Chris and Dile stood on the opposite side of the gym arena, both flabbergasted by what Samantha had announced.

"You're the leader?!" Chris yelled across the gym.

"Who else?" Samantha calmly stated with a smile. Suddenly, her smile turned to an evil grin, "Let's get this battle going!" She motioned to a door, where a Pokemon official appeared, walking to the center of the field.

"This will be a one on one battle!" The official yelled "The Challenger, Chris Eaton, is battling the Port Began gym leader, Samantha! Challenger, send out your Pokemon."

"(Remember what we talked about Dile)" Chris whispered aside to Dile, then yelling "Ok, Dile, you're up!" Dile jumped off of Chris' shoulder and onto the battlefield, taking a fighting pose.

"Go Meow!" The meowth that stood next to Samantha eargerly jumped into the areana. It's claws glistened under the stadium lights.

"Chris' Totodile against Samantha's Meowth." The referee announced "Ready? Begin!"

"Dile, use Water Gun!" Chris commanded. Dile took a deep breath, then released, shooting a large stream of water at the opposing Meowth.

"Quick Meow, dodge and use Scratch attack!"

The Meowth dodged the Water Gun attack with cat-like reflexes (duh...) then pounced at Dile, with it's claws glistening out in front of it.

"Dile, quick, use Leer!" Dile's eye's grew a dark green as he stared at the oncoming danger. However, the attack failed, and Dile was hit with a powerful scratch attack, sending Dile skidding a few feet back.

"Good Job Meow!" Samantha complimented, then yelling across the stadium to Chris, "I was hoping that you would be a better battler then this..." She shrugged, "...but I guess I was wrong!"

"It's not over yet!" Chris confidently said as Dile recovered. "Dile use Water Gun, then use Scratch!"

Dile rapidly fired a Water Gun attack, hitting the Meowth in face and causing it to put it's paws in front of it's face in an attempt to block the attack. Seeing it's oppertunity, Dile rushed forward and hit the Meowth with a Scratch attack of his own. The Meowth was knocked down and skidded across the battlefield, while Dile jumped back to put some distance between the two.

The Meowth slowly got back up, longing for revenge.

"Great Job, Dile!" Chris complimented to the Totodile, "Now use Scratch attack before it can recover."

Dile leaped forward at the Meowth, his claws shined as they scraped across of the Meowth's face, sending the Meowth crashing back onto the floor of the arena. However, the Meowth got back up one more and resumed a fighting stance.

"Meow!" Samantha yelled, attempting to regain control of the battle "Use Growl, then Scratch!"

The Meowth let out a deafening roar, freezing Dile in place for a moment. The Meowth then lunged at Dile with it's sharp claws.

"Dile, lets finish this with Water Gun!" Dile took another huge breath, then shot a torrent of water at the Meowth, hitting it in mid-air and sending it flying across the stadium. It flew past Samantha, slamming into the wall with a crash and falling to the floor.

"Meowth is unable to battle, challenger, Chris, is the winner!"

"Yes!" Chris exclaimed, as Dile jumped back onto Chris' shoulder "Great job Dile!" He complimented, petting the small crocodile on the head.

"I lost..." Samantha sullenly said to herself, tears forming in her eyes. Wiping them away, she returned her Meowth to it's ball. "You did good, Meow." She then slowly walked across the arena to Chris, taking a badge out of her pocket. "Thank you for a good, first, battle." She said, holding the badge out in front of her, "This is the Round Badge, it's one of the badges we offer here on the Orava Islands. I hand it out to trainers that I see are worthy, and I'd like you to have it." She gave the badge to Chris before resuming to her previous, cheerful voice, "That means you have only 7 more to go!"

Chris and Dile stood on front of her for a moment, both again shocked by her change in mood. "Thank you for the battle." Chris finally said with a smile "It was fun."

Samantha blushed a little as Chris turned and headed out the door. "Come back some time for another battle!" She yelled waving to Chris as he walked down the street away from the gym.
---------------

Chris walked down the street away from the gym, inspecting the badge as he walked. the setting sun glistened off of the badge, causing it to shine. <My first badge in the Islands...> Chris thought to himself as the two continued to walk back to the Poke Center. He couldn't help but smile as he looked at it.

"Totodile!" Dile suddenly exclaimed, snapping Chris out of his day dream. A Pokemon stood in the middle of the street, eying Chris and Dile.

"Alright! A _______!" Chris pulled an empty Pokeball off of his belt and placed the badge in his pocket. " And this time, I'm ready!"

Looking at Chris and Dile from the street was a pokemon that had a large head with blonde hair, purple colored skin, large eyes and a pair of large lips. The pokemon began walking towards Chris and Dile, with her head rocking back and forth...

Andrew grinned and grabbed one of his own pokeballs. "Go, Wingull!" With a burst of white light, the white and blue bird appeared. "That's a cool shiny, by the way," Andrew said, grinning.

Tyson grinned back easily, liking this kid. "Thanks, and that's one strong Wingull you got." His face hardened slightly. "But its not enough to stop us! Charmander, Smokecreen!"

Andrew's grin faltered as Charmander opened his muzzle, unleashing the inky smoke and covering the area. "Char!" Charmander smirked, eyes following the bird easily.

"Wing..." Wingull murmered nervously, fluttering his wings to stay in place.

"Wingull, Water Gun!" Andrew called, eyes trying to squinting through the mist.

"Wing!" Wingull cried, shooting a blast of water in a random direction.

Tyson grinned as he saw Charmander easily evade the attack. The Water Gun was way off target. "Scratch!" he ordered in a low hiss.

"Char," Charmander said quietly, crawling low toward Wingull.

"Wingull, keep up that Water Gun!" Andrew kept calling the smoke, still going.

Charmander chuckled under his breath, crawling on all fours, the Water Gun attacks going right over his head. "Charr!" Charmander screamed, making the Wingul choke on his own water from the shock.

"Wing! Wing! Wing!" WIngul spat, practically drowning.

"Maner!" Charmander snarled, jumping at the flying pokemon, claws gleaming. "Ma!" Charmander spat, raking his claws against Wingull.

"Wiii!" Wingull screamed in pain, crashing to the ground.

"Charr!" Charmander screamed, beating Wingull on the back with an Ember attack.

"Wi!" Wingull said angrily, using a Water Gun to put out the flames easily. "Gu!" Wingull flew back a bit, firing another Water Gun, hitting Charmander in the gut.

"Charr!" Charmander screamed in pain, the water being super effective.

"Charmander, fight back with another smokescreen!" Tyson called as the smoke from earlier faded away.

"Mist!" Andrew bellowed, wanting Wingull to have his own advantage as well.

"Wing!"

"Charm!"

The two pokemon let out the black and white smoke, making it turn the area into a mix of yin and yang chaos.

"Ember!"

"Water Gun!"

The fire and water attacks were launched, hitting each other head on and creating an explosion.

"Charm!" Charmander screamed as he was launched back.

"Wi!" Wingull screamed, bouncing across the ground.

Snarling, the fire lizard got to his feet, shaking. All the battles from the whole day were just catching up. "Char," he panted.

"Charmander, let's finish this with a Scratch!" Tyson ordered.

Nodding, Charmander charged, rolling to the side as Wingull let out a Water Gun at the order of its trainer. "Mande!" Charmander screamed, slashing at Wingull.

Wiiiing!" Wingull screamed in pain.

"Finihs it!" Tyson roared.

"Chaaaar!" Charmander snarled loudly, mouth lighting up with its inner flame, angry. "Cham!" Charmander slashing once more at the weakened Wingull.

"Wing!" Wingull cried, falling to the ground.

"Wingull!" Andrew called out worriedly, having no choice but to wait for the Mist and Smokescreen to disappear. It took a full minute before it finally cleared enough for Andrew to see his fainted pokemon. He sighed. "Return, Wingull."

"Come back, Charmander," Tyson ordered, taking in Charmander's worn out panting and sweating body.

"Car," Charmander sighed in relief, trotting over by Tyson's side.

"You're up, Heracross," Tyson said, nodding to the giant beetle.

"Hera!" Heracross called, jumping in front of Andrew.

Andrew grinned. "Go, Pinsir!"

With a burst of white light, a giant bug with pincers appeared.

"Pins!" it called, tapping its pincers together.

Heracross faltered, blinking at its opponent. "Cross..."

"Heracross, use Horn Attack!" Tyson ordered.

"Pinsir, Vice Grip!" Andrew ordered.

"Pnis!" Pinsir screamed, charging at Heracross. The giant beetle just stood there.

"Heracross, what are you doing!?" Tyson shouted.

"Hera!" Heracross grunted, gritting his teeth as Pinsir tightened its hold over Heracross's horn. They could now see each other's faces. "Cros," Heracross said pleasantly, smiling at Pinsir.

"Pin!" Pinsir snarled, throwing Heracross to the ground.

"Heracross, Horn Attack!" Tyson barked.

"Cross," Heracross said, flying at Pinsir. Instead of bashing it, Heracross picked Pinsir up and slammed it down on it back, getting a loud gasp from the pokemon. "Cors!" Heracross bellowed, slamming his horn on the fallen pokemons stomach.

"Pinsir, Revenge!" Andrew ordered.

Eyes glowing purple, Pinsir slapped Heracross back, but the beetle just looked amused, continually flying around Pinsir.

"Heracross?" Tyson questioned.

"Cross!" Heracross bellowed, charging at Pinsir, horn slammed into Pinsir, pinning the pokemon down.

"Pinsi!" Pinsir snarled, thrashing uner the weight of Heracross.

"Pinsir, try and get free! Revenge!"

"Heracross, finish it!" Tyson bellowed.

"Cross," Heracross said pleasantly, applying a bit more pressure onto Pinsir, cutting off its circulation.

"Pins," Pinsir said lowly, calming down and going still. The glare on its face held firm for a good few minutes before it went away, giving a defeated look. "Pins," it said, softly this time and offering its neck to Heracross.

"Uh..." Tyson was at a loss. "Does that mean I won?" he asked.

"Cross!" Heracross barked, walking toward the forest, Pinsir hot at its heels, and the two disappeared from sight.

"Uh, your Pinsir woudn't happen to be a girl, would it?" Tyson asked.

Andrew slapped his forehead. "And Heracross is a boy, isn't it?"

Tyson nodded, giving a sigh. "So, what now?"

"I guess we wait until they come back," Andrew said, looking uncomfortable.

And so they waited, talking about random things and nonesense until it got dark out. The two set up camp, determined not to leave the area until their pokemon had returned.

"Hey, what are those?" Tyson asked, pointing up at teh clear sky. There was a flock of something flying under the moonlight.

"Oh!" Andrew said with a laugh. "Those are...!"

"Ok, this thing is just wierd."

"Go, Wooper!" Yelled Raide, throwing Woopers pokeball into the air.

Wooper came out with an anxious "Wooper!"
Wooper was glad that he wasn't in his cramped pokeball anymore.

"Ok wooper use water gun!" said Raide.

"Woop!" Wooper yelled as it jumped into the air and used water gun. Gulpin dodged it, and moved forward, trying to get to wooper so it could use pound. It was succeding.

"Wooper use tail whip, then use water gun!" Yelled Raide.

Wooper's tail started to move from side to side as Wooper used a water gun.

The blow obviously Hurt Gulpin, But gulpin managed to keep moving. It jumped into the air to use pound.

"Water gun now!" Yelled Raide.

"Woop!" yelled Wooper as it used water gun to send Gulpin flying towards the ground.

Before it passed out, The gulpin used yawn, and wooper started to feel a little tired.

"Return wooper" said raide with a sigh. In a flash of red light, wooper was back in it's pokeball.

Suddenly, a ruslting of leaves came from nearby. Out of nowhere ou poopped e pokemon that looked like a.....

"ewwwww... Go shinx!" said Raide plugging his nose.

Shinx came out with the usual "shinx!"

"Okay shinx, use Pound!" yelled Raide.
Shinx obeyed, and sent the stunky flying backwards.
Stunky used poison gas, ad Raide almost fell over from the horrible stench.

"Hang in there Shinx, and use Pound!" yelled Raide, plugging his nose again.
Shinx obeyed, and sent the skuntank flying. "Now use leer!" yelled Raide, still plugging his nose.

Shinx didn't get to finish the move before stunky came rushing at shinx with a pound attack.

"use tackle!" yelled Raide. The both went fying towards eachother, but because of the leer attack, shinx sent stunky flying backwards.

"Stunk" yelled stnky, passing out.

Soon, Raide finally came upon the pokemon center, and healed his pokemon.

Unsure of to challange the gym or not, he went back to route 3 to train. Suddenly, a ________ appeared out of nowhere!

Chris walked down the street away from the gym, inspecting the badge as he walked. the setting sun glistened off of the badge, causing it to shine. <My first badge in the Islands...> Chris thought to himself as the two continued to walk back to the Poke Center. "Alright! A Smoochum!" Chris pulled an empty Pokeball off of his belt and placed the badge in his pocket. " And this time, I'm ready! Dile, Go!" Dile jumped off of Chris' shoulder and in front of the Smoochum. The large-lipped Pokemon eyed Dile menacingly as the stood in the middle of the street. A cold wind blew through the abandoned street, and the setting sun caused an orange tint on the pavement.

"Dile use Leer!" Chris commanded, his voice echoing of the empty streets.

Dile's eyes glowed a dark green as he stared intently at the Smoochum. Suddenly a frightened look appeared on the Smoochum's face and instead of fighting back, it ran down the street into a back alley.

"Hey! Come back!" Chris yelled as the two pursued the fleeing Pokemon. They turned down the back-alley where the Smoochum had dissapeared only moments before.

"Smoochum!" Chris shouted down the alley hoping to find out where the Pokemon had went. Suddenly they heard a low growl from behind. The duo turned, only to see....

[PokeCommunity.com] Pokemon - Orava Islands

Tyson grinned up at the brown pokemon, watching them fly around together. A few noticed Andrew and him, and he directed his smile at Charmander. The lizard was eyeing him expectantly, tail wagging and sending bits of fire flecks in the air.

"Charmander, Ember," Tyson said eagerlly.

"Char!" Charmander laughed, launching the fire attack straight up, hitting one Hoothoot in the stomach.

"Hoo!" it cried out angrily, coming down for a Tackle attack.

Andrew laughed. "Good idea! Go, Wingull! Water Gun!"

While Andrew fought with his own, Tyson was busy directing Charmander against his own opponent. "Charmander, Ember!"

"Charm!" Mouth opening, the ball flames shot out at Hoothoot.

The owl cooed in anger, flapping its small wings to get out of the way. "Hot!" Hoothoot cried, bashing into Charmander.

"Cha!" Charmander gasped, getting the air knocked out of it. "Char," Charmander grunted, rubbing his stomach.

"Hoo! Hoo!" Hoothoot exclaimed happily, getting encouraging cries from its flock.

Tyson ignored the other pokemon. "Charmander, Ember!"

"Cha!" Charmander called, though not as loudly since it was still a little breathless. "Ma!" Charmander spat, pleased to see its attack hit.

"Toot!" Hoothoot cried, wincing as it nearly crashed into the ground from the grunt of the attack. "Ho!" Hoothoot snarled, charging at Charmander for another Tackle.

"Meet it head on!" Tyson commanded.

Tail swishing behind it much like a lizards, Charmander charged, claws at the ready. "Chaaam!" Charmander growled, launching itself into the air, its claws hitting Hoothoot first since Hoothoot needed its whole body to knock into Charmander.

"Hoot," Hoothoot mumbled, shaking in pain and eyes closing in a grimace. Tyson noted that it had been burned in the side and was most likely experiencing the effects.

"Charmander, let's finish it with an Ember!"

"Char!" Charmander cried eagerly, fireing the flames.

"Toot!" Hoothoot scoffed, diving out of the way almost easily. It seems that Charmander had gotten a little too confident, thinking it had won before its opponent was down. "Hoo hoo," Hoothoot said slowly, eyes beginning to spin and glow red.

"Chaar... man." Charmander fell to the ground, a light snore and a bit of smoke coming out of its nose, indicating it was asleep.

"Bad luck there," Andrew said, holding a pokeball with his newly captured Hoothoot. "Alost got my Wingull with that.

"Charmander!" Tyson called, ignoring the other boy. "Charmander, get your butt up!"

"Chrrr..." Charmander snoozed away.

"Hoot!" Hoothoot cried in victory, slamming into Charmander for a Tackle attack. It was determined to cut down its health before it got up.

"Charmander!" Tyson growled in anger as he saw his lizard get bashed once more.

"Tooh!" Hoothoo laughed, doing little flips in the air, though still grimacing every now and then from the burn. The thought made Tyson smile knowing Hoothoot was at least getting some damage. "Too!" Hoothoot cried again, charging for its Tackle attack.

"Charmander!" Tyson barked again, body shaking.

At that moment, after the three attacks Hoothoot delt to Charmander, the fire lizards eyes snapped open. "Char!" Charmander spat, rolling backwards to avoid the collision with Hoothoot.

"Hoot!" Hoothoot cried out in pain, crashing into the ground.

"Charrrr," Charmander said lowly, lava coming out of Charmander's mouth like saliva.

Tyson grinned, knowing how mad Charmander was. "Finish it," he said simply.

Charmander nodded, a light sneer on his face. "Chaaar!" Charmander snarled, muzzle wide and unleashing the harsh flame attack, hitting its target straight on.

"Hooooo!" Hoothoot cried, eyes shut as the pain raked its body. When the attack was over, Hoothoot slumped to its side, worn out an unconcious.

"Cha," Charmander spat, giving a light sniff but otherwise looking proud of himself.

The surrounding Hoothoot waited for Tyson to capture their friend, but when he made no move to do so, they picked him up with their talons and flew off.

"You don't really capture that many pokemon, do you?" Andrew asked.

Tyson just shrugged when Charmander said, "Cha!" and pointing to the forest.

Heracross and Pinsir were comming back. Heracross kind of strutted forward, looking properly shagged. The same went for Pinsir.

"What, no egg?" Andrew teased.

Pinsir gave her trainer a harsh look that said, 'What? Every time a pokemon does it apparently they have an egg?'

Andrew smartly backed off.

"Cross," Heracross greeted Tyson and Charmander, lifting a hand in greeting.

"Hey, Heracross," Tyson said. "Have fun?"

Heracross nodded, looking pleased.

"Cha?" Charmander questioned, sniffing the bug pokemon.

Not wanting it to get awkward, Tyson said, "Perhaps we should move on. Even though its late, the town is basically right there..." He just sort of waved off in the distance.

"Alright," Andrew agreed, now walking alongside Tyson as they grabbed their stuff.

A few minutes of walking, and they both saw the town. Breathing out a sigh of relief and sharing large grins, they both entered the pokemon center.

"Do you two have any idea how late it is?!" came the greeting from Nurse Joy.

Too tired to argue, they handed over their recalled pokemon for them to heal.

"So, I was wondering," Andrew started, looking a little nervous. "Well, your Heracross really likes my Pinsir... and well, was wondering if you would like to..."

"Trade?" Tyson finished for Andrew looking thoughtful, not entirely sure what to do yet.

"Well, what pokemon do you have, aside from Wingull, Pinsir, Hoothoot and Teddiursa?"

Andrew grinned. " I have a few more. I have..."

OOC: This is the part where you describe to me the town, and tell me if I can trade and what other pokemon Andrew has. :)

@Wolfwhispers -
"You don't really capture that many pokemon, do you?" Andrew asked.

I've noticed that as well... :)

Congratulations Charmander grew to Level 17 and can now evolve!

I'm okay with you trading if you want to...

"Trade?" Tyson finished for Andrew looking thoughtful, not entirely sure what to do yet.

"Well, what pokemon do you have, aside from Wingull, Pinsir, Hoothoot and Teddiursa?"

Andrew grinned. " I have a few more. I have a Aipom and a Snorunt as well if you are interested... "

"Hmm," Tyson thought, tapping his chin, nearly jumping as Nurse Joy called to them to get their pokemon. "Hang on, I gotta ask Heracross."

Andrew nodded in understanding and moved away.

"Come on out, Heracross," Tyson said softly.

"Hera," Heracross said, shaking itself and blinking up at Tyson.

"Er, Heracross," Tyson began a bit nervously, getting a cocked head from the giant beetle. "Look, you like that Pinsir, right?"

"Cros," Heracross confirmed.

Tyson shuffled nervously. "Well, what I'm trying to say is, would you be happier with Andrew and Pinsir?"

Understanding lit Heracross's eyes. "Cor," it said, nodding at Tyson.

"Would you like to stay with him? I could, you know, trade you..."

Heracross lowered his head in thought, glancing at Pinsir every now and then before looking at Tyson. "Cross," he said, nodding.

Tyson let out a breath. Alright then. I suppose this is goodbye..."

"Cross," Heracross said, smiling at Tyson and giving out his hand.

Tyson grinned and shook the clawed hand, marveling at its strength in its grip.

"You ready?" Andrew asked, coming over and leading a bouncy looking Snorunt.

"Sno!" Snorunt said, waving up at Tyson.

Andrew laughed a little nervously. "She never really liked me all that much," he admitted. "I think she'll be good with a new face around."

Tyson grinned down, offering a hand to Snorunt. "It's nice to meet you Snorunt."

"Ru!" Snorunt giggled, twirling around.

Tyson got back up and unleashed Charmander, knowing the fire lizard would want to say goodbye. "Cha!" Charmander spat, looking around for a battle.

"Cor cor corss Herac," Heracross explained, gesturing over to Andrew.

"Char!" Charmander spat, looking enraged, glaring at the giant bug.

Heracross just chuckled, patting Charmander's head. "Her."

"Char!" Charmander snarled, swiping the hand away from his head. Giving a sneer at Snorunt, Charmander turned away. "Mander!" he barked angrily, glowing suddenly.

"Charmander!" Tyson snapped in both admonishment and shock as his pokemon began to change shape.

When the light had ended, Charmander seemed to have grown bigger. It had longer claws, a mean look and a single horn on its head. "Charmeleon," the newly dubbed Charmeleon growled, blowing a bit of fire from its nose in Heracross's direction. "Ch," it growled, turning away.

"Cross," Heracross said, just looking amused but still waved to the back of the fire type, nodding at Tyson to get started.

Wtih a sigh, Tyson recalled both his pokemon, Andrew doing the same and heading over to the machine. "Ready?" he asked Andrew.

"Ready," the boy replied, placing his pokeball in the machine.

After a moment, the pokeballs switched places, and Tyson was allowed to read the stats of his pokemon. He had already known Snorunt was a girl, but now he knew what attacks she had and that she had been at the same level as Heracross. Quite convenient.

"Boy, I'm beat!" Andrew said with a yawn. "I'm off to bed."

Tyson eagerly followed, knowing he would explore the village tommorow and fight the gym leader. He could already feel the badge in his hand.

@Wolfwhispers - Bye Heracross....

Suddenly they heard a low growl from behind. The duo turned, only to see what looked like a small gray dog. The dog was growling at Chris and Dile, and was looking for a battle...
[PokeCommunity.com] Pokemon - Orava Islands

Chris looked down the street, only to see the fleeting image of the Smoochum. "Let's go Dile, it's getting away!" Chris and Dile took a step to pursue the Smoochum, only to have the Poochyena cut them off. It growled menacingly as Chris began to slowly back up.

"Alright, Poochyena..." Chris said in a calm tone, "It's OK, we didn't mean to bother you or anything..."

However, the Poochyena wasn't interested in why they where there, and it jumped at Dile, hitting him with a Tackle attack and sending him spiraling across the ground. As Dile recovered the Poochyena let out a howl, before readying itself for another attack.

Chris couldn't help but smile at the Pokemon's eagerness. "Dile, Use Water Gun!"

"Totodile." Dile said before he took a deep breath or air, then shooting a huge blast of water at the Poochyena and sending it flying into a pair of trash cans. Dile breathed heavily as the Poochyena recovered and shook off some of the garbage that had fallen on it.

<This is bad...> Chris thought to himself <Dile is getting tired. Three battles in such a short time is having it's effects on him. We got to end this, fast.> All of a sudden, the Poochyena let out another howl, snapping Chris into reality, before it began running at the Totodile in preparation for a Tackle attack.

"Hold strong, Dile!" Chris called, and Dile gave him a quick nod. He then dug his claws into the ground, bracing for impact. The Poochyena impacted Dile square in the chest, causing him to slide back a little. "Now! Throw it!"

Dile grabbed the Poochyena by the fur and spun around in a circle in preparation for a huge throw. The Poochyena struggled to break free, but had no idea how to react to the situation. After three spins, Dile let go, sending the Poochyena slamming into a wall. However, despite the powerful move, the Poochyena got back up running at full speed for a final assault. It jumped into the air, speeding at Dile.

"Dile, jump left!" Chris called out to Dile.

Dile quickly dodged to the left of the attack, barely missing the oncoming attack. Unfortunately for the Poochyena, it kept going past Dile, hitting it's head on the brick wall of the building in the alleyway. The Poochyena collapsed in a heap, strained from the impact.

Chris saw his moment and rapidly took an empty Pokeball off of his belt. "Go!" he yelled, as he threw the Pokeball at the downed Poochyena. The Pokemon was sucked into the ball and it began to rock back and forth. "Comon.... Comon..." Chris said to himself, as the ball continued to vibrate...

@Wolfsrain - The ball shook left to right a few more times, before stopping and letting out a ding to signify that the capture had been succesful...

Congratulations Chris caught a Level 7 Poochyena

Tyson and Andrew had gone their separate ways in the morning, Andrew going off to train and Tyson now standing in front of the pokemon gyn. A little nervous, especially with one new pokemon and one angry one angry one, Tyson opened the door to the gym and began to look around. There was a large stadium in the very center, at the end was a man that was already waiting.

He turned to Tyson as he came in. "New challenger?" he asked gruffly.

Tyson nodded. "Yes, I'm here for the next gym badge."

"Very well, I am George, the gym leader. We battle until our pokemon can no longer stand. Two verse two. Are you ready?" He waited for Tyson to nod again. "Good. Go, Pidgey!"

With a burst of white light, a light brown bird pokemon appeared. "Pid!" it cooed, flapping its wings to get airborn.

"Go, Snorunt!" Tyson called, grinning as he realized he had the type advantage here. "Snorunt, use Powder Snow!"

"Pidgey, dodge and use Quick Attack!"

"Pidgey!" Pidgey dove, narrowly avoiding the icy attack and becoming a blur as it charged at Snorunt.

"Snorunt, Double Team," Tyson said quickly.

Twirling excitedly, Snorunt's form blurred, and suddenly a very shell shocked Pidgey was surrounded by at least a dozen Snorunt's.

Tyson grinned. "Powder Snow!"

"Sno sno!" the dozen Snorunt's laughed, all firing the exact same Powder Snow.

"Pidg," Pidgey cawed in fear, not knowing which attack was the real one.

"Dodge it!" George ordered to his confused Pidgey.

"Peeey!" Pidgey screamed as the ice cold attack hit it in the back, causing bits if ice to appear in its feathers. "Gey," Pidgey said weakly.

George's nose crinkled in irritation. "Pidgey, Gust," he barked.

"Py!" Pidgey called, flapping its wings hard and creating a tornado.

"Snoo!" Snorunt called, bringing its ball hands to its face as the tornado sent it flying. "Ruun ru!" Sonrunt muttered, bouncing off the ground.

"Snorunt, fight back with another Powder Snow!" Tyson called.

"Dodge and use Quick Attack," George commanded.

"Py!" Pidgey called, diving out of the way and becoming a blur.

"Double Team," Tyson purred, grinning at Pidgey shocked expression. It just kept falling for the same things. "Powder Snow!" he called to the dozens of Snorunt's.

"Snor!" Snorunt said happily, all of them twirling and launching the attack.

"Pidgey, dodge!" George barked.

"Pi," Pidgey cooed uncertainlym diving out of the way of two attacks, but unfortunately, both were fakes, and the real one hit it right in the face. "Peee....!" Pidgey cried shards of ice covering its beak and making it hard for it to talk.

"It looks like Pidgey is almost done for," Tyson said with a laugh.

"Pidgey, Tackle," George demanded, ignoring Tyson's jibe.

"Pi!" Pidgey called out, slightly muffled and Tackling Snorunt away.

"Sno," Snorunt mumbled, rolling away on its side. "Rut," it said irritably, trying to get its cone shape body up.

"Another Tackle," Goerge ordered.

"Powder Snow, even as you're rolling!" Tyson called desperately.

"Peo!" Pidgey cawed, dive bombing the ice type.

"Snooo!" Snorunt called, mouth open and sending out blasts of Powder Snow, the ground occasionally geting ice patches as she rolled face down.

"Piid!" Pidgey cried in pain, one of the blasts hitting it as it got too close in its attemp tp Tackle it.

"Finish with Bite!" Tyson roared, seeing victory.

"Snoo!" Snorunt called, finally getting control of itself and jumping at the ice covered Pidgey, Biting Down hard on its small body.

"Pee..." Pidgey said weakly, going limp as Snorunt released it.

George recalled his pokemon. "You have won the first round," he affirmed. "Go, Taillow!"

With a burst of white light, a dark colored bird with a red triangle on its head appeared. "Tai!" it cawed.

"Wing Attack!" George bellowed.

Before Tyson could even give out an order, Taillow had already dive bombed Snorunt, slapping it away with its wing and a loud caw of "Taillow!"

"Snoo..." Snorunt grumbled, eyes going shut in a faint.

Woah, that Taillow was much stronger than the one he had face in the forest. "Return, Snorunt," Tyson said, recalling the pokemon with a beam of red light. "Go, Charman... er, meleon!" Tyson finished sloppily.

With a burst of white light, the golden fire lizard appeared. "Char," Charmeleon breathed lowly, fangs flashing with a snarl. "Meon," Charmeleon grunted, taking in Taillow's image. It gave a a disdainful sniff, irritating the bird pokemon.

"Tai!" Taillow cawed in anger, charging at Charmeleon, its wings glowing with its Wing Attack.

"Charmeleon, Scratch!" Tyson ordered.

Charmeleon scoffed, though it flexed its enlarged claws with glee. "Char!" Charmeleon snarled, grabbing the Taillow by its wings with its claws, giving a feral smile. "Char," Charmeleon said with a sneer, smoke already escaping from its nose. "Meleon!" it cried, giving the poor bird a close range Ember attack.

"Taaail!" Taillow screamed in pain, wriggling in Charmeleon's grip painfully.

"Taillow, try and get free!" George called to his pokemon, giving Tyson a disdainful look. "Peck!"

Beak poised, Taillow Pecked at Charmeleon's hands, getting released immediately. "Ta."

"Me!" Charmeleon roared in anger, not giving the bird type enough time to escape. It jumped after Taillow, firing the hot balls of fire right at it. "Char char," Charmeleon laughed as the Taillow screeched out in pain.

"Charmeleon, try a Scratch!" Tyson ordered, a bit wierded out by his pokemon's behavior.

Charmeleon scoffed, turning his back on Tyson.

"What the?!"

George sneered at the younger trainer. "What kind of trainer calls out a pokemon they can't even control."

Tyson glared at the gym leader. "Charmeleon, Smokescreen!"

"Char..." Charmeleon yawned widely, tongue hanging out.

"Taillow," George adressed his horribly burned pokemon, "use Wing Attack."

"Tlo!" Taillow cawed, diving at Charmeleon, wings spread out.

"Char," Charmeleon scoffed, flexing its claws. "Me!" Charmeleon snarled, striking back at Taillow's wings with its claws.

"Taill," Taillow shook, wings recieving more damage from Charmeleon's wings since it had actual nerves while Charmeleon didn't in his nail. "Low," Taillow cawed, flapping desperately to get away.

"Charmeleon, go after it with Ember!" Tyson ordered.

Mouth smoking, Charmeleon opened its sharp toothed muzzle, fire balls escaping from its mout. "Char!" the fire lizard growled, a hint of smirk appearing on its face as the Taillow was hit fromt behind and fell to the ground. "Meleo!" Charmeleon laughed, making sure to give an extra Ember attack to the fallen pokemon.

"That's enough!" George barked, recalling his pokemon. He gave Tyson and Charmeleon a level stare. "You might have won, but until you learn to control that pokemon of your's, you will never truly become a trainer."

Feeling an invisible weight settle in his throat, Tyson wordlessly recalled his pokemon and recieved the badge. What was this? He should have been celebrating! But with Charmeleon's attitude...

Tyson sighed as he entered the pokemon center and gave his pokeballs to Nurse Joy. "Thanks," he muttered.

"Hey, Tyson!" came Andrew's voice. "Did you win the battle?"

Tyson sighed. "Yea, I won, but Charmeleon didn't listen to me."

Andrew gave a soft chuckle. "That's odd, cuz usually its the traded pokemon that don't listen. Did Snorunt do a good job?"

"Yea, she was awsome," Tyson said, a bit more happily. "But Charmeleon... I think he's mad that Heracross is gone..."

Andrew shrugged, though did look slightly apologetic. "People come and go throughout our lives. I'm sure Charmeleon will get over it in time. Just continue your journey and make amends with it. Speaking of which, I need to get going to."

Tyson nodded in understanding. "Good luck, Andrew."

"You too, Tyson."

Waving goodbye, Tyson went back to Nurse Joy for his pokemon, hoping Charmeleon would get better in time. For now, he needed directions on where to go first.

OOC: Does Charmeleon get Dragon Rage as well? I don't remember if it was mentioned when he levelled up past 16.

@Wolfwhispers - Nice post, yeah it did learn Dragon Rage I just forgot to put it up... sorry

Congratulations Tyson won the Soar Badge

Congratulations Snorunt grew to Level 13 and learned Icy Wind
Congratulations Charmeleon grew to level 18 and learned Dragon Rage... again... kind of :)

"My advice would be to head East towards the Mountain Range," Nurse Joy told Tyson, "If you follow Route 2 it will take you right to a rest point at the base of the mountain. The Nurse Joy at the Rest Point will give you directions on how to ascend the mountain..."

My advice would be to head East towards the Mountain Range," Nurse Joy told Tyson, "If you follow Route 2 it will take you right to a rest point at the base of the mountain. The Nurse Joy at the Rest Point will give you directions on how to ascend the mountain..."

Well, that's what she had said an hour ago, but so far he hadn't reached this resting point. With a sigh, Tyson released Charmeleon. When he appeared, the fire lizard turned his back on Tyson.

"Che."

Tyson kneeled down. "Ah, come on, Charmeleon, don't be like that."

"Cha," Charmeleon sniffed, folding his arms.

Rolling his eyes, Tyson sat down and pulled the surprised pokemon into his arms, giving the fire type a hug and ignoring the scratch marks appearing on his arms. "Are you angry that Heracross is gone?"

"Chm," Charmeleon spat, getting out of Tyson's embrace.

Tyson relaxed his chin in his hand. "Are you afraid that I would trade you away?"

Charmeleon said nothing.

Tyson chuckled softly, startling the pokemon. "Charmeleon, you were my first pokemon and best friend. After all that we've gone through, do you really think I'd give you away?"

"Ch..."

"Heracross chose to go with Andrew because of Pinsir," Tyson said. "I would never give away a pokemon unless they wanted it, understand? And I would never ever get rid of you.

"Ch," Charmeleon said softly, head still turned. "Cha," Charmeleon said, eyes looking up as it noticed a pokemon walking down the trail towards them. It looked as if it had just come down from the mountain.

"I know what'll make you happy," Tyson said with a grin. "A pokemon battle!"

Charmeleon allow a small smirk to appear as he faced off against the new pokemon, taking in its snarling fangs and ready body...
