a hit unless someone helped him. The voice, which had been silent for a while said, "You will need the help of others to defeat yourself." Then something Shifted. It was as if Rani and Rokan were breathing chains of fire that tied down the Electivire, so Shierk could land a hit. Shierk noticed that The Electivire was on its knees so that it was level with Shierk. Shierk pulled back his flaming arm as he charged towards the Electivire. Shierk timed the hit perfectly, and The Electivire burst into flames, and the dream disintigrated.

In the Real world, Shierk's eyes flew open without warning. He pulled himself to a standing position and smiled at Rani and Rokan, before he collapsed of exhaustion.

A few moments after Rani spoke, Shierk's eyes flew open. It was almost as though he'd suddenly been given a burst of energy, for he was immediately on his feet and smiling at her and Rokan. Then he collapsed.

At once Rani leaned over the unconscious Shierk and put her paw on his chest. He wasn't giving off electricity any more, thank goodness. His heart was beating extremely fast, but he was okay. She grinned down at him, then gently nuzzled his cheek with her snout.
"Thank goodness," she murmured quietly. Suddenly realising what it must look like to anyone who was watching, she sat up and removed her paw from his chest quickly. "Th-That is, we don't want a member of the team to go down when we haven't even started looking for Darkrai," she added hurriedly.

She then noticed that one of Shierk's prongs looked a little... Odd. It was the one Rokan had been biting to get Shierk to wake up, and it looked really rather painful.
"Ouch!" she exclaimed to herself as she looked at it.

As much as she tried not to be, Rokan was upset at the ease with which Rani jolted him out of his nightmare. She'd been doing everything in her power, but once again the prettier fire goddess, the one with the perfect ears and smooth fur, triumphed. She backed up, allowing Rani to get in closer. Clearly Rani had the better chance of fixing it, so she turned tail and stalked back the way she'd come with her tails dragging the ground and both ears flat. She stopped several feet away from Kreep and... Max? She thought that was her name. Her vulpine sense of smell had been enough to notify her that Max was female, though from the way Kreep was acting towards her she wasn't sure he knew. Too aggravated to care about the humorous fact she sat, watching the Bellsprout and Machop. It appeared they were readying themselves to train. Maybe watching would help calm her.

Then again, she had to try hard not to be sick with herself. Why was she being so petty? She'd barely met them, but she was already taking things personally. That had to change. She was being unprofessional. It was time to be what she was: a well-trained hardened authority figure.

"Good thing he's woken up now, eh Roka..." Rani stopped, blinking at the spot where Rokan had been sitting. She had been going to smile over at the Vulpix and ask her what she thought they should do with the unconscious Shierk, but she had disappeared. Looking round, Rani saw her walking away. She looked forlorn; her tails were dragging the ground and both ears were flat. Rani couldn't understand it. Why wasn't she happy that Shierk had stopped having a nightmare? She had been trying so hard to wake him up...

"Rokan?" Rani called over to the fox who was now sitting, watching Kreep and Max prepare to fight (neither of them had made any effort to wake Shierk up, she noted). "What's up? Shierk's nightmare is gone now..."

The whole situation was most perplexing. Why should Rokan be unhappy that Shierk was free from whatever thoughts had plagued him so?

Rokan knew she needed to suck it up. There was no time nor place for being pathetic, which was exactly what she was doing. She forced herself to sit up straight, even making her bad ear point like the other. It was uncomfortable, it hurt, even. But maybe she could train it to sit up. Her white-streaked tails, she could do nothing about, besides hope that maybe as she grew older they would darken into the rich orange color they were meant to be.

She heard Rani's voice and glanced back. It was unexpected, for her to show Rokan concern when her attention ought to be focused on Shierk. Part of her wanted to ignore her compltely, but she was not that sort of fox. "Yes, thank you," she called back. She knew Rani's intent had not been simply to notifty her of Shierk's awakening, but she chose to interpret it as such. Max and Kreep's spar would hopefully begin within the next few seconds, freeing her of any obligation to converse further on the matter.

Kreep grinned, wiping some drool from his mouth. He knew it would come back during the fight, but just did it out of habit. "Alshright Maxth, busht I canf leashve 'monsh in a thtate of hursth thoo!" Kreep said to the machop, getting ready for the fight. He let himself get back into his fighting mantra, and then leapt towards Max without warning. For now, Kreep wasn't using any actual attacks, and was just getting ready to smash Max square in the chest with a leafy punch. This would definately be better than the fight with Rokan.

Max bought a hand up to block Kreep's oncoming punch, gripping the plant's leafy appendage tightly in her palm "Is that so?" She asked wide a wide smile that practically split her face, this was going to be so much fun! "Well then, lets see who hits harder huh?" Smirking, Max lowered herself to the ground, her grip on Kreep's leaf releasing she then swept her foot around at his legs. . . err vines, hoping to knock the plant off its feet before she had the chance to uppercut him in the jaw.

Rokan hadn't made any attempt at conversation, and Rani's slouching body position reflected her confused feelings about the situation. Still, if Rokan wanted to ignore Shierk, that was her choice. For now Rani had to focus on helping the Elekid who had helped her before.
She considered asking one of the other recruits for help, but it seemed that the others outside were too busy, and she couldn't leave Shierk outside. What if he woke up and thought she had just abandoned him? No, she would simply have to deal with him herself. Now, how she was actually going to do it was something she needed to think about. "This would be so much easier if I was bipedal," she murmured to herself. "Now..."
Shierk's arms looked pretty heavy. Maybe if she... No. Looking at how thick the tree trunk was, perhaps she could just push him around to the other side. That way he would be seperated from the sparring Pokemon on the lawn, but still be outside in the fresh air.
So, Rani did just that. Nudging him along with her snout, and trying desperately to ignore the pain that shot through her swollen jaw (and failing; she often let out grunts of pain) she eventually managed to get Shierk behind the tree. She could no longer see the battle happening on the other side, and she could hardly even hear them now. She hazarded a guess that they wouldn't be able to see her and Shierk either, though it didn't really matter.
Rani pushed Shierk up so he was in a sitting position with his back resting against the tree trunk just as he had been before the nightmare set in. She just hoped it didn't happen again; she didn't think she could deal with a nightmare on her own. For now, though, the Elekid was calm. She wished she could say the same thing about her heart; it was beating tremendously fast. Rani smiled at Shierk and nuzzled his cheek with her snout again. She would never do this if he was awake, but she was happy that he was alright; he had seemed so scared before. Rani sat down on the ground, holding Shierk's right hand in her front paws. She wished she had an Oran Berry or something to give him, but alas, she had no such item with her, and she couldn't risk Shierk waking up alone. So instead she just sat, wondering what on earth he could have been dreaming about that made him so worried.

Kreep gasped in surprise, a little spit flying from his mouth, when Max easily grabbed a hold of his leaf and stopped him in his tracks. Quickly, the fighting type released Kreep's "hand" and swept her leg to trip up Kreep. However, the bellsprout simply rolled forward onto Max and leapt up to be standing on top of the machop. He attempted to kick Max to the side with one of his long roots, hearing a satisfying "thwack" sound.

Max flinched slightly when she felt the sting from Kreep's vine striking her causing her to take a slight step back, but this didn't delay her in the slightest. Grinning Max reached out and grabbed at Kreep's root, using a bit of her strength to slam him to the ground like a hammer, a small part of her hoped she hadn't hurt him too much "Maybe I overdid it?" she leaned over slightly to look at him "I didn't hurt you did I?" she asked in a worried tone. The last thing she needed or wanted was for him to flip out on her for being so rough.

Originally, Mack would ask Shierk about his nightmare, but it couldn't do that just yet until after he regains consciousness. And it certainly didn't want to get between Rani and he.
Over in an open area, Rokan was watching Kreep and Max fight. Seeing how the battle seemed like a nice, clean fight so far, it decided to stay and watch. It hovered up to Rokan and watched the battle with a sharp eye. Just like a referee would, so that there will be no trouble. Hey, why not? A referee would be a nice idea for an organized battle.
"Say, Rokan, I believe it would be reasonable to have someone study the battle in case there are any foul play and so forth. What do you think about it?"

Rokan sensed the electrical energy of the air near her rise and glanced over to discover Mack had come to join her in observing the fight before them. She had not properly acquainted herself with it yet, so she figured it would be a good opportunity. As she thought that she had to force herself not to snort. It felt extremely odd not to call another Pokemon by their gender, as she had never come across a genderless before. This would be an entirely new experience.

"That's a phenomenal idea," she agreed. "Especially since we're all on the same team, we should probably set up guidelines for sparring behavior. For one thing, no interfering in the fight of another. Perhaps two on two battles may be allowed, but no more than that. All fights must be consented to. Things like that."

The first thing that Shierk felt was the pain. It was horrible, it was sharp and dull but extremely painful all throughout his left prong. He cracked his eyes open, and saw an orange blobby thing in front of him. He heard Loud noises behind him, Most likely pokemon sparring. Before he Opened his eyes any farther, he had to get rid of this pain. Shierk carefully reached up and felt his prong. Someone had been biting it. He grasped the prong beween his palms and bent it slightly to the right. Instant relief flooded his body as the natural current between his prongs restarted.

Shierk tried to remember what had been going on before he ended up here. THE DREAM! Shierk leaped to his feet and opened his eyes, and immediately wished he hadn't. The sunlight flooded in, and he reached his arms up to cover them. When his eyes adjusted, he looked in front of him and saw Rani. "RANI!" Shierk hugged her and stepped back, smiling. Shierk looked around confusedly, then asked, "Hey, where's Rokan?"

"Okay, you watch from that side," Mack said pointing in one direction, "and I will-" Mack stopped short when it heard a voice. It sounded like Shierk. It was Shierk, he woke up and screamed for joy. "It looks like Shierk roused from his slumber, thank goodness."
Everything was coming back normal, Mack was relieved. Yet Max and Kreep apparently didn't hear it, due to their battle.

Rani watched and relief flooded in as Shierk began to stir, and then wished there was something she could do to help as he reached up to his slightly bent prong. Rani's biting it had pulled it slightly out of shape, and boy, it looked painful. Still, he managed to straighten it, and jumped to his feet, opening his eyes quickly. He then, however, recoiled, most likely from taking in too much sunlight at once, as he put his arms up to cover his eyes. She knew how he felt; sometimes she used to bound out of her home cave too quickly and feel exactly the same when the sun hit her.
Shierk then put down his arms and saw Rani properly for the first time.
"RANI!" he yelled. The growlithe smiled in delight. He was okay, apart from his slightly damaged prong, but that too would heal in time. Rani had begun to relax slightly until Shierk suddenly leapt forward and hugged her, his strong arms clasping around her neck and shoulders. It was like her heart skipped a beat, then to make up for it, started racing faster than it had been even when she was terrified. No one outside of her family had ever hugged her before.
As quickly as it had started, the hug was over as Shierk pulled away, leaving her slightly winded. As she tried to catch her breath without Shierk realising that was what she was doing, he looked around in confusion. "Hey, where's Rokan?" he asked her.
"She's..." Rani faltered. Rokan had just upped and left him when she found out he wasn't having a nightmare anymore. She hadn't stuck around like Rani had or taken him to a more secluded area to recover like Rani had. She hadn't made sure that he was okay before going back to her business like Rani had!
"She's back over on the lawn," Rani said quietly. "Once she saw that you weren't having a nightmare anymore, she went back over to watch Max and Kreep battle..."
Rani didn't mean to show Rokan in a bad light, after all, she was a quite agreeable young Vulpix. However, Rani struggled to keep the bitterness from her voice. She hung her head slightly and gestured with her paw to the area behind the tree.

"Oh." Shierk frowned, he really needed to talk to both of them, but he could wait for Rokan. "Hey Rani. There's something you need to hear. something you and Rokan need to hear, but for now I'll just tell you. If you're wondering, this involves the nightmare that I just woke up from." Shierk stepped back, sat down and began telling Rani about the dream.

After Shierk finished, he looked straight into Rani's eyes and asked, "Rani do you think Darkrai could be doing this? Yes it could be my subconciousness, but.... I just don't know. Do you see why I needed to talk to Rokan too? both of you were involved in the dream. The same message was said about both of you. 'You will need the help of both of them to defeat yourself.' " Shierk stopped talking after this. He had an idea of what the voice meant, but he didn't want to tell Either Rani or Rokan. "So, in a way, I owe my life to you. both of you. get it?" shierk looked straight into Rani's eyes here. Shierk then hopped up. "Come on, we need to tell Rokan too."
