Hey, what are those?" Tyson asked, pointing up at the clear sky. There was a flock of something flying under the moonlight.
"Oh!" Andrew said with a laugh. "Those are Hoothoot. They sleep during the day, and only come out at night time..."
Tyson grinned up at the brown pokemon, watching them fly around together. A few noticed Andrew and him, and he directed his smile at Charmander. The lizard was eyeing him expectantly, tail wagging and sending bits of fire flecks in the air.
"Charmander, Ember," Tyson said eagerlly.
"Char!" Charmander laughed, launching the fire attack straight up, hitting one Hoothoot in the stomach.
"Hoo!" it cried out angrily, coming down for a Tackle attack.
Andrew laughed. "Good idea! Go, Wingull! Water Gun!"
While Andrew fought with his own, Tyson was busy directing Charmander against his own opponent. "Charmander, Ember!"
"Charm!" Mouth opening, the ball flames shot out at Hoothoot.
The owl cooed in anger, flapping its small wings to get out of the way. "Hot!" Hoothoot cried, bashing into Charmander.
"Cha!" Charmander gasped, getting the air knocked out of it. "Char," Charmander grunted, rubbing his stomach.
"Hoo! Hoo!" Hoothoot exclaimed happily, getting encouraging cries from its flock.
Tyson ignored the other pokemon. "Charmander, Ember!"
"Cha!" Charmander called, though not as loudly since it was still a little breathless. "Ma!" Charmander spat, pleased to see its attack hit.
"Toot!" Hoothoot cried, wincing as it nearly crashed into the ground from the grunt of the attack. "Ho!" Hoothoot snarled, charging at Charmander for another Tackle.
"Meet it head on!" Tyson commanded.
Tail swishing behind it much like a lizards, Charmander charged, claws at the ready. "Chaaam!" Charmander growled, launching itself into the air, its claws hitting Hoothoot first since Hoothoot needed its whole body to knock into Charmander.
"Hoot," Hoothoot mumbled, shaking in pain and eyes closing in a grimace. Tyson noted that it had been burned in the side and was most likely experiencing the effects.
"Charmander, let's finish it with an Ember!"
"Char!" Charmander cried eagerly, fireing the flames.
"Toot!" Hoothoot scoffed, diving out of the way almost easily. It seems that Charmander had gotten a little too confident, thinking it had won before its opponent was down. "Hoo hoo," Hoothoot said slowly, eyes beginning to spin and glow red.
"Chaar... man." Charmander fell to the ground, a light snore and a bit of smoke coming out of its nose, indicating it was asleep.
"Bad luck there," Andrew said, holding a pokeball with his newly captured Hoothoot. "Alost got my Wingull with that.
"Charmander!" Tyson called, ignoring the other boy. "Charmander, get your butt up!"
"Chrrr..." Charmander snoozed away.
"Hoot!" Hoothoot cried in victory, slamming into Charmander for a Tackle attack. It was determined to cut down its health before it got up.
"Charmander!" Tyson growled in anger as he saw his lizard get bashed once more.
"Tooh!" Hoothoo laughed, doing little flips in the air, though still grimacing every now and then from the burn. The thought made Tyson smile knowing Hoothoot was at least getting some damage. "Too!" Hoothoot cried again, charging for its Tackle attack.
"Charmander!" Tyson barked again, body shaking.
At that moment, after the three attacks Hoothoot delt to Charmander, the fire lizards eyes snapped open. "Char!" Charmander spat, rolling backwards to avoid the collision with Hoothoot.
"Hoot!" Hoothoot cried out in pain, crashing into the ground.
"Charrrr," Charmander said lowly, lava coming out of Charmander's mouth like saliva.
Tyson grinned, knowing how mad Charmander was. "Finish it," he said simply.
Charmander nodded, a light sneer on his face. "Chaaar!" Charmander snarled, muzzle wide and unleashing the harsh flame attack, hitting its target straight on.
"Hooooo!" Hoothoot cried, eyes shut as the pain raked its body. When the attack was over, Hoothoot slumped to its side, worn out an unconcious.
"Cha," Charmander spat, giving a light sniff but otherwise looking proud of himself.
The surrounding Hoothoot waited for Tyson to capture their friend, but when he made no move to do so, they picked him up with their talons and flew off.
"You don't really capture that many pokemon, do you?" Andrew asked.
Tyson just shrugged when Charmander said, "Cha!" and pointing to the forest.
Heracross and Pinsir were comming back. Heracross kind of strutted forward, looking properly shagged. The same went for Pinsir.
"What, no egg?" Andrew teased.
Pinsir gave her trainer a harsh look that said, 'What? Every time a pokemon does it apparently they have an egg?'
Andrew smartly backed off.
"Cross," Heracross greeted Tyson and Charmander, lifting a hand in greeting.
"Hey, Heracross," Tyson said. "Have fun?"
Heracross nodded, looking pleased.
"Cha?" Charmander questioned, sniffing the bug pokemon.
Not wanting it to get awkward, Tyson said, "Perhaps we should move on. Even though its late, the town is basically right there..." He just sort of waved off in the distance.
"Alright," Andrew agreed, now walking alongside Tyson as they grabbed their stuff.
A few minutes of walking, and they both saw the town. Breathing out a sigh of relief and sharing large grins, they both entered the pokemon center.
"Do you two have any idea how late it is?!" came the greeting from Nurse Joy.
Too tired to argue, they handed over their recalled pokemon for them to heal.
"So, I was wondering," Andrew started, looking a little nervous. "Well, your Heracross really likes my Pinsir... and well, was wondering if you would like to..."
"Trade?" Tyson finished for Andrew looking thoughtful, not entirely sure what to do yet.
"Well, what pokemon do you have, aside from Wingull, Pinsir, Hoothoot and Teddiursa?"
Andrew grinned. " I have a few more. I have..."
OOC: This is the part where you describe to me the town, and tell me if I can trade and what other pokemon Andrew has. :)
