President Ronald Reagan dies at the age of 93

Too bad he died without knowing that he was a president. He died not knowing who his wife was.

There actually is a constitutional amendment that bans a president from having more than two terms...it was enacted by President Eisenhower back in the 50s :P
Okay. It's good to have that confirmed. XD Thanks.

I actually did think there was an amendment about it or something. But this goes to show how well I do in civics. Okay, so there is an amendment... that's good to know cuz I wasn't sure! I knew it wasn't in the original constitution though. And I was too lazy to get my book to check up on this...

Oh, so that's who that old dude was. I saw him on the news tonight, but didn't catch his name. LOL, I hope he was a good president, I wouldn't know - we don't have presidents here, only really stupid PMs XD

On July 4th, 1826, exactly 50 years after the signing of the Declaration of Independence, presidents John Adams and Thomas Jefferson both died...

I actually feel sort of bad for knowing all this o_o;;

Don't feel bad knowing that... I knew that too actually! Within minutes of each other or something like that, right? And weren't they in some sort of arguement or something like that. I think they were rivals though. I could be wrong though... like I've said before... I'm doing awful in my civics class...

Yeah, they really hated each other from what I read...Adams was a Federalist (the last Federalist present we ever had...they supported the rich over the poor and stuff like that) and Jefferson was a Democrat-Republican (back when they were a united party...they were for the common man or some sort of economic policy that benefitted them better or something...)

Adams was actually pretty insane...he had laws passed that prevented freedom of speech and the press and all that and had other laws that discriminated against foreigners (The Alien and Sedition Acts or something like that) he was like our worst president ever :P

There were two full pages dedicated to Reagan in our (spreadsheet) newspaper this morning... it was rather interesting, actually. All his acting and stuff.

We had to watch a video (as usual) in Social Studies about each president, and that's how I knew. I don't feel bad for knowing, since I didn't know every detail.

I used to kidn of like Ronald Reagan, until I found out he was a republican, but who cares. He's a person, and it's always sad to lose someone.

EVERY president? How did you stay awake for most of those? o_O Imagine watching a video on Millard Filmore or someone like that...it would probably be a tintype of him with slow mandolin music looping in the background for an hour...a lot of 'em never really did anything o_o;;

It had every president on the video, but we only got up to...20 I think. We always watch stupid videos. We just finished glory, which I slept through 2/3s of the way.

Omg, I'm so glad I didn't have to watch something like that in history. Instead I had to listen to my teacher talk about each one of them, which I tried to sleep through, but he really gets into his lectures, and gets really loud. I did watch Glory for extra credit, but the main character was such a bad actor, he kinda ruined the entire movie.

That's the point of presidents - they sit there and look pretty XD

I think that most of our recent presidents have done more harm than good, espically Bush. They don't really do what a president should do, but do whatever they think will get them popularity among voters. First we were fighting Iraq becuase they had weapons of mass destruction. (Which we have the most of...) Then, when they found none, the war was about helping Iraq by blowing up inncoent people. My point: Bush has no idea what he is doing.

It is wise to remember that politics have no place at PC :);;

All presidents have done their share of harm, actually, some more than others, but I'm sure there's never been a president that doesn't have someone's blood on their hands...well maybe William Henry Harrison...he was only prez for 30 days :P I'm glad we didn't have to learn about each individual president in school...we were taught about the more important ones, but I couldn't imagine going through a lecture on James K. Polk or Chester A. Arthur ... instead we get bored learning about all sorts of stuff...I'm glad I had World History this year, the rest of the world is so much more interesting than us ;P

Whoops sorry, didn't know.

Heh, I think that some parts of the world have a more interesting history than us, but I hate history in general so I don't really enjoy any of it.

Yesterday at exactly 4:10 PM EST.. O_o He died b/c he was old.

Me and my dad were watching the Belmont Stakes when this program thing popped up about how he died. My dad was really POed that he had to die on the day of the Belmont. It was acually kinda funny to see how my dad reacted to a former president dying.
