3rd Gen R/S/E DuoSpecies Challenge

Eh, its been a while since I made one of these guys, so I figured I would make a new one.

Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald DuoSpecies Challenge

I've been participating and creating challenges ever since I first joined PC. They've been one of the greatest experiences about being a member of PC. However, I don't usually compete or create monospecies or monotype challenges. I usually create a DuoSpecies challenge. DuoSpecies Challenges were one of the first challenges I competed in (for GSC). It was pretty fun tearing through Red with a Typhlosion and an Aipom. I decided to create a R/S/E DuoSpecies Challenge that you guys can enjoy (and that I can enjoy as well ^^)

Here's the basic rules of the thread:

• Don't flame other people in this thread.
• Sign up for which two families Pokemon you want in your first post (unless you have questions about the challenge.) Also tell us what game you will be using (Ruby, Sapphire, or Emerald.) (e.g., Skip Shot(Ruby)- Torchic and Shroomish families).
• Keep in mind that this is a DuoSpecies, not a DuoPokemon challenge. That means you can use more than 1 Pokemon from your species. (e.g., I can use 3 Blazikens and 3 Brelooms against the Elite 4).
• You should post a log of your current progress in your game at least once a week. I'll send around PMs to those who don't. If I don't get a reply within a month, you're out of the challenge. No exceptions.
• With each log, post your character name, how many badges you have, your Pokemon levels and moves, and any HM slaves you may have with their levels and moves.
• When your challenge is complete, post all of the above, and the game time. There may be a small banner/sig pic I can give out to the fastest trainer.
• If you have completed the challenge, and are disappointed with your time, feel free to go again. The faster of your game times will be posted on the leaderboard.

As for the challenge itself:

• You may sign up for two Pokemon posted below. These Pokemon will be in your team at all times from the point you catch them.
• Emulators can be used to play the game. No cheat codes are allowed.
• Up to 4 HM slaves are allowed to be used. If they gain a level, they are no longer considered an HM slave, and must be removed from your party as soon as possible.
• No Pokemon besides your HM slaves and the Pokemon you signed up for may be on your team at any time.
• Your challenge ends when you have won 35 straight Battle Tower matches (R/S) or have obtained at least 2 Silver Symbols (Emerald). The Battle Factory counts as one Symbol, even though it uses rental Pokemon.
• The Pokemon allowed can be caught up to the Trick House. Any Pokemon catchable only past the Trick House will not be allowed. To clarify, a list of available Pokemon is shown below (basic forms):

• Trading from another game is not allowed. Breeding is not enocuraged, but acceptable. However, ANY POKEMON OF YOUR SPECIES THAT GETS AN EGG MOVE FROM BREEDING IS NOT ALLOWED FOR THE CHALLENGE. For example, you cannot use a Mudkip that was hatched with Curse.
• Although trading Pokemon in from another game is not allowed, you MAY trade a Pokemon to another game and back in order to evolve it.(Geodude and Abra families only).
• When you get to the Battle Tower/Frontier, there are challenges that my require you to have three Pokemon. If that is the case, you may use a third Pokemon, but only if it abides by all of the above rules.

So, just to make sure I'm up to speed, uhhh has signed up, and skythurwhatever(too long to type -.-) is also in. Riku is also in, and since you should only have your HM slaves out in battle while revitilazing both your Pokemon, I don't see any reason as to why they should level up by accident, so no.

Potato is currently the quickest, by far. I got caught up playing Shiny Gold, so nothing new as of yet. However, with school wrapping up, I'll have plenty of time to catch up.

Since Nincada can evolve into either Ninjask or Shedinja, both are allowed. A Species challenge involves all Pokemon that evolve from the basic Species, so you could have 3 Blazikens, a Shedinja, and 2 Ninjasks, as long as none of them have egg moves (rules in this challenge ban egg moves).
