I'll use my standard team that I have stuck with since the original Silver Version (Platinum is the only acception):

"image removed"Dragon / Flying This was extremely hard to obtain, trust me. x_x I just really wanted a shiny Dragonite, and a 7/8 year old playing a video game always gets what he wants. I've had a shiny dragonite in every game except for Ruby and Sapphire until I got a Dratini from FR/LG.

"image removed" / "image removed" Ghost / Poison OR Electric, respectively. These two constantly switched in and out of my team depending on what I needed to do.

So ya, this is my dream team, in a sense. My R/B/Y team was so horrid that I didn't even bother sticking with it for G/S/C, but I did get my Blastoise, Nidoking, Arcanine, Gengar, Dragonite and Eevee from there, although they weren't on my team until Post-E4, excluding Blastoise considering he was my starter.

For in-game, I might go the nostalgic route and do something similar to the team I had in the original Gold, way back when I was like... ten. xD; In which case it would be something along the lines of:

Typhlosion
Umbreon
Noctowl/Pidgeot
Ampharos/Raichu
Lapras... I think that's what I used. xD; maybe red Gyarados too, since it looks cool :p
maybe Jumpluff for cuteness, or Shuckle because they make me laugh, or Ursaring because it looks awesome... I dunno. xD

So as you can see, I really don't have a strong idea for my in-game team. As for competitive battling... I have even less of an idea! xD; I'm just excited for the games to be released, that's all I can think about. x3

Ι don't know which pokemon will you be able to catch in the first route(in pltinum it was biddofs,dudews,starlys).If the pokemon you can captureare not good,i will have:

squirtle
taillow
bulbasaur
kecleon

I suggest getting both HG and SS so you can have this party in at least one of them. If you can trade Pokemon Eggs like in Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum, you can trade a Taillow egg, Bulbasaur egg, and a Kecleon egg to the version you beat first, and then trade the eggs to the the other version when you are able to. This is only in case they make you beat the E4 before trading with DPPt. If not, you can just get the eggs in Diamond, Pearl, or Platinum, and trade them to HGSS.

Cyndaquil. I was gonna pick Totodile [I always pick water pokémon] but picking Torchic in Sapphire recently I realise it's a huge advantage to have a fire pokémon [I dont really like fire pokémon] in my team.

Typhlosion = My new crush xD

I havent decided about other pokémon yet.... but Lugia definitely [SoulSilver <3] on the top of my legendaries list.
