Well, the only way to do that is to install Redshark and Hamachi, otherwise there is no other way to play online without having any cards of your own.

Not that I know of. Plus, you wouldn't find much people playing the game online. There is a GBA game for this, however. But the cards aren't all amazing or new. Further more, it would be great if you started to collect the real cards. It is much fun, and you can go participate in tournaments, leagues etc. Who knows, you might even get invited to the Pokemon TCG World Championships one day if you're good enough! ^.^

None of my mates play Pokemon TCG now, what I did is made a few decks, battled against myself with those decks to see which were the best 2 decks. I have entered a little tournament and came 5th. I may enter a league one day when I feel i'm ready. I hope you do start collecting! Good luck for the future!

Do you need both Redshark and Hamachi? Or can you have one or the other?

And thank you pave low, I think i might just start collecting instead of battling, because some of the shiny pokemon look awesome! :P

That's a good way to start. I have a collection of over 500 cards. It's also fun trading with others, our school was in love with Pokemon and everyone had their Pokemon cards with them every day to trade. Collecting is a challenge, don't give up...

You need both together, since the way IP addresses currently work causes issues for Redshark, which is constantly looking for direct connections. Hamachi solves this problem by allowing users to emulate private networks between computers/devices anywhere in the world, so long as they have internet access.

And collecting is very worthwhile, as is playing. Plus, there's a sticky thread in this section that I made that has guidelines for how to play the TCG with people over the internet, provided you have your own cards.

I definitely suggest just saving some money here and there and buying the cards.
It's much more entertaining then playing online.
If you don't have anyone to play with competitively, don't, just collect.
Trust me, you'll appreciate them lot more if they're real rather than simulated. :)
