Ruby hack: Pokemon: The Eternity Emerald

Too bad we have to play through Emerald once again to reach to the fun part. Why not making some changes, it could be boring. Look, Goku Goku's idea was great, just to deviate a bit from the original game...

I guess you should allow the player to visit a few parts of Johto/Kanto before the E4, then after defeating E4, you get to revisit the rest if the region by re-exploring the place and taking on new challenges. ;)

That's one of the coolest ideas. We are not asking to reveal the whole deal, but perhaps just a bit of it, to give us something to motivate us to keep on playing the same Emerald...

Your decision anyway. Your turn.

Also I want to verify by asking that the new region will have 8 gym leaders and its own league, right?

^ Parts in red weren't part of the original post - I just added it because I can.

I guess I mistook the part that Hoenn will the staple region, not a completely new region, though as stated new parts will be included! My bad! :nervous: I agree with Zel also, maybe you should change the map and inhabitants in Hoenn a bit, just as if years have passed since the original Emerald. Make it a Hoenn that's actually fun and interestint! :D

Woh Cursed, that sounds great! :D So how many gym leaders will be included in the game in total, and will the Kanto/Johto gym leaders be the same people? Also I want to verify by asking that the new region will have 8 gym leaders and its own league, right?

I like where this hack's going! Keep hacking Cursed! ;)

Each Region will have its own 8 gym leaders, elite 4, and champion(I just don't see Koga as a good elite 4 member, though..)

Sorry, but my idea is to continue the story of Emerald from the end of the League into Johto and Kanto.

I may have difficulties releasing a beta due to lack of Violet City and Route 30. Something on Advancemap won't let me add new headers into the list of existing ones.

No, no one in Hoenn is telling you or offering you a chance to travel(aside from the fronteir, that'll simply be there). That's about the only hint I'll be giving before the beta as to how to get to Johto.

Okay, 8 gym leaders each in 3 regions...that seems much, unless about half of Johto/Kanto will be cut-off, thus resulting 16 gym leaders. Depends if you could fit it all in. Well, you don't have to make Koga apart of the E4 if you don't want to. Just don't rush it, and don't give up. ;)

I know about Koga not being necessary as an E4, but I don't know who to replace him with in the Johto League.

Well, I guess Steven or potentially Norman could replace Koga, who's was 'called upon to protect the Safari Zone in Fuchsia town and supervise his old gym'. I guess Norman would be good (though Normal's such a bland type), but if you look at it the Hoenn trainer is his child, so that child could be the new gymleader at his gym - it's just like with Koga's situation. Steven would just be a good replacement overall. It's up to you. ;) I guess you could change the gym leaders or their appearance (i.e. they've aged or grown longer hair) to make it more different to the original, thus it would be more interesting to play through. It's nice to change a few things and add new events and plots. :D

I'm sorry to say that my computer crashed last night and I'm typing this message on my second computer. Therefore I must apologize for the inconvenience of you all being unable to play the beta version of EternityEmerald for at least a week.

Well, that kind of things happen... Good luck with it for when you continue the hacking. And more luck for you to fix those things you said you were having problems with (like, Violet)

Just a question, at least will we battle Falkner in the Beta? (Falkner, or whoever you choose)

Can i help? im pretty good with advenced map but crap with scripts =\ i have and overworld editor and quite a few sprite editors

I'm a mapper for Galaxy Productions. Just PM me if you want some help with a couple maps. I wouldn't mind taking place in this hack, seems really cool. I can also do some text editing.
Just PM me, man.

As generous as your offers are, I am going to have to decline them. I have a spriter, a mapper, and a storyboard manager helping me in the making of this game, although if anything happens to them, I will gratefully accept any help you offer.

In response to Zel's question: I plan to include Falkner in the beta, and the sprout tower will simply be a place to catch Gastly, Rattata(sp?), and of course, Bellsprout.

Well it's cool knowing that I might be able to help...
No no no just kidding, no pressure.

So you're saying no battles in Sprout Tower? But that's how you get flash. By beating the master man of flash and meditating. The Head Sage.

Sprout tower was where the hm for flash was kept in GSC, but players get that in EternityEmerald at Granite Cave.

I agree with Grim, the monk should be some uber trainer who gives you a rare item if beaten, possibly even an item required to get the legendaries. :) also Cursed, you don't neccessarily have to make it that the hiker in Granite Cave give you Flash. Maybe you should do it like here's in a house and gives it to you there. Just change a few things to make it interesting and different from the original. ;)
