Psychic or dark?

Espy is awesome. Umbry cannot compare to Espy. Espy kills almost everybody with ease using Psychic. Some Umbry cannot deal any kind of damage at all(Chaos Umbreon), and others require Poison and Confuse to do anything(Trapping toxifusion Umbreon). The one I use, e4 Umbry, uses Faint Attack, so it can at least do something, but with its weak SA, it does little. E4 Umbry still uses C Ray and Toxic to do the majority of its damage.
Teams consisting of all sweepers can win some battles, while teams of all defenders never win at all.

Absol, Sneasel, and Shiftry are the only good Dark types. But Psychic has more weapons in its arsenal. Alakazam, Gardevoir, Mewtwo, Lugia, Deoxys, Espy, Hypno, and Slowbro.
Zam, Gardevoir, Espy, and the 00bers are attackers, while Slowbro and Hypno have resistance to one of the most prominent weaknesses of Psychics--low DEF.

Anyways, while I like most dark types (with the exception of anyone not a dog/fox or dinosaur), Psychics tend to have an advantage. What use is an immunity to Psychic if you can't take out the enemy? Not to mention that Psychics normally have such a high Special Attack that they could defeat a lot of Dark-types in two or three hits. Not to mention that Calm Mind bolsters their special defense even more. And let's not forget, a lot of Psychics come equipped with a recovery move, such as... Recover... and Morning Sun.

Because most dark types have higher attacks than special attacks, they rely more on Shadow Ball than whatever pathetic Dark Attack they have available. (Though STAB 90 Faint Attack > 80 Shadow Ball, Attack of 300 > Sp. Atk of 240). Most Psychics also have weaker defenses, so Shadow Ball ends up doing more damage. But guess what? Shadow Ball's ghost, not dark. So Dark loses.

I love Dark Type Pokemon, they look cool, good stats, moves etc. And I just love the name Dark, I used to liike Psychic but I find that boring now.
