Pokemon Sommelier

Many of you may be asking yourself what is a Pokemon Sommelier as was I before Episode 19.

A Pokemon Sommelier is a Pokemon Trainer who specializes in identifying the compatibility between Pokémon and their Trainers much like how a real Sommelier identifies the compatibility between wines and various foods. They use their knowledge and experience to diagnose the bond between Trainer and Pokémon, and from there give advice on how to strengthen that bond.

It has a Ranking system with four different classes ranging from S to C , S being the highest and C being the lowest. As of now we only know of two Sommelier Cilan being one and Cabernet being the other. They are ranked A and C respectively.

With this, it made we wonder a couple things about Sommeliers.

Will Sommelier be a replacement of contests?
What will be the extent of Pokemon Sommeliers?
Will there be many instances of Sommeliers or rivals of Cilan?
What is your opinion of Sommeliers thus far from what you know?

I will go ahead and answer my questions now.

Will Sommelier be a replacement to contests?
It seems that way since I doubt they will go the route of introducing musicals.

What will be the extent of Pokemon Sommeliers?
From what I saw in the episode it could be pretty big. Since in Cabernet flash back it showed her studying in a school for Sommeliers. I really can't say how much of an extent there will be only witnessing one episode focusing on them.

Will there be many instances of Sommeliers or rivals of Cilan?
I sure hope so, I would like too see this turn into a contest and give Cilan and his pokemon a chance to have the spot light. Also I think it is a good way to give character development to Cilan, because we got too see some of his personality outside of what we have seen thus far which is a guy that prepares food for the gang.

What is your opinion of Sommeliers thus far?
I really don't have much of an opinion since there hasn't be much light shed on the whole Sommelier community, but if it develops into something big I would probably like the who concept of Sommeliers.

It seems like it, yeah.

What will be the extent of Pokemon Sommeliers?
The whole thing seems to be something that will be expanded upon a lot, so it should have quite a bit of prominence.

Will there be many instances of Sommeliers or rivals of Cilan?
There should be lots of them, considering how big of a thing it seems to be.

What is your opinion of Sommeliers thus far from what you know?
I quite like the idea of them and what they seem to do.

Will Sommelier be a replacement of contests?

I always thought of Musicals being a replacement of Contests but maybe It'll be Sommeliers not unless they do something similar to Pokemon contests with Sommeliers like them having a battle to see who gets the top rank like Pokemon contests.

Oh yes I think so. Since there was an academy of this; Cilan might have went to this academy and had found many rivals. We might get to see them later on in the anime hopefully.

What is your opinion of Sommeliers thus far from what you know?

It's not that bad to be honest. It's really interesting to see Pokemon trainers do their Sommeliers. I do want to know a bit more about it since it's a new thing in Pokemon.

You know what? I now remember Shooti Trip saying in the first episode that he and Tsutarja Snivy "synced up pretty well" or something. Either that is foreshadowing for the future role Sommeliers will play in the anime or just a throwaway line. But it's cool to think it is foreshadowing.
