okay who and WHY gave me a bad reputation point in this thread? I dont see anything wrong with my post O_o.
Backstabbers again...-_-;;
I don't have a bad rep from my post here.
And I checked the Nintendo official website, none of the recent articles said that Pokemon is going to end. (Haven't checked Mario though =P)
I found out where you probably got that information from, forums perharps?

Link to search page Purin got on Yahoo
Website source is from: https://www.n-philes.com/

I must note that the article is old, dating back to last year, and because of layout changes it does not exist now. Nintendo probably has to change for the better to cater to new markets, but I don't think Pokemon will vanish. Take a look now 1 year later. It still exists, and the Emerald game's strong sales are proof of it. I will also need to mention that this website is not in favour of Pokemon, as proof I have the link to an article with me:
https://www.n-philes.com/index.php?Id=278
I am really disturbed.

How does this game manage to sell so many copies? It is just completely confusing and utterly stunning. September 16th saw the first day's release of Pok?mon Emerald in Japan, and sales numbers have come in at a shocking 372,000 copies being sold on the first day. Of course, this isn't so shocking when you tally up the track record of Pok?mon, but you can't help but expect slow down for a franchise that has been churning out for almost eight years in Japan.

It's so good, it's disgusting.
We can't just look at one side of the story.

Okay whoever gave me a good rep, thanks. (my account doesent tell me who did but somebody gave me a very nice comment and a rep point ^_^ so thanks)

And Pokemon is timeless. Look at the boxes for the games, nintendo has themselves as the 'Pokemon Company' on them; Pokemon is one of Nintendo's greatest children, it'll never go.

The problem is, the thing has got boring after the death of Gold and Silver. I know the GBA games rule for some people, but they're just not the same. Catching 151 monsters was fun, catching 251 was kind of hard but fun too(I cought them all), but catching 386 or something is just lame. Yeah, what will the next versions have? 500 monsters to catch or something? We all have to face it, the next version will indeed be lame if we have more Pokemon to catch(Unless you're some loser who doesn't go to school and have no job, and no friends, and have got enough money to buy both versions, and have got nothing better to do, then maybe you will enjoy it). The Pokemon Colloseum story mode is not cool, neither Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire. I personally didn't like them as much as the old games. Why? Because pretty much no one here cares for Pokemon as much as before. At the old times, I just put the GBC and my rare Pokemon cards in my pocket and go wherever there are a lot of fans battling and trading Pokemon or cards. Those were the good days. I made a lot of friends out of Pokemon. But now, just look at it. It's just awful when compared to how it was in the past, so that's why if Pokemon died before it gets even lamer, good.

I agree that the Pokemon Colosseum story mode was more painful than watching old Powerpuff Girls episodes, but the series has yet to tap into the true potential of Pokemon... If my sources are right, and they have been thus far, we're in for some major changes in the Pokemon world... Just wait until the true enemy shows up...

I'm going to have to thoroughly disagree with you. More pokemon doesn't make it lame. That is frankly the worst logic I've seen. More Pokemon means more opportunities and battle situations that will prove to be different than all these other battles from the past. And Colloseum was possibly the best thing Pokemon ever did. IT appealed to a more mature crowd through the fact the hero steals, drives a motorcycle, lives in a barren wasteland and used to be a bad guy totally appeals to a more adult crowd. Plus, Ruby and Sapphire has been good for teh series too. In my opinion, Gold and Silver and the Johto saga were nearly the death of pokemon, not the other way around. People ahd grown tired of it, and it had been some time before a new game. Please notice, almost consectuviely with the release of Ruby/Sapphire, Pokemon restarts marketing, the show kicks back up, sails sky rocket, and increased Promotional events worldwide, I'd say you are greatly illinformed as to the issues presented. POkemon is coming back strong, thanks to the new games. IN my school, jsut last year, people would rather kill themselves than admit to liking pokemon. Now, three weeks into the new school year, Iv'e met a handful of people already who are a great deal into the games and TV show, and those that still don't like Pokemon are accepting of others views, unlike last year where they'd sooner stab you with a knife than look at ya. Pokemon has had an increase in popularity ever since Ruby Sapphire had been made. It won't make it back upt to teh fad status from before that you're wishing for, but no fad ever does, and to keep hoping for it is jsut wishful thinking.

And what's with saying you'd sooner see it dead than get lamer? :\ Are you willling to give up on it that quickly? Ar you lobbying for the end of Pokemon as we know it? Because that is the sense I'm getting from your comments quoted above. People here know how I am about nay say, and that has naysay written all over it.

Even if Nintendo suddenly disowned Pokemon and discontinued all Pokemon products, Pokemon itself would never "end" as long as there are people like us with a backpack full of Pokemon games and Pokemania running coarse in our veins.

Yes everything but the school part you have right about me DarkTerror. I don't have a job, I'm Homeschooled so no friends, and I do have the money to buy Pokemon games and the only thing better to do is get on PC (that I can play and post at the same time). So are you calling me a loser DarkTerror?

That is a great post Pogiforce-14, and is right on the money too. I have seen more stuff about Pokemon come out since the start of R/S. And how they had events and stuff. The way I see it new Pokemon on games and stuff is not killing Pokemon or making it "lame" it's helping it. I got cousins that stopped playing Pokemon games but they got R/S and liked it, played it, talked about it asked me questions on how to get passed this or where to find this Pokemon. Before it was like "well I still got my Pokemon games but I don't care for Pokemon any more".

My gosh, how could they do that? I mean, it's a bit hard to kill off Mario and... POKEMON????????? Those Nintendo people, they are really from Ninnytendo. Idiots! They don't know how many fans and buyers they have! And POKEMON????????????? If they thought hard, they'd boost pokemania back up! and mario? my gosh. I mean it had to happen SOMEday, but already... Let's fervently hope so many protesters are fighting the decision back. *dies of depression, misery, horror, and a heart attack*

It's obviously just a rumor. Pokemon seems dead in the US because we have short attention spans and don't like sticking to the same thing for years. But Pokemon is still very popular in Japan, so I don't expect it to die out there. What *may* happen is that they may stop releasing the games in English. That's the worst scenario I can think of. Many games from Japan don't even make it to the US.

The Pokemon manga series is also strong, those who think 386 Pokemon is annoying to catch. It is not annoying, think of it as a challenge. Say 500? Bring it on! The Pokemon games need patience and training, beating the gym leaders just doesn't cut it.

So, stop freaking out peoples, this is why that guy posted it in the Pokemon Rumors thread. :) As long as there are Pokefans, Pokemon will always stay alive!

The power of rumours can be so destructive...lol
Good point there anyway. I won't (and haven't) lost sleep over this =D

It most certainly can. *revives herself from relief* And it's VERY popular where I am, too. or kind of popular, anyway... g2g

Not a Chance
Pok?mon is like a cockroach it's unkillable

The Pok?mon franchise might end in America say in about 4-7 years, however I highly doubt the phenomenon would end in Japan anytime soon or in the near future.

IT will end somtime, everything does. Though I'm confident that it won't end untill all 1171 pokemon have come out.

Sorry if you took any offense, but what I'm saying is, Pokemon isn't as good as it was, no matter how much you try to deny it. You see, everything good has to end sooner or later, and Pokemon is no exception. People would find it more fun to collect 151 Pokemon than 386. Most people don't have time to do all of that, unless they're in your same situation. The problem is, most people aren't in your same situation. You see, most people tend to spend more time either on schoolwork, or on their jobs, or hanging out with friends, etc.

However, if they bothered to try to collect all 386(Most people won't), it would take them a long time to do that, and until this happens, they'd probably just get bored of it after a while anyway. They either won't be satisfied, or just won't care anyway. I personally didn't care about my Pokedex when I was playing through Sapphire. All I did care about is just beating the game, and then I threw it away. 99% of my friends in real life that did buy it(Which were only about 7 or 8, all the others didn't buy it because they think that Pokemon is just too kiddy for them anymore) did the same thing(Buy it, beat it, throw it away). By my previous post, I wasn't trying to belittle Pokemon or anything, but I just think the new games are boring. I didn't like anything in R/S. There's no new features(Except for stupid stuff that I could care less about like graphics and new Pokemon, the new Pokemon designs plain suck, they obviously have ran out of ideas by now). I'd prefer the DS Pokemon game to be without any new Pokemon, just another RPG adventure but with an online multiplayer feature. That'd rock. But I'd rather see Pokemon die than just having a new RPG adventure, 500 Pokemon to catch, and new graphics and Pokedex.

Don't get me wrong, I do like Pokemon(If I didn't, I wouldn't be here), but I just don't like the way it's going at the moment. I think it will die eventually just like everything else, because people will eventually get bored of it and will hope it dies. No one would like to play through the same thing over and over and over again(Or at least most people wouldn't). Nintendo's going to notice that soon, and will either just stop producing more Pokemon games or will come up with some new ideas so people won't get bored.

In conclusion, this is just personal opinion, nobody should get so worked up over it, especially when it's said on the internet.

My brother and I are getting to like the Pokemon games a lot now with the new feature called "Battle Frontier". It was hilarious: though our Pokemon were at level 41, they can still beat those level 50 7 times till they were knocked out. With new ideas all the time being churned out, like the new "double dating", I don't think Pokemon will end. Maybe it can become something like Hello Kitty, who knows?
I don't really fancy Hello Kitty plushies though, although the craze is, I heard, for longer than 10 years, and now she's become a mascot for some organisation which helps children.

386, not including Gonbe. Hold on, Pokemon is gonna possibly end? Where did you find this out (I didn't wanna go through reading every post)No more Pokemon means no more Flannery, and no more Flannery means I'll die! This won't happen, I refuse to believe it!

Again, I have to disagree wtih you. Most people would rather hunt down 386 different ones and give them more thigns to do, than hutn down 151 and beat it easy and be forced to buy a different game. They may eventually get bored of a longer hunt, but at least they got more gaming fun out of it in the long run. And if they can find time to collect 151, then they can find time to collect 386. They aren't on any time constraints. it's not like after a month they ahve to stop playing it. And a great majority of the people would rather just train to be the best than worry about the POkedex anyways. So in that case, it doesn't matter how many there is in terms of game replayability. People play it for fun, and do it for as long as they can. And they do that by having more thigns to do, which is what the newer games promise.

On another note, we aren't denying ir's not as popular as it used to be. If you read my last post, you would have realized that. we're just saying it's not nearl;y as dead as you think it is, and you can't be stereotypical and apply your beliefs to every other american gamer.

And not everything has to die. It may drop down to the bottom some time, but not everything dies. As long as there is a fan base, it will never die. so long as they ahve that Theme park they're going to build in Japan, it won't die. HEck, so long as they make money off of it, it won't die.

and teh newer games have a lot more than you're giving them credit for. LEt's recap:

Reb/Blue: Gym LEaders, bicycle, pixelated graphics, elite four, pokedex, 151 pokemon, Box system, and that was pretty much it. :\

Fire Red/ Leaf Green: Enhanced graphics, Vs. Seeker, Running shoes, Animated item usage, Berries, Berry Masher, Dodrio Mini Game, LInk up with other Gen. Games, Sevii Islands, Pokedex that sorts the pokemon in many more ways than the old one, new box system taht operates much better than before, choice of boy or girl character, breeding, personality, abilities, occasional Double Battles, new moves, smoother graphics, and of course new Pokemon.

Now I don't know what kind of player you are, but you msut be one of those extremist retro players if you look at anything new as sucky and stupid. :\ But most people would prefer sleeker, smoother graphics and an updated gaming engine to something so old.

And now you're being hypocritical. You say you want a new game, but you don't want any new pokemon? What's teh point in that? POkemon is what it's all about, not some bonus things you can do. And they did not run out of ideas. These pokemon were all invented before it was even released. And there are plenty more waiting to show themselves. Did you not read Blue's comment about the 1171 confrimed species of pokemon? :\ How are teh new pokemon any different than the old ones?

Before you come back, I want you to honestly think thorugh your agrument. You're too personal with the situation, and apply your personal beliefs to every situation. which is biased and unfair, and makes for a poor argument. So please, think it over before you post again.
