I think almost all of us could agree that Ruby with FR/LG graphics is the best mix. Most of the posts I see are putting Firered down because of better graphics. You can take ruby, which is the most stable out of all the Pokemon Roms, and combine it with Firered. You have all the extra features of Ruby and the excellent graphics of Firered to make one good combination.

FireRed would be the best choice for beginners because its very simple and easy to hack..!

Why don't all of us take a poll which is the best for hack:
    -Pokemon Fire Red
    -Pokemon Ruby
    -Pokemon Emerald
Only three, OK?(Because I think these are the common ROMs)

I'm a beginner in hacking but i already decided i will use pokemon ruby for the base and i was also going to base it in Kanto which means i'm going to import the graphics from fire red. I also believe that it is down to the person who is doing it and their prefernce to which game they like more.

I guess Ruby is a bit better... Maybe because the graphics thing can be imported and exported or edited... Also, VS Seeker doesn't seem to be of any use other than rematches which are easily fulfilled by the PokeNav... Or maybe sometimes the Fire Red roms are more stable than Ruby... (but in my opinion, Ruby is more stable than Fire Red)

Locations? As in where you can find them?
    Like, what wild Pokemon where?
    AdvanceMap can change that...

Ruby by a long shot. Even though it doesn't have as good graphics you have all those extras and I personally think it's easier to edit maps in Ruby.

    My opinion

    I think Firered is:

    Better than Ruby:
    - Sevii Islands, so more Flying Locations
    - Better Graphics
    - More Trainers
    - RSE Trainer Battle Sprites, so more Battle sprites to replace
    - RSE Key Items, so more items to replace

    Worse than Ruby:
    - No clock system
    - Hard way Title Screen editing
    - Hard way Worldmap editing

    I think Ruby is:

    Better than Firered:
    - Better music (for someone)
    - Easier Title Screen editing
    - Easier Worldmap editing

    Worse than Firered:
    - Bad graphics (can be changed, you saw what DJG did to Rescue Rangers)
    - Less Flying Locations

Fire Red is better than Ruby but is has a poor soundtrack. You can fis it with sappy but whatever.

Can someone help me to edit my hack's world map? (it's a Fire red one)

I can't find the stupid map either the tiles at UNLZ, i looked up for the 1000+ graphics and i didn't find anything. Every image is messed up. (i know, i sound like a noob with all this but i dunno how to see the images correctly)

Can someone tell me the indexes of the four world maps in FR? plzzz!

I was thinking on hacking Emerald but my Advance Text doesn't support Ruby, Saphire and Emelard, and many programs don't work with that versions either. (what is sad because Emerald has a VERY good soundtrack... Gold/Silver musics!!!, snif...)
