Since I'm a hard fan of PokeSpe, I must join this grup. Nice to meet you fellow fans :)
I can hardly catch the manga since it is not released in my country so I'm heavily dependent on online scantlation.

Btw, I found out something weird about this supposed Pokemon Adventures Black and White.
For some reason, it's about 3 dollars cheaper than the other Pokemon Adventures books.
Maybe Viz will release this incomplete version first, then later on, they will have a second version out?

I haven't seen the latest scans of the BW arc yet (since I don't know where to find them online), but I saw some pictures of the first few chapters and N's hair looks a lot 'bushier' than his other artwork. I'm also a bit disappointed that White isn't going for gym battles, but the whole thing with the BW agency sounds interesting so I guess we'll have to see where the writers are going to take this.

also, chamo how did you know about the R/S wide-ban release? I'm just curious since R/S is one of my favorite arcs in the series

Can anyone tell me why chapter update is so slow? B/W chapters already put whie platinum and hg/ss still in the dark. what happen actually?

if I'm not mistaken, they release the chapters in the magazines first and compile them into volumes later on. DP arc just finished being published in volumes in Japan, and heartgold just finished being published in the magazines while the BW arc is currently going on in the magazines. This means that the Platinum and HG arcs are probably going to be serialized into volumes soon.

I think what happened is that more people are "into" BW (or something like that, since there seems to be more people playing BW than the other games) so we are getting more fan translations for things like anime/manga. That's probably why magazine scans of BW are already translated, while the Platinum and HG arcs are still waiting to be published. I might be wrong though, it could probably just be that the scanlators decided to start with BW while waiting for the other arcs. xD

There are people in this club who have not caught up to BW, HGSS, Platinum arcs yet, and they don't read scanlations, so they don't want to be spoiled on what happens. Respect that plz.

It also seems that those scans have not surfaced on the internet, so we are left with only brief summaries about them.
3. Inconsistency with chapters. Magazine chapters are NOT the final drafts that will be put in the tankobons. Instead, they just offer the reader an idea on what will happen. Sure, some magazine chapters remain the same, but others may have changes, such as having altered dialogue, aesthetic changes, and other stuff. HGSS is a very special case, because this arc was rushed due to the BW hype and the fact that 2 of the 3 magazines they were publishing the chapters in had to close down. Thus, the HGSS chapters are out of chronological order, and they "ending" to the arc is very open-ended and incomplete.

imho, I would rather have a consistent, complete arc rather than the scanlations from magazines.

Though I am dissapointed at one thing.
Since it shows that not only did they pass the Dreamyard and Fennel's lab in Striaton City, but now they are going to face Lenora at the Nacrene city Gym...that means that the whole Striaton City Gym Battle seems to have been skipped.

It seems VIZ is about to jump the shark and release a manga called Pokemon Black and White.
At first, it looks like they are talking about some other BW manga..but.
Look at this press release about it...

It seems like the title for this manga is "Pokemon Adventures: Black and White"

OTL DANG IT VIZ.
It looks like they want to cash in on this Black and White hype by releasing the BW chapters of Pokemon Special.

For some, this looks like a good idea because we get to see an official English translation, but ...there are some problems with this.

1.) This arc in incomplete. I doubt VIZ has enough to go on to release their own book for BW.
2.) If they are taking this info from magazine scans, they are risking having stuff changed in the Japanese version once the arc is actually in tankobon form in Japan.
3.) Magazine chapters tend to be inconsistent and out of chronological order. Unless Viz has some info on the BW arc of Pokemon Special, this is going to be a train wreck.

Get off that train while you still can, Viz. ;;3;; I already have much respect for you guys re-releasing Pokemon Adventures. Please don't do this to yourseeeeelf.

I agree with you there. DP got off to a very slow start and then had to cram in its ending way to quickly. The pacing was my biggest issue.

to be honest I'm not that interested in the platinum arc, the only thing I'm looking forward to about it is that I heard steven stone from RS appears in the very beginning (:

and about VIZ taking up the BW arc, wouldn't it be hard to translate accurately if they don't know the entire story yet?
certain details in the story could be off if they try to translate each chapter directly without the entire thing.
also, chamo how did you know they were republishing the RS arc?

Wow, BW popularity really push the whole Pokemon Special. I'm kinda sad since I expecting Giovanni awesome return with his new costume. :(

VIZ is making a big mistake publishing any Pokémon manga pertaining to Black and White at this point, seeing as there hasn't been a Black/White generation manga published in volume format yet (not even outside of PokéSpe).
