Background:
When the Hellgate was first opened, the scientists were unaware as to what they had unleashed to the world. It was no longer an innocent place. Thousands of demons poured out of the gate, along with their demonic Pokémon, and a great battle of dominion over the land of Fortuna occurred. A small band of demons, calling themselves the Harbingers, took pity on the humans, and together with their Pokémon they took it upon themselves to defend them from the demon's civil war. Finally able to win the war, these demons had managed to seal the original Hellgate, preventing any further incursion into the human world. They seek out and destroy those demons who still vie for power.
Having helped save Fortuna from destruction the remaining good demons were granted asylum and the village Aequus was born. There they could exist in peace. It was not long however, until humans began to accept them, and also began moving into the village. In fact some of them married the demons and had children.
These children were unlike any other, they looked human, yet they had the bond of an untainted love of a demon and a human. In fact, they even had powers. Seeing an opportunity for equality, the Harbingers trained their sons and daughters to fight the unjust and protect the innocent. With a complementing Pokémon, the two, would serve as a bringer of hope. For the renegade demons still left in the world, they had now something to fear. They may be able to summon their own Hellgates, but ultimately they were brought to justice.
Where you come in:
Fifty years later.
Your character lives in Aequus, and was born between a demon and a human. If you are at a young age, you have been given the opportunity to become just like a Harbinger, while those who are older, have already taken the mantle. The majority of you will be glad to take part to becoming a Harbinger, and those who would vie for more power and otherwise do not believe in saving the human race should PM me. Otherwise you will work to rid the human world of the vagrant and evil demons still trying to take over it (no matter how strong or weak they are).
The story now:
Rumour has it that a Pokémon has the ability to open Hellgates (releasing demons), and has been causing havoc so much so that the Harbingers seem to be readying for some kind of war, they even seem to be speeding up training; perhaps this will play importance in the future. It is at this point unknown if the Pokémon in question is a demonic Pokémon, relic of its old master, or a Pokémon from the human world, acting of its own accord.
However, it is known to be recruiting humans and demons alike. In the case of the humans, they can undergo a ceremony to become a demon and essentially rid themselves of their humanity, this they do to attain greater power. Thus you, as a child of this union, have been given the right to be educated and trained, to become a Harbinger to defeat these evils and defend mankind.
All groups will be given tasks so as to help them train along the way, to becoming a Harbinger. This training is essential in your character's development to becoming a Harbinger. However, the rumours and occurances (as stated above) that have been going around, seem to overshadow your town, perhaps at some point, this will involve you, and perhaps you will be a part of those, that will aid in this newest plot of demonic destruction?
The minimum age to become a Harbinger is 16 years old, the minimum age to become an Intermediate is 13, and the minimum age to become a Trainer is 10.
If you are a new trainer, you will be given small tasks to complete, so as to better hone your skills, and become more acquainted with your Pokémon. This includes and is not limited to practising with a Harbinger, as well as accompanying an Intermediate, learning to use your weapon, beginning to control your demonic side and having Pokémon battles. You are considered a Trainer. (Note: At this point in the story, when the meeting is called, you will have already began your training, but are still new).
If you are still in midst of training, you will encounter more difficult tasks, such as vanquishing lesser demons, retrieving special objects, learning to further control your demonic side and accompanying a Harbinger. You are considered an Intermediate.
If you are already a Harbinger, you will be given certain serious jobs to complete, making sure that you save lives or securing objects.
Only through embracing your humanity, demonic ability and Pokémon, can you truly prevail.
All jobs will essentially level up your Pokémon.
Everyone will begin their RP by preparing to come to a meeting held by the head Harbinger. There he will give out the tasks, as well as some interesting news.
Also, periodically I will make a "story" post, which will drive the plot forward, which may or may not interfere with your current task you have been told to do.
I will be controlling various NPC's and if you would like to interact with one, be sure to PM me. In the cases of when you are training, unless you are training with another RPer, you may control the NPC.
*Note: If you have PMed me and do not wish to become a Harbinger, I will arrange for some plot devices and give you details as to what would entail in not following your own kind, as of course you would not want to divulge your true thoughts to your brethren. Also I will limit the non-Harbingers to 1 per group, except the Trainers, where there will be none (unless otherwise stated).
