Ah well, no announcement yet, we've still got Pokémon Smash this weekend.

Imo, RSE are the most playable Pokemon games ever, that's why they need technical refresh.

I agree. Back then, I found a lot of things to do after I had beaten the Elite Four, and I mean a lot. Perhaps most things were because I had friends who came over everyday who played the games with my brother and myself, so it was pretty much more fun because of that as well. If the remakes can make me feel the nostalgia and if GameFreak really puts effort into these games to please us I mean I would just die really. *-*

Watch me settle down and not get my hopes up too high, then BAM RS remakes announced haha. If that were to happen I'd get even more excited and start going crazy. Probably annoy friends about it too.

Really though, the day remakes are officially confirmed (I'm starting to believe I say that too often :G) I'm preparing myself to feel so much nostalgia. I'm already replaying Emerald and if remakes are announced anytime soon, I'd most likely start challenging the Battle Frontier. & Really, just IMAGINE these games with updated graphics. Currently Pokémon Smash is our only hope. n__n

I'd love to see Hoenn just as beautiful as Unova. Graphics wise, of course. Haha. I've been playing Emerald a lot also, and I've been thinking about remaking my original Sapphire team on the Sapphire remake. I can't wait. :) But I'm letting myself get worked up and I don't wanna. Cause if I ain't hyped up and they're not announced this weekend, then okay I expected it, but if I am hyped up and they're announced, then I will be at Kaori's house and we'll be bouncing off the walls and annoying Shivi. :3

Original team was Blaziken (Chictor), Pelipper (Beat U), Gardevoir (Callisto), Crobat (Dustin), Sableye (Ventispook), and Bellossom (Zany)/Lanturn (The Bum)/Ludicolo (can't remember its name!!)

Agreed 100%. R/S/E are by far my favorite. Hoenn will look so amazing with B/W graphics! I really don't want to have to wait for Gray to be released, and then wait for R/S remakes. I am hoping that somehow, someway, that we get the R/S remakes this year and then Gray next year although it does seem likely that Gray is coming this year.

Like you, I'm not going to get my hopes up too high.

I'm not trying to let your hopes down, if the remakes comes before Grey it won't be better than it, and people will complain about that grey has better features than the remakes, GF will probably reveal the 3rd game first for the DS then R/S remakes later so that everyone at that time would
have a 3DS( that's if the remakes will be for 3DS)

I'm hyped up for 3rd game more than R/S remakes (I think I'm the only one), however if they don't reveal either of them in Pokemon smash I will be mad!!! ὸ.ό

Would comparing Gray to RS remakes even be fair? They're two totally different regions. Plus how would you know if Gray would be better or not yet? First of all, we don't know anything about it and it isn't even confirmed yet! Neither are remakes so assuming this is far too soon. Who said people will complain too? What if the features in the remakes are better than Gray's? There's no information given to answer any of these questions or to make any assumptions, so I wouldn't go that far if I were you. :B

I do agree though, that Pokémon Smash should announce at least one of the two, and not some spin off or the same one that we've already heard about.

Honestly, the fact that we've just had BW for Unova I think much more people are now focused on R/S remakes, it's been 10 years since we last visited Hoenn and regardless of which comes first, everyone will have their own opinion on which is better... personally I know I'd love the remakes over a third game any day of the week but that's just me. They will both have similar features because the remakes will have many features packed into them as will Grey so it's kind of equal.

If it's a huge announcement then I have high expectations and I'm excited too, I don't want some spin-off/event Pokémon that we ALREADY know about to be revealed. The fact that Masuda himself is making a personal appearance and he claimed it as a "Huge Announcement" makes me convinced that it's either a third game or a remake because if you eliminate all the other possibilities it comes down to those two. Let's not forget that HGSS was revealed on a Sunday Japanese show so it could equally be remakes or a third game, let's just see (hoping for the best!)

This too, if they were announced on Sunday my reaction would just be priceless... heck I get excited just thinking about it, I picture all the Towns/Cities remade, planning my new Hoenn team etc. gets me nostalgic! ^^

This makes me wonder if whatever the game is will be revealed on Saturday. If I remember correctly, when HG/SS were planned to be revealed on Pokemon Sunday, the day before it aired they announced the game on the official website and then Pokemon Sunday the next day provided the first screenshot of the game etc.

That's right, they most likely have the ideas it just a matter of deciding what features go in what game(s).

I don't think it really has anything to do with a certain order. HG/SS was released in Japan during the year of Gold and Silver's 10 year anniversary, which is what they were marketing it off of. Now it's the 10 year anniversary of R/S in Japan.
They may have even finished or been near done with HG/SS when Platinum came out, it was just a matter of them trying to market them separately to make sure one didn't get lower sales than the other.

And the making assets for future Pokemon games doesn't really matter considering Game Freak has two teams that rotate between projects. A lot of game devs reuse stuff in order to manage their time better. :P

It would honestly be smarter for them to release the 3rd title of B/W after something else, since the fans are more likely to buy it after not having played B/W in awhile. I'm pretty sick of Unova, and i'm sure i'm not the only fan who feels that way.

They didn't have to make FR/LG if it was just for the Pokedex, they would have make areas in R/S/E that the older Pokemon appears there, FR/LG was made for the old players and the older Pokemon there so the R/S/E players would buy it to complete the Pokedex, so it was to made for more money.

The new Kyurem form should appear in R/S remakes like Giratina did in HG/SS, that's why Grey is still possible to come first more than R/S remakes... oh and please GF don't troll us!, can't wait for Pokemon smash!

I'd rather the Third game come before Remakes because that means more time, effort and development will go into the remakes. Besides I see it more likely to be announced on Sat/Sun (a third game that is or some relation to it)

Only time will tell! I'll be happy with either one announced, I just get so psyched when I think about RS remakes and well, yeah. It's just so interesting to think about going through things I've been through hundreds of time, but this time even more improved and advanced. It's like seeing the future of my childhood but at the same time, going back in the past.

I would buy R/S/E remakes the day they came out, they'll probably reveal whether or not they'll make them in the next year or two.
