Popular cultural things that you find annoying

    Everyone has their likes and dislikes. And sometimes, you just look at something and say "How the heck is this popular?!"

    So...anything that is popular with lots of people but just annoys the crap out of you? Why does it annoy the crap out of you?

    For me, its Vocaloid. In my opinion, I think Vocaloid is used by pretentious weaboos who are too lazy and stupid to learn how to sing and/or learn japanese. All you do is punch in words and the damn thing sings it for you! And yet all the users praise themselves as if they actually did something of value. The voices are way to high pitched and annoying. A cheese grater on a chalkboard sounds like Mozart compared to this!!


    Now of course these are all just my opinions, and if you take it as some kind of attack on you, thats just hilarious and sad at the same time.
    So, I stated my waaay to long opinion, what about yours? No need to feel ashamed, speak your mind!
    And don't worry, you aren't a hipster. You're only a hipster if you shove it in everyone's face like you just solved world hunger or something.

    EDIT: Please only use this thread to talk about C&M related things that you find annoying. Politics/societal stuff is more befitting for OC&D. Thanks.

    inb4 a ton of people saying MLP. Haters.
    Homestuck is one thing I could never understand why it's so popular. I tried to get into it, but I honestly found it boring.
    Glee. I use to be a fan of it, but the amount drama in it got to the point where I didn't care. Also they ruin pretty good songs.

    One Direction - the only reason they're so big is because tween and teen-girls think they look "cute". Otherwise, they're not really special in my opinion. Just another corporate boy band.
    Twilight- I read the first book, liked it, but then got bored with the second one halfway through. Then the fact that it spawned like hundreds of other vampire love story carbon copies like True Blood and Vampire Diaries. I'm just really tired of seeing all these vampire shows/movies in general.
    I'm sure I have lots more, but that's all I can think of for now.

    Justin Bieber - Again the only reason they're so big is because teen girls think she (yes, she) is looking cute.The first song i heard by justin was baby.It's only like baby baby baby ooh baby baby.Lol so original?Not.It took 5 people to write it.Lol.
     
    I only have two words for everyone:Sonic Couples! UGH, one of the reasons that I hate Youtube! Thank goodness that i'm one of the few sane Sonic fans that doesn't support Sonic couples! Besides, give me crossover fanart of a Sonic & Hilda friendship more anyday!

    I also hate mainstream music nowadays! Give me a song from a Sonic game more anyday!

    Yyyyyep. Most Sonic fanshippers are really, really, really stupid people. I'm fine with stuff like SonicxAmy, SonicxSally. You know, the usual. But then theres...the Sonic yaoi croud...

    Anyway...

    I find most mainstream music crap. Most of it is rap, dubstep, and Reannah crap. I find most VG music better, mainly because it can range from orchestral to techno all the way to 16-bit awesomeness. Most of them have no lyrics. When they do, they're actually pretty good.
     
    Not sure how Livewire and Razor will feel about this topic, but I just want to say when you are explaining why you don't like something, remember that other people, obviously, do and we don't want anyone offended!​

    There's a lot of mainstream music that's popular that I don't tend to like.. mostly I guess because the songs are catchy.. but because of that, they are repetitive. I have to be in a certain mood for that, I guess.. and even then I tend to like something less mainstream for some reason. If I hear it so much around me it stops being fun, and just becomes part of the background of every day life.

    Some movies too.. like.. The Avengers. Maybe it's because I haven't watched it yet but.. it's crazy popular and I just can't get into loving it as much as everyone else.


    : | And baggy jeans when guys wear it like under their butts.. pull up your pants please, men. I just don't find that flattering.. I dont see how that style caught on.
     
    Jersey Shore.

    Seriously, it is embarrassing to those who are at least PART Italian! Like me!

    Also... Rap Music from 2004 onwards. It was much more tolerable and sense-making in the 90s. Seriously. I get offended by their blatant use of the "N-Word", even though I am white. WHY DON'T KIDS THESE DAYS LIKE SLIPKNOT OR DISTURBED OR ANY OTHER KIND OF METAL?!
     
    Dubstep - This isn't even music. It's just random screeches and beeps set to a rhythm.

    My Little Pony - I don't get it. Watched an episode, hated it.

    Hunger Games - It's vapid, juvenile, poorly written, and based around a cliche love triangle. Sorry, but I'll stick to Asimov and Wells for my sci-fi.

    Hetalia - Racist, xenophobic humor at it's worst.
     
    I find COD fun when I'n playing with my buddies. But, I want it to die, not because of the fanboys, but because of the ANTI FANBOYS. You know what I'm talking about, brain dead Nintendo fanboys who say everyone who even gets the slightest enjoyment out of COD is a die hard fanboy! They're mostly just children who think its cool to hate Call of Duty and praise any other game that isn't an FPS.

    Also, put all the non-animation crap Disney puts on their network. Their 90s cartoons like Beauty and the Beast, The Lion King, Aladdin, Mulan, etc, were MUCH BETTER!

    Most of the stuff Disney has put on it crap. I never liked Phinieas and Ferb. Its too stupid for me. Seriously, all the stupid sister needs to do is get the thing on camera! She even tries that once, but fails. THEN DO IT AGAIN YOU BIMBO.

    Speaking of Disney films, I can't stand Pocahontas. Can't stand it one bit. Its just sooo ungodly boring compared to the other Disney movies. First time I watched, couldn't even stay awake for the first 20 minutes. Recently, I watched it again. This is quite possibly The most boring movie I have ever seen in my entire life. I hate how it portrays the white guys as devil spawn while the Natives look like the perfect people. Some of the stupider fans actually believe the Natives HAVE DONE NOTHING WRONG AND ARE TOTALLY IN TOUCH WITH NATURE AND STUFF.
     
    A lot of things that are popular, I find particularly annoying. One of the most annoying things to me is Jersey Shore. All it is is showing a bunch of people hanging out in bars, getting drunk, getting tanned, and all around acting like a bunch of idiots. I am so glad I don't have cable, so I'm not exposed to this crap (although over-the-air antenna TV has enough crap on it as it is already!)
    Also, celebrities that are constantly on drugs, or alcoholic, or otherwise always involved in some kind of scandal-I get so sick of the constant media coverage that goes to the point of glorifying of these kind of people.
     
    I was just about to say Snooki's pregnancy is annoying, but Jersey Shore in general covers it. I just don't understand it. Or Flo Rida. Leave Sia alone, bro. I find most radio trash to be quite annoying though. And Directioners. Really one-upping the Beliebers as "Most Annoying Fanbase" ever.

    Do you blame them when everyone calls them children and thinks of them as less of gamers because they don't play monotonous FPSes? I digress though. That's a topic for another forum entirely.
