    Lately, I have had problems viewing the site. When I attempt to go to the website, the "Cannot find server or DNS error" comes up. I have dial-up, and other people might be expirencing this problem too. If you do, there is a temporary solution. Go to https://www.anonymouse.ws/

    I am also wondering what the problem is. Could anyone tell me?

    It's the server, it gets bogged down and dies when lots of people are on. It's been happening a good big lately, but it goes away in 2-10 mins.

    yeah i thought the 403 error meant it was gone, too... at my grandmas, for days, it kept saying that there was a database error and that an email has been dispatched to the technical team, and had an email address "if the problem perists" but i sent an email, and the email wasnt availiable...

    There is no need to write an email, I think the email which is sent automatically serves its purpose.
    Seems like it's been a little better lately (at least for me9 :)

    It happen to me today a few times.. but it hardly bothers me cause I go to some other forums and come back...

    shows how much loyalty you have to PC! lol just kidding... but yeah, i do the same...

    Charmaster - That was sort of a pointless post to make. Please don't do that again. =/

    Hell, I go to other forums, and I'm loyal to PC. @_@

    Today I have been getting this message:
    Warning: mysql_query(): Unable to save result set in /includes/class_core.php on line 404
    this only occurs when I try and click on 2nd page on threads which only have 2 pages in the Hacks Showcase

    Yeah i'm getting that problem alot when i try to veiw the last page in some threads., I jsut go to other threads

    If I'm correct if you change the mySQL database you will lose all the members right? If you don't lose members that way then I think you should create and switch to the new ione.

    o_O;

    Yes, if you were to reinstall vBulletin in an an entirely new database, you'd obviously be starting anew.

    Surely you've seen the Reference Board? That was the original PC, back in 2003 things similar to this were happening, so Kwesi + the others just started over, hence, PC as you know it now.

    o.o
    You can always move the data to another database without losing it o.o
    There would be no point of moving it then though, since it wouldn't make a difference...

    You can reinstall vB on a new database and simply import your old data to the new database, but when we had to restart back in 2003, the database and the files were actually corrupt. Instead of just getting these annoying errors like we get now, we kept getting really nasty ones like postcounts decreasing by thousands overnight (I lost all of mine at random one day XD) and any thread that went over 10 standard pages would be systematically deleted, etc. So the only way to solve it was to start fresh because otherwise, we'd probably just be porting over the same errors that were giving us the problems in the first place.

    Considering we haven't had any of these malicious errors yet, that I know of, I doubt we'll have to restart from scratch again. This is just us outgrowing the server rather than pure fault of the database as far as I know. ._.;
