6th Gen Pokemon Possibilities and Pokedex Changes Speculation

I've seen threads about pokemon types and whatnot speculating what types there will be and type combinations. But I haven't seen anything talking about what kind of pokemon there might be aside from the ones we've seen so far.

I've been watching videos by a guy name JWitz on youtube, and a few of them talk about how there are pokemon with pokedex entries, that shouldn't be in a kids game, such as Drowzee. who eats kids dreams because they are tasty. And Yamask, who holds the memories and the face of its past human life, and cries about it.... [I'd recommend watching these videos about Creepy/Weird pokedex entries]

So, How about we talk about what kind of pokemon there might be coming up, or possible changes to old pokedex entries that could happen. Generation 5 had a LOT of spirit based pokemon like Yamask and Confagrigus. What will Gen 6 have in store? Will they have more creepy pokemon and dex entries? Will they change older, unsuitable entries? Or will it get worse, in a sense, seeing as it seems Pokemon is getting more...Adult-oriented.

Edit: We could also talk about the visual changes to the pokedex. I believe we already know so far that it's going to be divided into regions, right? What about the rest of it, what will it be like to fit into the 3D imaging?

I think it would be great if the dex gave us the background information on certain Pokémon, such as how they are born, what they like to eat, how much they get along with others, what their common natures are, what type of moves they like to use, and so on. I'd also like it if they gave us the ability to view the shiny form of each Pokémon~

You mean an information page/tag that shows data like what we see on Bulbapedia? Things like behavior, gender differences, etc.? That'd be cool
But the shiny thing won't happen... we will always be limited to the forms we've actually seen/caught.
Which will be another thing, Will Mega Formes have their own place in a Pokemon's dex entry?

I doubt that, it would be very lazy to essentially count them as a new Pokemon. Plus their names are still the same, but with mega, so they are obviously meant to be the same thing.

I never said count it as a new pokemon, I said in a 'pokemon's dex entry'. Will Mega stats and image have a tab of their own? Or will they simply be in the Formes tab?
And do you think that it might add a tab/page to their Summary/party data? Since they do have different stats and abilities. Or would you only be able to see it while it's active in battle?

Maybe there'll be a section in the dex we get after meeting the gym leader who specializes in MegaEvolutions. It could help us get them all and sort of be like a mini dex though for Megas only.

Sort of like, an option? Where you can select Regional, National, and most recently that Habitat list?
That'd work too, where it only shows Mega Pokemon. Though I think, if there is a section, they'll just be an added piece to a normal pokedex entry.

I just realized something... Since we're getting an Event Torchic for the Game's release....That means various Hoenn Pokemon will be in Kalos. And since we already have Mega's from each gen revealed (right?) There might be a few pokemon from each region (I believe there is a thread discussing this, but this is about all I have to say anyways)

Though not official stated, it is quite heavily implied that Kalos region is a different country from the previous ones.
If Kalos really is a different country, then I suggest they should change the 'term' National Pokedex into 'World Pokedex' or with similar term.

As for the Mega Evolutions, I suggest them to be included in the 'forms' tabs, since Mega forms are just stronger forms of those Pokemon -- not a complete evolution. Which as for example, Giratina's situation is a little similar, Giratina changes her form instantly when her item was attached.

Point is Giratina can be in either form, both forms could be considered as permanent form. But both of her form shared the same Dex entry, not having as individual entry for each form. It would be unfair for the likes of Giratina, if these Mega Forms get their own Dex (or even a mini one like Magmaruby and Aquasapphire mentioned).

    Global Dex most likely.
There's a significant difference though. Giratina's change between forms isn't much, and like you said it's semi-permanent as long as it has the orb....
But Mega forms are their own entire thing, including what will likely be significant boosts. The regular Forms tab only shows appearance differences, no stat differences. I hope they add something that will show the stat differences, so we can see them without having to wait for a battle that we can use them in. It could be some sort of Mega tab, or the little Dex thing that Magma suggested, which could easily be an Upgrade to the pokedex from the Megavolution Specialist.

    I have no opinion whether it's called Global or World, it's just a term. {:3}

No stat difference? You meant no base stat difference, right?
Considering that majority of Pokemon that changes forms,
will have their individual stats being altered, best example Deoxys.
That's a bit uh... Not right...?

Well I admit that I kind of mistook Magma's Mini Dex as an individual item akin the Unown Report.
But if it's a mid-upgrade Pokedex, like how Professor Rowan's assistant upgraded the players' Pokedex near Canalave, then I'll have no against about it. As long as it doesn't have its own dex entry.

For the stat difference you suggested, it's actually good.
Though it should be applied to those Pokemon that are able to change forms while stats being altered.

PS. In case, I just wanna say this.... I'm not trying to start a flame, please don't take it that way! I I'm just having a friendly debate with you! ;)

Well the 3DS has a lot of room for new capabilities. There may very well be something in for all forms beyond just seeing what they look like
I think you misread me. The forms tab is visual overall. it doesnt show any stats, letalone changes in them. I didn't say anything else about no stats. I know all form changes have different base stats, and they do deserve their own section in a pokemon's personal dex entry (not one of their own)
But it's more likely that Mega Evolutions alone will get some little thing, whether it's a pokedex upgrade, or a new tab. Maybe a thing where you select a pokemon, and click a little rotation button or switch button in the corner, and it swaps the active entry between Normal and Mega. Seeing as they do have different stats, base, or individual, or whatever, I don't really care, and different, completely unique abilities (in most cases) Hell, they might even come up with a unique description.

I would like to see the Pokedex get integrated with Wifi, we could get information only accessible with Internet connection that doesn't really take away from the single player experience for example who are the most used pokemon in wifi battles, who is the hardest gym leader based on win/lose ratio, etc.

I'm actualy hoping for more creepy pokemon like yamask, those are much more interesting and unique

Pokemon are born from eggs carried by a Togekiss, everyone knows that!

Well, there's supposed to be this new system about sharing achievements right? These things will probably be part of that system. Maybe a sort of Billboard/Data Board at wherever the primary union building is (like Wifi Tower), or maybe in the Pokecenters.

What would be cool, in the wifi aspect, is to get Pokedex data on various pokemon you can't usually get, like Missed event pokemon (Such as Genesect and Meloetta) That way if you want one of them you can FINALLY trade for it (as you can't trade for something you've never seen, which sucks).

Also, remember people, this thread is about more than the pokedex. We've only seen a few of the 171(?) new pokemon, let's speculate about what others there might be. Creature types, styles, etc.

Your prayers have been answered. In Pokémon X & Y, you can search for Pokémon you have not seen in your Pokédex yet, allowing for full Global Trading. Awesome, huh? :)

Wait, really? THANK GOD! Cause I missed a lot of legendaries like Genesect and Keldeo, and Meloetta....
I got a lot of the others though. (I cant even remember how I got Darkrai)
Personally in B2/W2, they should've added in more of those people that tell you about Legendaries (Like the ones that register Zekrom, Reshiram, and Kyurem in your pokedex for you, before you even see them yourself)
It annoyed me that there wasn't a guy who tells you about the Regis... And I think one of the Plasma Scientists on route 17/18 should've told you about Genesect.

But at least this way, people can get legendaries they missed out on, though it is possible in X and Y they will have new events for old pokemon (as they do tend to repeat event pokemon, like Mew)

I wonder if we'll be able to get the hidden legend (the ones they reveal later like Mew, Deoxys, Genesect and the like) like this...it'll kind of ruin the surprise...though those Pokemon are likely to come with ribbons which will prevent trade just like in the in the GTS one can't transfer one...

They will mostly re-release the legendary that can't be traded in Gen 6 Giveaway. I would like to get a Flying or Surfing Pikachu, too bad the Flying is a male since they inversed Chuchu and Pika gender to make these 2 unique Pikachu.
