Quick Question and Answer Thread / Breeding Questions

Gabriel, I hope that you are using Super Luck and a Jolly/Adamant nature, correct? Also, I'd suggest giving it Psycho Cut over Night Slash. You lose STAB, but it can provide better coverage, especially for Hariyama, which will wall your set with Night Slash. Try both sets out, and then make a decision.

Ummmm... To be honest, I use a modest nature. I'm not that good to know what natures are best for each pokemon. I have a list of what stats what natures make better or not. I'm gonna try Psycho Cut. Where/how Absol learns it? And I'm using Super Luck.

Absol learns it at level 60.

O.O You're using a Modest nature? That's a super bad choice. Modest cuts attack, and you're going to be needing all the attack you can get.

Ahh, that could be a problem. You could ask around for Swords Dance, or just get it from the Game Corner, but Superpower will be more of a problem. Obviously, you;re just going to have to collect more shards.

EDIT: Ehh..

if i have a low level pokemon in battle then switch it with something...
would it get 2/3 the exp if holding an exp share?
and if holding a lucky egg would it be the same as the full normal exp?

Sec, I'll edit this with the answer for the first one. I'm doing my math =p
After doing my math with my sweet skills, I've come to the conclusion that the pokémon who was switched into battle and is holding the EXP. Share will receive 75% of the total experience, while the other pokémon will receive 25% of the total experience.

The Lucky Egg gives 1.5x the normal experience you would receive, and having two pokémon battle a single pokémon gives each pokémon .5x of the total experience received. Using that logic, .5x1.5=.75. A pokémon used that has the Lucky Egg will receive 75% of the total experience, while the other pokémon will still receive 50% of the total experience.

=/ so it doesnt matter which item i used (if what i switched with is at 100)

alright, what if the weak pokemon was holding exp share, and the pokemon i was using was holding lucky egg, would it cut the exp before or after the lucky egg's bonus exp is added?

//edit//
just tried it, the lucky egg doesnt affect the exp gained from exp share

No, it shouldn't matter, as long as the switched pokémon is level 100. It'll make a big different if the pokémon isn't level 1000 100 lol.

EDIT: Lol, beaten. Hah, level 1000. Whoops.

so with your math i guess that if neither pokemon were 100, and both were holding lucky eggs, it would be as if both are getting 75% of the original exp?

also how much of a boost do pokemon from a trade gain % wise? (without the use of the items)

Yes.

150% of the original experience. That means that a pokémon with a Lucky Egg that is traded will receive 225% of the original experience.

Yes, if both had the eggs, they would both get 75% XP.
If one held the EXP. Share and the other held a Lucky Egg, the former gets 75% while the latter gets 37%.

As for the second question:
https://www.pokecommunity.com/posts/4622432/

Traded Pokemon from a different region than yours receive 170% (255% with Lucky Egg) of the normal XP, while local ones receive 150% (225% with Lucky Egg).

I didn't think one pokemon needed its own thread so ....

I need help with Ev distrabution for my mukihita

Item Flame/toxic orb

Moveset

fake out
bulletpunch
facade
close combat

Im not sure how i should distrabute the evs

I don't think giving it 252 evs will help it out speed many pokemon

So im wondering Should I make it a Bulkey Attacker.

So all seggestions are welcome.

I'm not to familiar with Makihuta. But you best be dropping 252 ev's into attack with a moveset like that:) i wouldn't even bother with speed personally. All attack and a good distribution between Def and SD. Particularly SD. But thats just my two cents.

I have a question about IV training. What would a high IV pokemons stats consist of?

For instance, would it be possible to achieve something like

Gengar-
HP:25
ATK:20
Def:26
Speed:27
SpDf:28
SpAtk:30

? Or is that unrealistic?

Well, as I know, it's possible, but you'll have a really hard time breeding a gastly with those IVs.

No... he won't. I got a Gastly with 22/0/26/31/31/31 Timid in a day of breeding. It'b be possible, as long as you know how to IV breed.

Full 31s can be obtained if you try hard.
