Haven't read vol 29 yet...I had a hell of a time even trakcing down 28, so 29 should be out in......Feb 09?
I somehow always imagine that Giovanni is a nice guy deep down, and that Silver has sister. And that his mom was one of those 'tragic beauties' who live difficult lives, before finding happiness and dying peacefully.
I think his mom probably passed away, though.

Sliver's mother, who we'll call "Sylvia" was dating Giovanni for a years. Remember during the Yellow arc when Giovanni reveals that he has a Beedrill that was born in the Viridian Forest?

Well, I believe Sylvia was born in the viridian forest and gave that to him before she "died". Of course, Giovanni would keep a Beedrill as a memento of Sylvia's life, right?

What if Sylvia faked her own death? She might've had to so she could leave Giovanni for some purpose. As a user of Viridian powers, she might have hated the way Pokemon have been treated by humans. Maybe she gave Lance the Idea of using Lugia's power to destroy the human race? Maybe she's working alongside Cyrus to change the universe? Keep in mind that Mars has red hair like Silver's...

I also wonder how Giovanni and his mother met. Though the writer of this manga would have to base it off a story, reference, or hints in the a future video games before they put a plot like this in the manga because plot this manga is based off the video games.
