Plot
Hundreds of years ago, in the medieval age, there were strange beings (today known as Pokemon) capable of manipulating the elements. They were powerful, dangerous, and, most of all, feared by humans everywhere. They called these beings 'Creatures'. Creatures attacked villages and ravaged crops, earning them a treacherous reputation. Humans thought that they could not be tamed, that they were simply machines, existing solely because they were there.
But then, there was a young boy, named Gilbert Redwood, who was fascinated by Creatures. When he reached adulthood, he was completely dedicated to the research on Creatures. Everybody thought he was insane. One day, he lured in a wild Dustbeak (today known as Pidgey) and captured it. For many years, he studied this Dustbeak, in the attempt to understand Creatures. He was soon known as Dr. Redwood. He realized that Creatures did have feelings after all, after he had seen the Dustbeak chirp happily whenever he fed it a Pechus berry (now called Pecha). Then, one day, something incredible happened. The Dustbeak changed. Dr. Redwood was bewildered by this phenomenon. After several decades of further research, he knew more about Creatures than anyone in the region ever had. He had discovered many crucial facts about them: that they, under the right person, could be tamed and taught to obey one's commands; that various species of Creatures could light-change in the course of their life, a step he called 'Metamorphosis'; and, finally, the most important fact of all, that they grew stronger by battling and defeating others of their kind. His discoveries were sent out to the public, who, of course, didn't believe a word at first. But, gradually, a few people began to open their eyes to the possibilities of Creatures.
Near the end of his life, Dr. Redwood had enough assistants to ensure that his research would continue, even when he was gone. Many other scientists were interested in the subject of Creatures. But they were all adults, the youngest being a man of thirty seven years old. This saddened Dr. Redwood, because it showed that people still thought that Creatures were dangerous. So, he decided to make an announcement. He sent letters to every town and city of the region, declaring that he required several brave, young children of over ten years old to participate in his research and travel around the region, capturing all the Creatures they encountered, and that the candidates that volunteered themselves would have to present themselves a week later, at his laboratory. Parents were horrified, of course, forbidding their children to go. Because of this, one week later, out of all the people in the region, only five candidates had presented themselves.
Dr. Redwood was disappointed, but unsurprised. He explained his plan to the five: he would give them their very own Creature, that he had tamed, and that in exchange, they would travel around the region, capturing other Creatures for his research. The five, naturally, agreed.
Dr. Redwood explained to them how to capture Creatures. He had tried many different methods in the past, and had settled on the one that had proven to be the most effective. To catch a Creature, you had to knock it unconscious first, using another Creature, then immobilize it. For this cause, he had created a kind of metal rings attached to each other, which prevented the Creature from escaping. (Very much like today's handcuffs.) You would then have to drag it to the nearest town or city, where you could drop it off, the citizens knowing what to do with it.
After the explanation, Dr. Redwood gave each of the five a small notebook, in which was written the kinds of medical solutions you could make from wild plants. After all, if either you or your Creature got injured, you would have to know how to treat your wound immediately. Shortly after handing them the notebooks, he passed away.
Your Role

Creatures Information
There are many different kinds of Creatures, but they all have one thing in common: amazing abilities. These abilities, which are most of the time attacks, are called Powers. Each Power has its own Element. For example, a Power such as Thunderbolt would have the element of Electricity.
