    Alright, I don't know if this is in the right forum, if not Mods feel free to move it.

    I'm wondering is Pokemon Platinum worth it. I might be getting a DS and this game for my upcoming birthday. But is it worth it? I already have Pokemon Gold from a few years ago I enjoy, but I wanna upgrade to somethin' fresh.

    Pokemon Platinum is definatly reccomendable seeming as your latest game is Gold xD
    It's a must have for you ;)
     
    Platinum is definately worth the money you pay, but the storyline is a bit weak.
     
    Well i would probaly recommend watching a few Game trailers. You should view them and make your decison. If you dont fancy wasting too much money get Diamond/Pearl as there like $15 or £12 on ebay and things. Thats my opinion though.
     
    Are there any big differences between Diamond/Peal and Platinum?
    Will I be confused playing Platinum if I haven't played D/P?

    not huge differeneces but in plat everything looks a little different also you can get the different rotom and shaymin forms in plat
     
    Yeah, definitely get Platinum. Get all those other Pokemon you missed in between, plus all new ones of the Sinnoh region. And you're eyes will thank you for the upgrade in graphics and sexiness XD

    ALSO! Can't beat that fact that's it more or less, two games in one (Pearl and Diamond), though the Pokemon you'll find in Platinum varies slightly from the previous two.
     
    It's up to you if you want to get it or not. There's plenty of threads around here that have the ups and downs of Platinum so you can read those and decide for yourself.
