4th Gen Pokemon Platinum - New Team Needed!

    I'm starting a new game of Platinum, and I'm in desperate need of a new team. I've been thinking, and maybe an Empoleon, Togekiss, Spiritomb, Umbreon*, Gliscor, and one other Pokemon. I can't choose, and I need them to be different types, for a good, balanced team. I don't want a Garchomp - I had one in my previous game, it kicked ass, but I want to try something different. No Infernape's, Leafeon's, Glaceon's, or Espeon's. I had those too. xD

    So, help help help! Thankies in advance!

    * = Not sure if this is the right evolution of Eevee I want.
     
    Umbreon is the dark type eeveelution

    If your lucking you can try nabbing an Abra just outside of Jubilife. just simply throw a pokeball at it on the first turn. If you had Chimchar it would be easy since you could use Taunt but you don't want to use one. At first Abra ca only learn Teleport but once it evolves at level 15 you'll get some better moves and some great stats.
     
    I'm not a huge fan of Abra though. I love Alakazam, but I just don't want Abra. It's pretty pathetic. xD
     
    Uh.. maybe you could try.. like an Ice-type? Like a Froslass? They can be useful at times, but if you disagree with me.. you could try getting a Fire-type, like a Heatran or a Macargo.
     
    I thought about a Froslass, but I can't remember when I can get a Shiny Stone. And I'd have to wait until after the sixth gym to get a Snorunt.
     
    Ah.. alright. Maybe a Roserade? This Pokémon helped me a lot in this game, with a combo of Grass-Poison. Well.. good luck on completing... uhh... -checks first post- Platinum!
     
    I'm so picky. I had a Roserade before, I didn't like it. It was sort of pathetic, when I used it. It is probably a different story for you, however.

    And, how could I forget?! When I had my Roserade, when I leveled Roselia up a lot in Iron Island, I found the Shiny Stone and was like "OH EM GEE, FINALLY!" Haha... But, yeah, no Roserade. I've had one before.

    And, for a Togekiss, it's a Dawn Stone that evolves it, right? And if so, where do I find one? I forget. xD
     
    Uh.. I have no idea. Sorry.. well.. uh.. im just taking wild guesses here.. maybe like a Dragon type.. anything that floats your boat.
     
    While you may not want an ice type Pokemon, you're going to need a Pokemon with a good Special Attack and a reliable Ice attack. If you don't, you're going to get murdered by things like Gliscor and Garchomp. Lumineon fit that role quite nicely for me, as well as when I needed water HMs like Surf and Waterfall.
     
    Now that you've put that thought in my head, I've really been liking the idea of a Froslass on my team! I think that'll be one of the six Pokemon. :) And for a Dragon-type, there aren't that many in Platinum, are there? The only one I'm aware of is Garchomp, and I don't want another one.. *cough*Thoughtheyaresofreakingepic*cough* xD.

    I've never thought of an Lumineon either.. Now that I think about it, I'm quite tired with having an Empoleon as my final Evolution. However, Chimchar and Turtwig as so pathetic to me, in my opinion. I don't see much of a use for Torterra - I think it's uber pathetic. And Infernape is a good Fire-type, but I'm not sure anymore. You guys are making me doubt my team now. xD

    Hmm, okay, forget the original team. xD Although, I do want to keep Gliscor. I love Gliscor, have always wanted one, so it's in my new team. :) A new starter? Uhhh, if I have to choose between Chimchar and Turtwig, I will most likely choose Chimchar.. unless someone convinces to me that Turtwig's final Evolution Torterra isn't worthless.
     
    how can you say torterra is pathetic?! have you seen its stats? while infernape has both a high spA and atk and speed a torterra has very good defensive stats and a very good atk stat as well. torterra may be slower but unless you play it unwisely that shouldnt be a problem and his high defense grants him more survivability.

    On a torterra you can run earthquake, hitting its fire weak and stone edge hitting its flying weak. the ice weak is still a slight problem but you can always switch out or do some seriouse damage with a STAB EQ.

    He can also use rock polish alowing you to increase his speed but he really doesnt need it but its still a nice option to have.

    plus have you seen him? he is a freakin giant turtle-dinosaur! lol
     
    Hmm, that does make sense. xD Alright, that's settled. I'll choose Turtwig as my next starter.. But I'm doing soft reset (I JUST LEARNED WHAT THAT WAS TODAY, LAWL.) until I get female. I don't care HOW FREAKING LONG IT TAKES, I'm doing it. xD

    Now, I know two Pokemon I plan on having: Torterra and Gliscor. There are still four slots open for perfect ideas. I'm thinking about a Froslass, so maybe only three slots. And, I need an Eevee evolution that doesn't suck. I'm thinking Vaporeon, for a good Water-type, but I'm still unsure.. Plus, I don't want to look underground for a stupid Water Stone.

    Any suggestions? :)
     
    hm well if you could trade and get eggs to use for your team, meaning you get your starter catch what you can nearby then get eggs for the rest of the pokes you can have your team almost from the start.

    "what i have to wait til the 6th gym for froslass? =(, wait looky here this kind person gave me an egg! omg its snorunt! i dont even have the 1st badge yet" lol

    thats what im doin on my new game to get my team, then you give yourself some more options
     
    That's a very probably and smart idea. I just don't know who to trade eggs with, and I don't have any eggs to begin with.. xD
     
    I've thought about Gallade too.. I think I might, but not sure yet. Any more suggestions?! :)
