The writers are probably saving the story on Silver's mother to base it off a future game plot or something like that.
I do not remember if Sapphire's mother appeared in the manga I need to see into that too although Professor Birch did have a wife in the video games, but some things in this manga are different from the games.

Oh, that's very true. One plot Is Silver finding his dad, if they ever do a remake, finding his mom could be the main motivation.

Red and Green would most likely be renamed Ash and Gary, but i'll give them diffrent names to mix things up.

Red- Cole
Green- Brad
Blue- Brittany
Yellow- Sam/Samantha

Dia: Jake
Pearl: Max
Platina: some posh name like Elizabeth.

Maybe Ruby's mom loves battle freaks. I imagine a lot of girls in the Pokemon world would be into guys with great battling skills.

Heck, yes of course XD Great battle skills = status, me thinks so. And Norman is a freaking battle maniak, but a good one! And don't shoot me, but I can see why she married him in the first place... ^^
