yes because it was too young to use and it would of turned out as a diffrent pokemon as charmander below level 10 will make a diffrent pokemon all together

take it this way when i breed a level 9 chimchar with a ditto i got chickorita not a baby chimchar where as if i got charizard and ditto=charmander

How on earth could you get a chikorita from a CHIMCHAR AND A DITTO!?

CHIKORITA IS A GRASS TYPE AND CHIMCHAR IS A FIRE TYPE. THAT HAVE NO RELATION EXCEPT THE FACT THAT THEY ARE A STARTER!
