lv. 100 magikarp?

I've heard about it from the guide... Somewhere in the pond in Resort Area there's actually a level 100 wild Magikarp! Has anyone found it yet? if so, post here. until then, I suppose post records for the highest level Magikarp -or other pokemon- you have fished out. so far I've just got 31. T.T

I thought that everyone knew that you can find such stones without using the underground passage. Also, I just beat my friend in Platinum vs. Platinum over Wi-Fi, both had Voice Chat on and we were talking on the phone, it's hilarious. Still won, though. But, where can I easily get a Gengar? I need one to prove I am stronger, even though I should be lagging behind by now.

You can either trade a Haunter, obviously, or find wild Gengar in the Old Chateau while any of the five GBA Pokemon games are inserted into Slot 2.

I'm pretty sure that you can find one in a certain room in the Old Chaetou (where you find Rotom), but that was in D/P.

So, in one of the 5 rooms, where in one, you can find Rotom? Thanks.

Rotom is inside of the sole television. However, that is not the same room that you would want to go to. I believe that the actual room is to the right of the first section.

It is usually described as "the room with the creepy eyes", if that helps.

You find Genger in the room with the spooky eyes on the wall, so long as you have a GBA game inserted.

Okay, I got my answer. It still creeps me out, though. The room with the glowing eyes... how is that possible?

Does anyone know the rates that you can find a Shiny/Thunder Stones in the Underground before defeating the E4? I'm in Hearthome, got myself my Togetic and Eevee, and need to evolve them :P (Although I might just go Espeon on Eevee :P)

Not sure about the rate, but I'm pretty sure finding any stones underground would be the same chance before and after the Elite Four. I've never found a Shiny Stone underground though, so not sure.

It's very rare to find Thunder stones underground before beating the Elite Four (and Champion), but afterwards, it's pretty common (uncommon would be the word that describes the rate). Shiny stones not normally found through the game are only available through the Pickup ability (there's one in PBR if you want to get picky). It starts at 3% at lv. 41-50, 5% at lv. 51-60, and 10% for the rest of them. Does this answer help?

Is the bicycle animation in Platinum messed up? The rate of movement is the same as D/P, but the cycling animation is way faster. Has anyone else noticed this? I only ask because I haven't seen anyone else mention this.

You can just ait for Iron Island for the Shiny Stone.

For the Thunder stone you can get it next to Sunnyshore city.

But eevees other evo's are avalable at this time like

Espeon (happiness in Day)
Umbreon (happiness at night)
Flareon (Solaceon Ruins)
Leafeon (eterna forest)

Does anyone know?....

Does anyone know when they are giving out the secret key over wi-fi?

I've not noticed anything out of the ordinary. Is your character male or female?

Does anyone know when they are giving out the secret key over wi-fi?

Nothing has been stated yet. Just watch the official Pokemon Platinum site and you'll know when the rest of us know.

I just got pokemon platinum and i was wondering if everyone could give me their opinion of the best 3-6 group of pokemon to play with through the entire game... no legendaries please. I played and completed diamond but I wanted to try a different line up for platinum

Infernape ( Flamethrower , Close Combat , Grass Knot , Earthquake)
Luxray ( Crunch , Thunderbolt )
Staraptor (Brave Bird , U - Turn)
Floatzel ( Crunch , Surf , Ice Fang or Ice Beam)

Empoleon ( Surf , Grass Knot , Ice Beam )
Luxray ( Crunch , Thunderbolt)
Staraptor ( Brave Bird, U - Turn , Close Combat)
Gastrodon ( Earthquake, Ice Beam)

Torterra ( Crunch , Earthquake , Grass Type Move )
Floatzel ( Surf , Ice Beam )

Question About Starter PKMN for Platinum

Okay, so now I've used PIPLUP, CHIMCHAR, and TURTWIG at least once. And although Piplup was HARD AS HELL to battle with and Lv. up at first, once the game progressed, he was the best starter I've ever used, or so it seemed. But I find out that TORTERRA has the highest Attack AND Defense Stat, while INFERNAPE has the 2nd highest Attack and lowest Defense, and EMPOLEON has the LOWEST ATTACK (REALLY?) and the 2nd highest Defense. So, my question is, despite Empoleon's obviously lacking Stats, should I pick him again as my starter Pokemon once I start Platinum, or should I pick Turtwig or Chimchar? Who would you guys choose, or who have you guys chosen already? And keep in mind I don't really want to stuff Empoleon full of Vitamins to raise his Stats, but I can, if I can get all that much $, b/c you buy two Proteins or Carbos or any else, and, before you know it, you're broke!

**HOPE I DID IT RIGHT THIS TIME, I POSTED THIS SOMEWHERE ELSE AND WAS TOLD TO POST 1/2 OF MY STORY ON "SINNOH TRAVELING JOURNAL" AND THE OTHER HALF ON HERE, THE Q&A THREAD. SORRY I'M QUITE NEW AT ALL THIS! =)!

Well, I went with Piplup when I originally started my first Diamond file, and I'm using Piplup for Platinum right now. I like him a lot. Ugh, I know these are choppy sentences, but... uhh... deal with it. Anyways, I choose my starters based on who I like the most, which in this case is Piplup. But yes, the Piplup line does have the lowest base Attack stat. However, water pokemon tend to use sp. attack moves (e.g Bubblebeam, Surf, Brine), and Empoleon has the highest base sp. attack stat of all the starters, as well as the highest sp. defense stat, so he can take quite a few special hits. Lastly, he has a secondary Steel typing, providing him with 11 resistances and 1 immunity, so he can take a ton of attacks.

All in all, I like the Piplup line, but your choice depends on if you want more of a sweeper (Infernape), a physical wall (Torterra), or a special wall (Empoleon).

Hope that helps.
