Pokémon Spinoff: Pokemon TCG: Neo (V1.41 Update)

I am thinking of replacing the Crystal Type ability with normal attacks, since it's bugged for 3/4 o

this is sooo up my alley. the neo and e-series sets are still to this day my favorites. i don't rly play the card game now the way i did back in the day so this is the ideal way for me to get my tcg fix without having to like. actually play today's meta aha. i'm super excited to play this!! thank you so much for this hack, i can already tell it's gonna bring me a lot of joy.

The other glitch is fixed, but can you describe this Trample glitch in more detail? I can't get it to activate on my end. For instance, what version are you playing and did you beat Gene 4-0? According to your screenshot, he beat you 0-4 so maybe there's an issue with prize counting.
The version was 1.4. That screenshot shows me beating him 0-4 - the 0 prizes left is associated with my side of the field which should be a win condition, so I was confused when me taking my final prize played the failure music. Nobody else fainted on the final turn other than his benched Onix. I'd give more details, but I don't remember any of the other specifics since I didn't expect the glitch to happen.

Hey, i am playing the most recent update, using the mGBA core. I have noticed that when the screen says "If heads, player goes first", an when I get heads, I am still unable to go first. Is this a bug?
Just checked both versions, I don't see it. Do you have any more information? Is this glitch repeating in some way?

Yep, it's repeating, when I get heads, and it says "Player goes first", I am only able to attach an energy card but not attack, so I have to skip the turn.

Oh, that's intentional. In V 1.42 (but not Legacy version), the game's rules have been updated such that the player going first cannot attack on their first turn, much like in modern pokemon. I added it because I felt like this was a good rule for balancing. And yes, the AI cannot attack either.

Legacy version does not have this rule because it's Legacy version.

Just finished my second play through and wanted to take a moment to appreciate the work you've done. I've played the earlier releases and I love how you've gone about tiny details that add so much flavour to the experience (not to mention how self-aware the credit section was lmao), right from Imakuni casually giving you one of the most busted pokemon cards if you beat them enough times, to the grandmasters giving you their signature cards (this felt so well synced with how gym leaders gave you their favorite Tms) and male character sprite having red eyes to serve as the opposite to the blue eyed female protagonist sprite was all wonderful.

However, I do feel that Umbreon is a little busted with faint attack doing 40 to any Pokemon, because there were times when my opponent would do nothing while I went ham on their benched mons. I only had to make one custom deck to take pretty take out the entire game, which was a mix of Psychic and Fire Pokémon, and maybe I lucked out, but I hardly saw any Psychic resists. That aside, I'm hyped for the TCG2 sequel you hinted at! Whoop!

Hi!

I was thinking about making a sort of Advance-era TCG project myself. I was wondering if you could share any general advice, things like what tools to use, what game engine if you're building from scratch, that sort of thing. At this point, the game is almost fully complete conceptually. Just need to start making the thing. Thanks!

Sure! The poketcg hacking discord server has a ton of resources (https://discord.gg/jeZtEab2). See the Useful Links section. There, you can easily access some rom bases we have built and tutorials. Speaking of which, the official poketcg pret has a wiki that is constantly updated on how to do various things. (https://github.com/pret/poketcg/wiki)

For now, I personally recommend using Shaoden's Poketcg_v2 as a game base, because they made everything so easy to find and manipulate. Either that, or if you are a madman like me, Electro's Poketcg Extended base- which can contain up to 511 cards.

I am in the middle of making my own rom base too, for my next hack, Pokemon TCG Advanced. However I can't tell you when that will be done, so I won't recommend it yet,

Regardless, happy hacking.

Thank you so much for the resources! Best of luck to you as well!

Up to 511, huh? I'm gonna have to go find some fat to trim I think >_>;;
