Post Your Yu-Gi-Oh! Deck: Rate and Fix

Not open for further replies.
that would honestly work best in an insect deck. :\

But seriously, the best defense is a good offense. just have monsters with good effects and high attack strengths and you're opponent won't have a chance to pull those uber monsters on you.

Yeah, I know. I just realized that if you have defense, your opponent can't hurt LP, and most likely will hurt themselves. On the other hand, attack allows you to do the opposite- attack your opponent's LP, and possibly destroy another monster.

I guess what I mean is, I know now that ATK is just as important as DEF. D'you think I should get rid of the 2 Aqua Madoors for La Jinn and Dark Blade? I would have just about equal ATK and DEF that way (I might even fix the high level guys)

Only other Harpie I'd run if I could is 2. 3 isn't all that great IMO.

As for the MoF, nice idea. I might sidedeck a couple. You have a point about Terraforming though, I'll run a couple and sidedeck the TES.

And there is NO WAY IN HELL I'm taking out a CEDevice for Ring of Destruction. Horribly overrated card, that...

Accually it's considered a staple, and it destroys the card even if you and your opponet takes life points. It wins games too. You could also chain Barrel Behind the Door or Trap of Board Eraser to Ring.

Since you said Harpie Deck you should run all of them except the originial one.
:D

Mullet: That still doesn't mean I plan to run one. And I have a pretty good idea on how to run this deck, so that means 2 and 3 are out.

coolmaster - Is this supposed to have some kind of theme? What do you want this deck to do? You have way too many high-level monsters (kudos on The Creator though).

I special summon most of my high level monsters except for Blue Eyes and Dark Magician Girl and my main theme is to summon as many high monsters as possible and then destroying my opponents monsters and attacking directly

That deck would never get off the ground. So many tributes, it's bound to fail. Ring, Cylinder, all sorts of cards will stop that deck. Even something as simple as a Compulory evacuation device would be deadly against that deck. A good deck should have 3, maybe 4 tributes tops. Pressing the limit to where they outnumber you're normal monsters practically three to one is rediculous. And they're such week normal monsters too.

Basically, you need less tributes, more 4 or lowers, and a serious rethinking of your strategy.

You stated that already, all I said was it was a Harpy deck, and it should have more Harpy's to be a proper Harpy deck, but it's just my opinion.

Conpulse is starting to be an overrated card here, because you and some other person up here preached how good it was when accually Ring is much more useful and is more game breaking, and it is fact that Ring is game breaking and wins duels, that's why it is limited to one, and Compulse was not, and 2 is enough anyway.
:D

Coolmaster, I may be able to help you. I used to run a deck like this a long time ago, hehehe, before I got the advanced rules of deck building down, too.

For starters, ditch Sage's Stone. Go ahead, it won't do much good- you NEED Dark Magician Girl on the field AND a Dark Magician in your deck, and I don't recommend either (unless they are comboed effeciently). The traps are alright, and I love that combo of BRtS and EoT, too. I used to use it all the time...

Pick- Dark Magician, Dark Magician Girl, and Sorcerer of Dark Magic ; or The Creator, Dark Ruler Ha Des, and Blue Eyes; or The Creator, Blue Eyes, and Dark Magician Girl. Pick any choice, it really dosen't matter, but keep the Creator Incarnate if your pick one with The Creator.

You need some overall basic revamping.

The average/best level 4 or lower (no tribute) monsters are 1800/1900 ATK, and 1800-2000 DEF. With this in mind, try to sort these lower guys in ATK, effect, and DEF piles when you're making the deck. You should have about (out of 20 monsters) 8-10 ATK, 7-9 DEF, and any other monsters that have terrible stats minus their awesome effects (Kuriboh) should fill in the gaps. If you can, find monsters that have effects and high ATK/DEF (Homunclulus).

I really can't help you with the whole deck, because I don't know every other card that you own. Just keep in mind, also, that you should have 40 cards or more (Max 45) and have, at least, 18-22 monsters, 8-12 traps and 8-12 spells. Good luck, and I hope I helped enough! Oh, if you plan to enter any tournaments, try constructing a Side Deck to help (see Starter Deck instruction booklet for more info).

Thanks for the help, but the reason I dont have a side deck is because I dont have enough sleeve things with the same colour. This may sound idiotic but that is my reason

I really like those low-level guys, along with spells and traps, but you really need to get rid of some of those high level ones! I have DP and SoDM, too, so I actually can help you here. My advice- get rid of Dark Paladin (and Polymerization). He's too hard to summon, squat. Ditch Buster Blader (don't need him now), Skilled White Magician, and two Dark Magician Girls (if only they boosted themselves in the graveyard too). Throw out one Dark Magician. There. You are much better off. Although you should only have max 4 tributes, you an actually survive now! Oh yeah, you can only have 1 Mystical Space Typhoon. I know, bummer.

Overall, it still needs trimming. You should now have 43 cards in your deck- almost perfect. 23 monsters, 7 traps, 13 spells. You need more traps and you need to shave off one or two monsters or spells. Other then that, I'd give this deck a 8.5/10! Nice lv 4 ATK, DEF, and awesome spells and traps.
Way to go!

thanks, good advice. i think i will take dark paladin out, you're right he's way too hard to summon. which means buster blader, skilled dark magician, and polymerization are out too.

but i'll keep all the magicians in, the balance of too many tribute monsters have never gotten in the way, mainly because i summon so many by special summon. 4 in fact. i'll get as many dm's out as possible using sdm. then i'll use a couple of spell cards such as dark magic attack and thousand knives. then once the dm's use to me is basically gone i'll sacrifice one for dmoc using dedication through light and darkness, the other two for dark magician girl. then once i get my third one out, i'll use mystic plasma zone to increase my entire spellcaster army to 3400 and 3300 attack points. then i'll start destroying enemy monsters, and once i get diffusion wave motion i'll use that with dmoc and then finish the match up with dark magician girl. so i'll just leave them all in. but thanks for the advice

mew_master: Spellcaster decks own. You made a good choice. Still, you need to trim out some of the fat and streamline it a bit, this deck is WAY too bloated. Trust me on this. I'll try and get a construct up for you later.

Mullet: You'll forgive me if I seem to think you're a moron. While I do appreciate suggestions, I do know what I DON'T want in this deck, and RoD falls under this category. Sure it's game-breaking, but it can also work against you. And if Compuslory Evacuation Device is such an overrated card, why don't I see it being run more often?

Right, down to business. As I plan to attend upcoming Regionals, I need to get my main deck in order. However, as I may need advice, I present to you version 3.0 of my Earth/Swarm deck, now with creamy nougat Side Deck goodness!

For the record, if you suggest anything, start with the Side Deck first, that's what I need to concentrate on the most.

Theme: EARTH Attribute
Total Cards: 45 + Side Deck

Tribute Monsters (2):
2x Dark Driceratops

Non-Tribute Monsters (22):
3x Gemini Elf
3x Beserk Gorilla
3x Nimble Momonga
2x Giant Rat
2x Goblin Attack Force
2x Maruading Captain
2x Enraged Battle Ox
2x Hayabusa Knight
1x Injection Fairy Lily
1x Cyber Jar
1x Breaker The Magical Warrior

Changes: Removed Jinzo, Exiled, Fiber Jar, and TIV for Nimble Momonga, Cyber Jar and Breaker. Momonga for deck thinning and recovery, and Breaker for m/t removal. Jinzo's gone for good (rarely used him anyway), and Exiled/TIV have gone to the Side Deck.

Magic/Spell (14):
2x Gaia Power
2x Nobleman of Crossout
2x Axe of Despair
1x Swords of Revealing Light
1x Pot of Greed
1x Mystical Space Typhoon
1x Premature Burial
1x Change of Heart
1x Snatch Steal
1x Giant Trunade
1x Heavy Storm

Changes: None. Was thinking of taking out CoH for something else, any suggestions?

Trap (7):
3x Compulsory Evacuation Device
2x Draining Shield
1x Magic Cylinder
1x Call of The Haunted

Changes: Added a CotH and got rid of Raigeki Break and Spell Shield (friggin' errata)

Side Deck (15)
3x Smashing Ground
2x Divine Wrath
2x Hallowed Life Barrier
2x Raigeki Break
3x Magic Drain
1x Tribe-Infecting Virus
1x Sinister Serpent
1x Exiled Force

That's about all I can think of off the top of my head. Smashing Ground just because, Divine Wrath to counter those pesky Effect mons, Hallowed Life Barrier to prevent FTK/OTK, Raigeki Break for extra field control, Magic Drain is hilarious, TIV/Sinister Serpent is obvious, and Exiled if I need extra field control.

I'll also be posting another version of my Harpie deck with some changes and another deck I've been working on later.

Cheers.

Wow. That's a pretty good deck- I like the monsters and the spells, but you need a few more traps, and maybe a little less spells. Good choice on total amount- never go any higher that 46. Other than that-awesome.

Time for my deck. I have (finally) a central idea about the more advanced strategies of Yu-Gi-Oh. So, without further ado, my deck.
