    So I am 100% unashamedly stealing this from the thread posted in Video Games, because I am also Very Original And Super Cool(tm). So... post 4 anime (films included!) that came out when you were 14.

    They don't necessarily have to be favourites or anime you like to watch, but by all means feel free to include it! For me, my 4 will be...

    Amazing movie! Fairly typical mecha/cyborg/machinae stuff going on, but a solid film nevertheless!

    Howl's Moving Castle
    Can't have 2004 and not mention something of this caliber... if you somehow haven't watched it, definitely recommend! It's not the STRONGEST Ghibli film imo, but it's still a really good watch.

    This was my childhood. Still a classic, still a great watch and I'm glad it has finally got to the TYBW arcs!!!

    Satoshi Kon strikes again - really killer anime series that I recommend anyone who wants their mind taken for a spin to watch!
     
    I know they didn't have to be, but I was curious if there were any anime from 2016 I had watched, since I wasn't really an anime watcher in my early high school years! But I found four of them that I've gone back for. My 4 are:

    Oshiete Galko-chan, a show I heard really interesting things about, highlighting interesting ways of subverting character tropes. I thought it was cute!

    Konosuba, which I really enjoyed for its humour. I thought the way it parodied typical RPG elements I saw in video games was really clever at the time.

    Nijiiro Days, a romance I decided to try out on a whim and really loved. It's one of the only anime where I decided I wanted to read the manga, I just haven't really gotten around to it. I love Mari.

    Netoge no Yome wa Onnanoko ja nai to Omotta?, something that caught my eye considering I've been enjoying an MMORPG in recent years and hoped would capture the same love I have for that experience.

    Also apparently this was the year stuff like MHA, Erased, and Attack on Titan came out?

    Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood - To date one of the best action shounen series ever put out with fantastic characters and worldbuilding, fun action and a compelling story.

    Tokyo Magnitude 8.0 - Something that has been on my PTW for a long time... longer than I thought possible because I thought this was released way more recently than it was.

    Kimi ni Todoke - One of the first romance series I watched - definitely one of the first I watched and also liked. This wasn't the first thing to broaden my anime interests outside of action stuff, but it was an earlier experience with the wider world of anime.

    Fairy Tail - A show that I have complicated feelings about. There is some legitimate good stuff in there, the soundtrack is all bangers and the vibes are there... it's just a shame that there's also a lot of bad writing and bleh animation to wade through to get to the nuggets of gold.

    Interestingly enough, in 2009 I actually wasn't watching that much anime. It was just action stuff and not huge amounts. It wasn't until towards the end of high school that I actually started branching out and exploring more of what the medium had to offer.
